AP first announced their Bedford to Corby extension back in October, commenting how the route was still in early stages of development. We have a little update on the route since that point, with only brief section in some newsletters with a couple of screenshots. However, yesterday, AP updated the MML London - Bedford EP to say this: This would indicate that the extension is finally about ready to release. It also confirms that the extension will be a seperate purchase, unfortunately. There will be people defending this decision, but, personally, £20 is plenty for an enhanced route and a roughly 30 mile extension.
The MML London - Bedford EP pack is a penny short of £20 and I wonder how much this extension to Corby will cost? And if AP will bring out a combined pack?
I'm guessing it could end up similar to when AP release V2.0 of the Wherry Lines. If you haven't yet bought the EP, you can buy the EP, which would include the extension, for maybe £25-£30. If you previously owned the EP, you could buy a sort of upgrade pack that would include the extension for maybe £5-£10. But we'll see...
I've been looking forward to this since it was a announced. I don't have any issues paying for it as it'll add a lot to the route. Also, it's likely to have been well tested and if there are any bugs, they'll be fixed quickly. I think AP were offering a free DLC if you'd purchased their scenarios in the past, before they made them free. In which case I shall use that offer for this.
I don't see the logic in my why this pack would be seen as an upgrade to the London - Bedford EP. It's basically a new route, with all the work that goes with it, tacked onto the end of the EP. Expect to pay what you would for a new route.
I get where you’re coming from but AP have been advertising it as an upgrade since they originally announced it.
Have they? Pretty sure it's been marketed as an extension since day one but happy to be corrected. Even if the word 'upgrade' was used, why does the price change depending on words? It's what is being provided that dictates price and that is a new route. It just happens to be tacked onto the end of another for better gameplay.
