They posted about a reference trip to Huddersfield recently.

I can't find the post but can find the account, interestingly if you check their follows they are following Train Sim World 6's account. The above skepticism about them being for something besides TSW is fair, but I would be inclined to think they are working on a TSW project given that little tidbit.

There are rumours of a Northern route already so could be the same one or indeed another.

And then, perhaps, the whole thing will be released in a pitiful condition in a few years...

So what if more people want to join in and develop on TSW? there is absolutely nothing wrong with more third parties or developers joining and making their content.

If this route is originating from Huddersfield it could be one of two things...

    1. Huddersfield - Leeds
    2. Huddersfield - Manchester Piccadilly.

    Both featuring the Class 185.

Since TPE is under public ownership, the licence is mainly easier to get.

Just over 24 hours to go and no really verifiable leaks. Decent job - at this point last year we’d seen a screenshot of the GWR 802 and everyone had basically guessed it was Riviera Line.

2 is more likely as we already have an extended version of 1. Granted though it could do with a remaster.

    So my prediction for TSW6

    No more DLCs

We'll get one big Update before the release of TSW7 to tidy us over, possibly one or two smaller ones to tidy up any leftovers.

Then, that'll be that for TSW6, Support for it will end. No more patches, no more DLCs.

Then for TSW7, Some releases that were scheduled for TSW6 will be held back, but they'll be lacking any features announced for TSW7 as a result, so we probably won't get any of the features on a DLC until about November time at the earliest. (Not including the core routes for TSW7).

Branch line with an hourly service and not much else wouldn’t be huge on replayability.

would you rather the dlc quality is how it is now, or how it was 3 years ago? third party content, for the most part has been a blessing and has saved us from dtg’s monopoly over dlc quality

care to elaborate? prior to 2024, there were very few third parties and content was wildly inconsistent. nowadays, dlc quality is pretty consistent and flat out bad dlc’s are few and far between

Looking back at that 158 leak, I have just now noticed the stickers are neville hill depot in Leeds.

That brings more evidence to Airedale and Wharfdale.

It is the 25th of August, the day of the direct.

Today is the day the game could change for better, or for worse.

    This is DTGs big shot.

Could this be the beginning of something new, or could this pedal a broken game for another year...

I guess we will find out today, at 9pm BST.

unless the US content is actually really good, I couldn't care less about dovetail direct or TSW7
the only thing that matters to me is the tadami line, which I've been waiting for for almost three ******* years

    ...will remain the same.
I don't know what kind of miracle you're expecting. They'll just add new routes and will force you to re-download all the old ones.

Well that miracle needs to happen, someday, the core cannot remain the same as it is now.

If DTG really want the best for this game, they NEED to optimise it! We cant have another year of this disappointment!

My disappointment with DTG has been immeasurable, but in my heart, I still have a SHRED of hope this game will get better.

DTG cant do this forever, otherwise they are utterly shameless, SOMETHING needs to change!

I always look forward to the new routes, locos, and features despite all the persistent issues.

Some releases are more half-baked than others, but I'm glad we have suspension, announcements, expert locos, etc.

This time tomorrow we'll know a lot more

    Hello everyone, its MrSouthernDriver, here to bring you the weather forecast for the 9pm direct;

(Im owed a lot of cookies if this is 100% accurate, which it probably wont be)

it will be TSW7 (thats pretty much a grass is green moment there)

    3 core routes.
    3 deluxe locos.

UK will be Airedale and Wharfdale Lines, the amount of leaks with it have been the most. There's loads of leaks and speculation around it. Deluxe loco, maaaaybe a 331

Germany could be Around Nurnburg due to the route hopping sentence that was definitely a slip up. Deluxe loco, for the sake of all the Germans that suffered last year with the 294, I hope it's the ICE4

US im going to guess is NEC or LIRR again
(Trust me its such a DTG thing to do!)
    Deluxe loco, well...no clue

in terms of core features there truly is not much we can go off of, however, I'll try my best.

