If this route is coming to the game, l sincerely hope that the Keighley to Oxenhope extension is added and it would be absolutely fabulous if a ‘Railway Children’ train could be added as well, as this would bring some extra game time to add to the nostalgia of the route.

Maybe the big surprise will be no new routes at all, but three signalling simulations including at least one in a manual signalbox so we can play with block bells and levers.

Yes though it would be good on the JT routes to work one of the boxes with all those lovely 80's trains going past, one day perhaps.

Vern you could try this instead-

I'll keep an eye on that one. Always a bit of a shame that "The Railway" which the guy from IHH was working on, seemed to vanish. From what I saw doing some testing it was shaping up quite nicely but then it all went quiet.

I don't know why you keep saying this. If DTG was against speculation they would have nuked this entire thread already. Not to mention they partner with a Youtube channel (Train Sim Society) that frequently posts videos about TSW leaks and speculation. Obviously DTG don't want internal leaks or people breaking NDAs, but I think they’re very aware that speculation drives community engagement and is literally free PR for new content.

Don't see how that 'joke' fits within serious discussions around TSW's 7th iteration, and how am I supposed to know? I am european, I don't know geography. :P

I should have left the quote in, but:

The latter route not being real wasn't part of the joke, it was the closest I could think of to a real A-I route in the USA.

UK Loco DLCs I'd love to see for TSW7.

    The class 55
    Class 50
33/1 and 33/2 (possibly in a pack with the 33/0)
    Class 56
Class 24/25/26/27 (again, in a pack would be awesome).

I don't think we'll get them but I'd love it.

weak argument, since that’s not what my point is about
my point is: all this just to keep the "new" game on the front page of digital stores for a few days
if there were substantial changes... but we all know there won't be, it will be more of the same, just with added bugs

The issue is that we have to redownload content we have already paid for, content that gets more and more broken every year.

Wouldn't be surprised if it was ps5, which is the platform i use, the dlc issues with that have been a lot.

Last year DTG had to ask Sony to increase the DLC size for PS5, due to the amount of DLCs, if im remembering it correctly.

I said it before, ill say it again, TSW7 will be the iteration that makes or breaks it for me.

DTG here has the opportunity to turn the optimisation, issues and performance of the game around.

For years, this game has suffered from widespread issues and bugs, and in TSW6, especially, it has gotten to a tipping point, the blurry textures are just one of the indicators of what's going on underneath, the core is outdated, and it needs fixing.

the core cant take anymore, if DTG keeps the same core that we have had in TSW6 and all the previous iterations, the game will break.

when I joined this game back in 2018, 13 year old me had a dream that TSW would end up being one of the greatest train games of all time.

Please DTG, I still have a tiny tiny shred of hope left for you to lock in, and turn the ship away from the iceberg.

If you are on PC I believe you can just drag the DLCs from the TSW6 DLC folder to the TSW7 DLC folder. I think that worked for me last year.

No that won't work.... The TSW6 version is different then the newer version that will come. They don't support each other. The newer game version needs optimization for every already exiting DLC to let them work.

I don't seem to be able to find them in the exhibitor list anymore. Focus is there (did they forget they renamed themselves Pullup?), but their microsite shows only unrelated games.

Only the parent company is remamed to Pullup, Focus Entertainment still excist as division. The link gives a 404: https://www.gamescom.global/en/exhibitor/focus-entertainment

That’s definitely not going to work, as every single DLC has to be updated to TSW 7.
DTG does carry out this work, but that’s precisely why we have to download all the DLCs all over again every year.

DTG could have sorted this out ages ago, but it seems DTG isn’t interested in what the community wants.

Or they simply lack the technical know how/coding skills to come up with a routine that does it. I’m sure the bulk of what’s in the pak file stays the same, just a few digital signatures and interface elements. It’s less of a pain on PC/Steam because as mentioned previously just untick all the DLC and triage back in gradually. But PS5 is a pain in the backside as it tries downloading all the previous version along with the new. That definitely needs DTG to get a grip with Sony. We want to hear solutions, not problems… :)

Indeed. And with murmurs of a BML remaster, I'm slightly worried. While the current route may have cr*p scenery, it runs perfectly fine. If they get it right, it could be turned into one of the most immersive experiences imaginable, but if not it'll be another blurry mess.

I think they will nail it personally, if they do go for BML. It will likely have the same optimisations as Medway. Medway IMO is now the benchmark

I’m gonna be optimistic, shock horror, and hope that they will have perhaps have a solution to this mass reinstall and will surprise us pleasantly. They may even dress it up as the big core feature?

Although on balance, I would rather have the (official) more save game slots and the various bugs with the save fixed, than something which is an - albeit tedious - annual one off.

I agree it has to be something useful, the train faults are a farce, TSRs are none sensical. I ran panel 5 at Victoria ASC for nearly two years and never once saw a TSR, they happen, but not every journey. They absolutely must fix the passengers behaviours as a bare minimum!

+1 on the TSR’s… To finish off my Monthly Mastery yesterday evening I did a round trip from Tonbridge to Paddock Wood and back. On the Down drive, there were no TSR’s. After returning to free roam and taking over the next Up Train at PW, as if by magic a 40 MPH TSR had appeared on both lines at exactly the same location!

Track must be better maintained around Victoria than up North :D. Around Manchester I think calling them temporary is abit dishonest. They are in place for months.

Well that would be a interesting twist. TSW needs to pull a major rabbit out of the hat for me personally as I have just bought the whole Simrail suite last night based on my first week fully enjoying it. Thats with pretty much no knowledge of Polish railways which is what put me off for years. TSW needs a severe shot of realism ops wise and to do something about the bugs and stuttering. I still enjoy the JT Preston to Crewe route but Simrail has me hooked right now. Drove an ET22 last night proper old school power!!

I’m so tempted to bite the bullet with SimRail, it’s interesting to hear you’re enjoying it and are having no issues. How do you find the controller interface compared to TSW, is it easy enough to adapt to the commands for the controls?

Have no issue just got used to different keybindings, haven't really looked at changing them. Had a few spots of rubber banding on multplayer but upgraded my WiFi to 900mb and its reduced it a bit.

I'll chime in here as another recent SimRail player as controller support was one of the unknowns that kept me away. I'm up to around 30 hours after only a few days so I'm loving it.

Lots of YT videos had people clicking around in the cab like crazy people so I wasn't sure how it would be.

It's quite pleasant and usable with controller. Many things are similar to TSW. Brake/throttle control with triggers and shoulder buttons, SHP/ETCS acknowledge with B (O on PS controller). Haven't had any trouble myself. Some trains have brake and throttle controls that are a bit finnicky when using a controller due to the multiple options (can be easy at first to set to something you didn't intend), but you get used to it.

I do mix in a few keyboard controls just for convenience like radio controls for the ZEW buttons, cruise control/tempomat/etc. I've also rebound a few things, but it all works well.
