AP first announced their Bedford to Corby extension back in October, commenting how the route was still in early stages of development. We have a little update on the route since that point, with only brief section in some newsletters with a couple of screenshots. However, yesterday, AP updated the MML London - Bedford EP to say this:
    upload_2026-8-16_22-11-4.png
This would indicate that the extension is finally about ready to release. It also confirms that the extension will be a seperate purchase, unfortunately. There will be people defending this decision, but, personally, £20 is plenty for an enhanced route and a roughly 30 mile extension.

The MML London - Bedford EP pack is a penny short of £20 and I wonder how much this extension to Corby will cost?
And if AP will bring out a combined pack?

I'm guessing it could end up similar to when AP release V2.0 of the Wherry Lines. If you haven't yet bought the EP, you can buy the EP, which would include the extension, for maybe £25-£30. If you previously owned the EP, you could buy a sort of upgrade pack that would include the extension for maybe £5-£10. But we'll see...

I've been looking forward to this since it was a announced. I don't have any issues paying for it as it'll add a lot to the route. Also, it's likely to have been well tested and if there are any bugs, they'll be fixed quickly.

I think AP were offering a free DLC if you'd purchased their scenarios in the past, before they made them free. In which case I shall use that offer for this.

I don't see the logic in my why this pack would be seen as an upgrade to the London - Bedford EP. It's basically a new route, with all the work that goes with it, tacked onto the end of the EP. Expect to pay what you would for a new route.

I get where you’re coming from but AP have been advertising it as an upgrade since they originally announced it.

Have they? Pretty sure it's been marketed as an extension since day one but happy to be corrected. Even if the word 'upgrade' was used, why does the price change depending on words? It's what is being provided that dictates price and that is a new route. It just happens to be tacked onto the end of another for better gameplay.

Fair enough, I’ll agree with you there.

I hope there will be a third phase extending it to Leicester and closing the gap to JT´s excellent MML network.

The route is said to be set around 2010. What are the differences between then and now?

Got this as soon as I got in from work yesterday. I'm very happy with it. Only had time for the first scenario and really enjoyed it. Makes the route a much nicer length and plenty of scope for my preferred drives (Freight or HSTs).

Will get a lot of hours from this.

It looks superb, the foliage work is excellent, looks very realistic and immersive. When done well I think TSC routes can look more realistic than TSW routes, we need more realistic/diverse looking foliage in TSW. The problem I have with TSC at the moment though is that I've been left behind with the enhancements, I need to spend a fortune to catch up. If there was a bundle deal of AP enhancements I would be very tempted.

It's definitely a steep curve when you've fallen behind on the packs - I'm sort of in the same boat, I've loads of AP stuff, but none of the recent HST stuff, along with the voyager/meridian packs. A tricky balance when you like the look of a route, but there's so many dependencies. It's not a complaint, the quality of the add ons are great, and the variety it gives in scenarios puts TSW well in the shade, but you need deep pockets! Maybe there'll be a sale soon, fingers crossed

Seem to remember AP saying their updated packs won't work with RWE2.
Driving soley in TSC in Quickdrive using RWE2, any issues with this pack would be useful to know about prior to purchase.
I would appreciate any feedback from those that have brought the pack so far if they have incurred any issues with RWE2?

Looking at the AP trailer. Wellingborough station is a lot different now in 2026.
The pick up point at the front of the station, and Kettering side car park have all disappeared since 2010.
Now there is houses and an access road and a new bridge to a new housing development.
Much prefer the AP 2010 version - reminds me of days gone by!

I need some help with this route please. I need two types of HST that the route uses. I already have the HST (MTU) Pack so thats not a problem. But I dont have the HST (VP185) or the HST (Valenta) packs. I cant afford both.So of the included 6 scenarios I have been checking to see which of the latter 2 variants is used most of all, so I can purchase that one which will give me most working scenarios. (I started swapping assets, but its too time consuming).
The asset which comes up as missing in many seems to be the "EMT1 (W2)" variant. But I dont know whether this is the Valenta or the VP185 version ?

Could anyone tell me how I could find out which asset is the predominantly missing one ?

    Thanks !
    Derek

Hi Derek. The VP185 variant is by far the most used HST on the route so that's the one to go for. It's almost certainly the EMT variant you refer to.

Hi Bart2day Thanks for the information. It sounds like the VP185 is the one to buy then. Thanks again ! Derek.

I quoted the 2 scenarios in the pack which are HST. #5 is using a VP185 variant and #6 using a MTU variant. I managed to segregate each pack and define which asset comes from which pack. They all get dumped into the AP/HstPack01 folder

Ah I see what you mean now ! Well I already have the MTU pack so 1M56 should work. And if I buy the VP185 pack then 1M66 will work too. Thats a good start. I also have the AP 222 EP and need to work out the best way to get its scenarios working after that,

    Thanks a lot buddy !

Let me know what you are missing (red from Locoswap tool) and I can tell you the source for any missing assets). I have a full listing of all my assets on an Access DB along with all of my 9,000+ scenarios. I have full AP, RSSLO, ATS, and all UK JTS as well as ChrisTrains. Most of my data can be found on my web site - I can provide a deeper dive if you need.