    - Dispatcher Mode
Previously seen on third party routes, it could easily be implemented as a core feature.

    - Signalling Mode
While it is complicated, it has been a requested feature within TSW for a while, hopes on that.

Take a ticket this year, could be the largest we've seen yet.

we've got a hint of a potential Romanian route, which was teased yesterday

Pixelpunk studios have also come out to announce their project too, which could be a UK northern or TPE route, by the looks of it.

    and countless other third parties that could be in the basket;

    AABS
    JT
    Firefly
    Vector Simulations
    And more.

if by some absolute miracle im correct, you all owe me £1000 :D

And thats the weather forecast for the direct. I'll see you all later after a 6 hour nap for the direct.

i wonder what game features tsw7 will have from the 2025 winter survey. i think most of votes were about bug fixes and blurry textures wanted to be fixed.

Trenton to Philadelphia would be nice and can we just get the Avelia Liberty as a US deluxe loco please? I know we most likely get the new LIRR route. Not really sure how to feel about the likely UK route but time will tell. For Germany hopefully something connected to the latest high speed route.

Not serious - god forbid that there will be about 10 miles, a good replacement can be Keystone Corridor (part of it)

For UK it 50/50 for South West Route London to Southampton with a new 444 and 455 or and new East Coast Mainline route with a 91 and for me if we have another London route it would be Midland Mainline or Great Eastern both routes can have class 360 new train and both can route hop to Mildmay Line other new trains be class 222 for mml and 321 for geml and better 90 with a dvt

More like Waterloo to Shepperton… :)

And as regards all the potential new third parties, I sincerely hope DTG have learned from past mistakes and don’t go gushing about a load of new content based on screenshots taken from the editor sent in an email. We need solid proof of concept to avoid the Class 104 debacle, or for that matter the ever moving further away DB 420 and Ludmilla syndrome.

Still not really convinced about a South West route, the speculation started when it was announced that the Mildmay line extension would have branded 450s at Richmond, a suggestion was made the other day that if we get a Brighton Main Line remaster, that we could also get these trains at Clapham Junction (missing from the otherwise brilliant Joe timetable), so can foresee that, I think DTG have been scared of touching this route, but with a remaster an optimisation and everything that goes with this could work well.

Highly likely not going to happen unless SEPTA (which runs on the portion from Trenton to Philadelphia) allows DTG to use their license.

I'd like to see the Avelia's in TSW as well despite everyone in the US's opinion on them.

i asked about this on discord and it turns out it’s not. shame because it could really do with some tlc, but i’m glad another developer will be adding a route to the game. they have confirmed that it’s something BR, however

    WHAT?!

Nice to potentially see another BR DLC developer. What operated around the Huddersfield region (apart from the Peaks, 40 and 47)? Would be nice to see the Peaks represented properly (44, 45 and 46).

We will be, originally it said “AI trains at Richmond and Clapham Junction. Clapham was swiftly removed from the text” bit suss and points to a remaster of BML in my view alongside many other clues

And no sadly a SWT route now seems very unlikely. But DTG surely have seen how many got very excited for one, so pull your fingers out and get on with it haha

And why aren't they saying there will be a TSW 7? After all, last year they announced it before the Direct.

There could be many reasons why and we might never find out why. If I were to guess it’s because when people know what’s going to be announced they don’t engage in the announcement event as much but if they don’t know there is more engagement and then people get hooked on the detail they see in the event. If they don’t tune in they don’t see the detail. It’s hard to tell from a real enthusiast’s perspective as we can’t see what it’s like to have just a passing interest in what DTG are up to. It’s easier to imagine having no interest in it. Maybe engagement numbers were down last year so they reverted to not announcing it to see if it has a positive effect.

Alternatively, as a second guess, it’s because there’s something different about what is being announced and not just a simple TSW7 announcement. I’m not expecting anything out of the ordinary.
