Japan's around the corner, I believe Canada is also not out of the question, and besides, more can always be. Korea, India, Mexico, Russia, whatever else.

With the Tadami Line its for sure TSW and not TSE :) So i hope to see more countries from Europe to all over the world!!

For me the same! But yeah i have made my point already. No hate to US train sim fans thats not the issue :)

The problem with Simulation games is the lack on public transport in the US so you see less interest in simulator games. The most simulation games are bus or train related and in the US its not a used product.

LIRR makes sense in several ways. New York is clearly popular in general and could probably be counted on to draw interest to TSW7. Although some of us might be tired of this focus, there were specific requests from some players for this exact route and loco when LIRR Computer came out (and even earlier than that). We might even imagine a world where TSW7 comes out with lots of fixes and stabilization, as unlikely as that sounds, but less extensive routes than previously. Perhaps even some updates like finally suspension for the M7/M9 would be included. So in the right scenario I think this could be a good choice. All speculation of course.

but that would imply routes and stock is released based on what the client base is after, sorry I just don't think that holds water. If you look at the suggestions threads, a large number of highly requested routes or traction which come up time and time again, and have done for years just aren't even entertained. There may be good reason for that, but I honestly can't see how the logic applies when vast numbers of UK players request mainlines such as South Western, at any era, going back to since TSW came out, and a small handful of people put forward an idea for a niche part of New York, and its approved on that basis.

If it is LIRR, I would take that more as an implication that New York sells more than anything else, which could therefore be construed as something the client base is after, as you say. It's difficult to compare UK to USA because there are many more UK possibilities, leading to many more UK suggestions, and as you have noted, many more UK disappointments. Just because we don't have anything South Western doesn't mean that DTG won't do LIRR yet again, because they're not all that related. Also as I had said if DTG is planning on focusing more on optimizations for TSW7, then add-ons make more sense than completely new routes. Perhaps we will got something South Western to go with a remaster of Brighton? I would like to see that too. Hope springs eternal.

It’s difficult sometimes not to be so negative, the issue is we are constantly let down by DTG, they don’t admit their mistakes and ignore difficult questions. They release bug ridden DLC after DLC and the fixes either take so long to arrive or just never come. Said DLC becomes stagnant and the next is pumped off the conveyer and said previous DLC and it’s bugs fall down the priority list. The core is fundamentally broken and we already know there’s no major changes to the version of UE for TSW7 and therefore this next release will once again be fundamentally very broken and I doubt there will be many if any significant fixes. Their DTG marketing video for next week has been recorded already, their ambassadors have seen what’s coming and for the rest of us, brace for impact and hope whatever lands next week lands in one piece and doesn’t land broken into countless pieces!

Yes, too many things come out with too many problems, that then take too long to fix, and oftentimes the fix introduces new problems as well. It can be difficult not to get frustrated. The good thing is that by this time I have such a large back catalog of DLCs that work fairly well, by TSW standards at least, that I am not particularly concerned with whatever is coming. Of course, from a certain point of view that does not bode well for the game overall, when I can just play the old stuff and be happy and not really care about the new. But the easiest way not to be let down by new content is not to buy it.

Also will add last year they released NJT dual mode diesel electric for Morristown route so id say high possibility in future may see another NJT route that utilizes the dual mode loco... and maybe further into future the Hudson line may become reality

Maybe in German content? Because only TSG can make content that doesn't look like it's the whole clone of previously maded.
Because even created by DTG the US content looks different, and give players unique trains. Meanwhile looking at German content by DTG I can't find any difference between the old ones and the new one.

i mean, that these first routes to show up with the TSW7 are because they will layer on to whatever IS the core routes this year.

Maybe because they are included in some mega-bundle edition. At least Cajon is a meme already, by being included everywhere.

WRT to USA routes in general, I don’t think there is a lack of overall interest Stateside, it’s more the gameplay style and choice of content for TSW specifically. Trainmaster 3 and later 4 were American innovations. MSTS was brought into being by the US software giant (albeit coded by Kuju in the UK). Its successor Open Rails is very much an American innovation. There are loads of US routes in TSC and a few Canadian too, but that’s where we see the area of interest. Long haul freight routes, often with veteran traction such as Alco’s, GTEL’s and Baldwin Centipedes. Then last but not least Run 8 with its emergent gameplay style where you pretty much run the railroad on an ongoing basis.

