I'm only suggesting a couple more announcements for British routes because I have zero familiarity with European, or American station announcements. "The train now approaching platform [insert platform number], doesn't stop here, please stand well away from the edge of platform [insert platform number]" e.g. "The train now approaching platform 4, doesn't stop here, please stand well away from the edge of platform 4 "We are sorry to announce that the [insert time of arriving train], [train operator] service to [train destination] is delayed by approximately [time duration of delay], this is due to [reason of delay] e.g. "We are sorry to announce that the 14:53, Great Western Railway service to Plymouth is delayed by approximately 12 minutes, this is due a points failure at London Paddington "The train now approaching platform [insert platform number], is the [insert time of arriving train], [train operator] service from [train starting location], this train will terminate here. e.g. "The train now approaching platform 3 is the 11:49 Avanti West Coast service from Holyhead, this train will terminate here. "Please buy a ticket before getting onto a train, otherwise you will have to pay a penalty fare"
Medway Valley does this I definitely heard something like that the other day, can't remember what route though
There's also one announcment that should be intergrated to an existing announcment, I'm annoyed that the announcments don't mention the amount of coaches the approaching train is formed of, because they should. They should do this after listing the trains next intermediate stops. e.g. 1D78 on the GWML OpenTrainTimes: 1D78: 1750 London Paddington - Didcot Parkway Platform 9 for the 17:50, Great Western Railway service to Didcot Parkway, calling at Maidenhead, Twyford, Reading, Tilehurst, Pangbourne, Goring & Streatley, Cholsey, and Didcot Parkway, this train is formed of 8 coaches, platform 9 for the 17:50, Great Western Railway service to Didcot Parkway 1J66 on the West of England Mainline OpenTrainTimes: 1D78: 1750 London Paddington - Didcot Parkway Platform 3 for the 18:47, South Western Railway service to Reading, calling at Andover, Whitchurch, Overton, Basingstoke, and Reading, this train is formed of 3 coaches, platfrom 3 for the 18:47, South Western Railway service to Reading. For crying out loud, Stepford County Railway on Roblox does this, so why wasn't it included from the start in TSW
Personally just wish they’d remove the female voice they use on East Coastway, it’s clearly AI and can’t even pronounce station names properly it’s ridiculous. The Medway Valley voice is better but it’s too spaced out and needs the audio files to flow faster without gaps. the male voice on east coast way is far better and should have been left as the main announcer
I agree but I don't think they will because you'll hear both male and female announcments across the railways irl. The biggest problem I have is how slow they speak, ATOS Anne (the most widely heard train station announcment voice in the UK) speaks at a relatively normal pace, maybe a little fast for some, but the Ai voices in game speak so slowly sometimes (especially on WCML TV and Birmingham - Crewe) that I start nodding off. Another problem I have is the fact that an intermediate stop shouldn't say the name of the respective station in the list of intermediate stops the next train will call at. e.g. [on GWE at Southall] "Platform 4, for 11:06, Heathrow Connect service to London Paddington, calling at Southall, Hanwell, West Ealing, Ealing Broadway and London Paddington" When listing the trains next stops, it shouldn't say the station that the announcment is coming from (it shouldn't say Southall there) Did the devs actually listen to a real announcment, because they've got simple things wrong that they really shouldn't have. GWE is in desperate need of this announcment at every station, it would be heard so often because of how frequent fast trains are and how many freight services there are.