Sadly, DTG’s policy of limited A to B or commuter passenger with finite runs or scenarios just doesn’t scratch that itch when it comes to the USA and Canada. Even if they did drop a surprise like Tehachapi or Kicking Horse Pass for TSW7, it needs some more radical gameplay elements.

Cajon Pass, Spirit of Steam, Southeastern highspeed, East Coastway & the Kassel to Wurzburg seem to be very popular IYKYK i guess.

Curiosity has me though, and I would really like to see the Hudson line to kind of compleothe Metro North scene. If I have it right, the Harlem and Stamford routes are essentially the other two?

    Again, that post is gone...

DTG, you can delete my posts as much you like, you CANNOT hide the fact that TSW7 is coming, we ALL know its coming. In 8 days time.

Stop trying to hide the inevitable.

Reading between the many lines, it's pretty obvious now what one of the new routes will be. I won't write it again on here, as stuff is being deleted as quickly as it's being posted. But if my hunch on a remaster is true, good news for those down south. If done correctly, with a new bit of traction to go with it. Thinking of something with EE507

Just be careful buddy, they’ll block you. I think we have seen your posts and all it appears to confirm is what is already speculated. TSW7 is coming, the new version is announced every year at Dovetail Live as we all know. I think we’re all waiting to see what it comes with route, loco and hopefully fixes

DTG has made German routes I truly like: Rugh Sieg Nord, Rhein Ruhr Osten, Bremen - Oldenburg, Linke Rheinstrecke, Frankfurt S-Bahn and Ludwigsbahn. Because it's all DB, you see the same trains even if the routed are set in different regions. However there is in game a lack of different operators, there are quite some trains missing and the focus is to much in a recent past.

Well TSG has some different type of route, most of them are not that appealing to me. The only TSG route I really like is Niddertalbahn, but mostly for the BR628, which I prefer to drive on Linke Rheinstrecke.

US trains really don't do anything to me, no interest whatsoever, but I like to see different European countries. In general I like the more scenic routes, so less focus on the big cities would be ideal for me.

Obviously someone at DTG must be having a bad day, or a sense of humour failure.

I mean, they tantalise us with Direct which we know from previous years is almost inevitably a version change (with or without meaningful improvements) and a £70 three route pack with auxiliary DLC. It's not the forum's fault if we speculate and get it right or the odd bit of data elsewhere in the public domain gives a clue. Just mindless censorship, though sadly this EA style information control will backfire on them, just as when they tried to lock down what we can discuss on the forum (I'm amazed my current signature hasn't been nuked).

I was feeling less and less well disposed towards DTG and TSW anyway, but unless what is being discussed has arisen from a blatant breach of internal trust or NDA - FFS let it be. And I'll be buying the route pack in February next year in your avoiding bankruptcy firesale for £20...

To start that test, I predict we're getting a new Dutch route, from The Hague to Dordrecht, with the VIRM and ICNG included. I also was thinking about Schiphol Airport to Rotterdam included, but that line has ETCS irl, so most likely to difficult.

So, my guesses for the TSW7 core routes:
UK - Airedale & Wharfedale Lines
US - LIRR Port Jefferson Branch
DE - either starting from Nürnberg or BaWü

I’m mean they said new approach with TSW7 (or at least the direct anyway); we’ve had part of that new approach with them dropping gen 8 from the next iteration; maybe they will also cut off older / less played DLC, meaning they can optimise the ones in current play and drop forward compatibility with older DLCs (and not get to them for optimisations)?

Would mean less recertification each time and less ongoing maintenance?

Don't take this the wrong way, but I don't see what anyones going the achieve by keep poking the wasp nest so to speak, when we are only a week away the official reveal? What is it going to achieve? The whole point DTG direct is set up is to announce the new title and forthcoming routes.

To some extent you also have to respect, some people want to wait for DTG direct. And given how close we are to it, why go out of your way to try and derail it? We all know it's hardly a secret TSW7 is in the oven, and it's absolutely okay to speculate, but to go out your way to try and derail the whole thing or try and twist DTGs arm behind their back to get an admission probably isn't the best way to express any excitement you may have.

That's my two pence piece anyway.
