Rivet have a historic back catalogue of awful content with WCMLS being an all time low in my opinion (how that ever got released in the state of did I'll never know)... But there was a positive change in direction from last year onwards with the quality of their content. Riveria Line & Stamford Line are actually really good, and there seems to be no back tracking with their quality. Rivet really have pulled their socks up so I don't have many worries or issues about them being outsourced to do the work on any DTG route for now. So I'll give them credit, where credit is due, they can only continue to get better. I'd like to think that we wouldn't see a repeat of some of the stations on Cardiff Valley either and that lessons have been learned since then not to repeat such shoddy scenery. One would hope that if it was the Northern route, that the Class 333 would have to have a sound recording trip completed to as it's not a generic sounding unit. I suppose all shall be revealed to some extent on Tuesday evening.
Praying we do get the A&W, it's a perfect route for TSW, express and commuter with 4 different terminus's. The 333 (loyal to the A&W but also runs to Donny every odd time). If it's not the core OR on the cards I'll be very shocked.
I would hazard a guess at Multiplayer. I mean, an all new SP train sim is going to be exactly that - a reworked more of the same. Either that or they are getting in on the transport strategy side of things, having seen the anticipation for TF3 and the interest in other titles such as Railroader. Wilder cards, they have reworked OMSI 2. After Thomas, they are now doing Ivor The Engine…
If a romanian train addon developer is inviting their audience to watch the direct for something they made, I would certainly more expect them to do... a romanian train addon, rather than reworking OMSI 2 bus simulator developed by two folks in germany fifteen years ago.
Okay, I got the context completely wrong. I assumed it was something from a source within DTG. My bad…
To be honest I did as well, had no idea who Railforge is, assumed it was a dtg username. Got a bit excited that it could be a new sim,mp, or even a new editor. But the Romanian language should have made me realise...
DTG is British so the change they post something with the Romanian language would be very strange then
A Romanian route could be interesting then, particularly with one of their big, noisy, chunky old electric locos.
Well yeah fair enough they are seen to run to Donny alot more frequently throughout peak time while 6 car units take over the A&W. But theres always atleast 5 or more 333s running on the A&W.
Sounds interesting, but the quote 'it's going to change things around here' comes across quite ground breaking, i.e more than just a route and loco?
I would love to say they're finally switching their unreal engine but they need to first fix the millions of bugs they have before doing so.
It’s changing things for that developer, moving from developing for TSC to developing for TSW, that’s all. Don’t read any more into it.
I will say this below is purely from ChatGPT when I asked it what it thought the routes might be : ChatGPT-5.6 Luna My best guess would be: Region Prediction Confidence UK Great Eastern Main Line: London Liverpool Street–Ipswich 30% USA Pacific Surfliner: Los Angeles–San Diego 35% Germany Hamburg–Bremen 25% The Pacific Surfliner is my strongest individual prediction. It would give DTG a different American experience from the heavily represented Northeast Corridor and New York area, while still offering a recognisable passenger route with a manageable length. It has also appeared repeatedly in community speculation. dovetailgames.com For the UK, I’d favour the Great Eastern Main Line over Bristol–Cardiff or North Wales. It would fill a major gap in TSW’s British coverage, provide dense commuter services alongside longer-distance trains, and offer obvious opportunities to reuse or expand existing modern UK rolling stock. A London–Peterborough ECML extension is probably the safer commercial choice, though. Germany is the hardest to call. Hamburg–Bremen would be the most interesting option because it could combine DB mainline traffic with S-Bahn operations, but Berlin–Stendal or Berlin–Frankfurt (Oder) may be more likely if DTG wants to build around a Berlin setting and a new ICE or S-Bahn vehicle. Berlin has reportedly been one of the routes considered by the developers, although that is not confirmation of TSW7 content. dovetailgames.com So my personal prediction is: Great Eastern Main Line + Pacific Surfliner + Hamburg–Bremen. My “most commercially conservative” alternative would be London–Peterborough + another Northeast Corridor route + a Berlin-area German route.
Probably just did it for fun haha. But yeah it’s very unlikely it’s right. If it were to predict these routes correctly then I’ll start asking for lottery numbers from CHATGPT. xD
chatgpt is good for lots of tsw related things, but this is absolutely baloney of the highest order. this list is literally what routes a computer would most like to drive, not based on anything substantial
A route in East Anglia is long overdue though, so there's a chance. I've got a feeling the Wherry Lines will feature, DTG or 3rd party.
LA to San Diego is a bit too long for DTG to do for TSW, being 128 miles, youll most likely see it cut to Oceanside, where Metrolink trains end. Not to mention potentially no Coaster licensing, so the southern end of the route would be pretty dead with only Amtrak and sparse BNSF traffic. (Most likely the same reason NY Trenton ended in Trenton and not Philadelphia.)
Since the Direct is now very near and its always fun to make predictions, here are mine. UK King Cross to Peterborough Includes the Class 700, Class 717*, Class 80x Deluxe; Class 91 Very highly requested, would hopefully also include the Moorgate line and bring a long awaited addition to the ECML. Germany (Duisburg)Dusseldorf to Köln Includes the Br462 RRX and Br422 Deluxe: Br407/8 The route Folezz was originally building. I simply can't see it being fully abandoned and with the recent release of Nurnberg to Ingolstadt, anathor route that was started outside of DTG/3P, it resurfaced in my mind. Extending it to Duisburg would include a missing link in NRW and give multiple route hopping options. USA New York to Trenton extended to Philadelphia Includes the ALP-46, ACS-64, ALP-45A and Acela Deluxe: AEM-7 or Avelia Liberty With ending the original route at Trenton I'd feel like they've shot themselfs in the foot a bit. With DTG potentially looking to eventually complete the whole NEC I don't see a logical reason to stop in Trenton, unless if they're planning to make Wilmington a terminus for routes to/from Trenton and Washington.
Being that the direct is several hours away. I am starting a USA content thread what do you hope for would like to see..as far as Routes DLC upgrades features etc...
Not really predictions but more a wish list of mines. UK - ECML: Edinburgh - Newcastle. I’d really love to see the Scottish ECML up to Perth. Germany - Berlin Ringbahn / Berlin Anything. Time to get the capital of Germany in TSW. It’s long overdue now. US - preferably somewhere entirely new we haven’t visited yet or if it’s the same old NYC / LA which it probably will be then I guess either the Hudson line or a extension out to New Haven. Potential new country - China.
Chucking my 20 pence worth into last minute speculation I think we all know the core route now via the 158 leak, but I will pin my colours to the mast of a London to Brighton remaster. Evidence: - Mildmay line originally saying the extension would show AI 450s at Clapham and Richmond, Clapham soon omitted - Class 377/3 and 171 announcements on train have all Southern stations recorded including along the BML - It’s highly requested and optimisation has improved But - will a remaster have a deluxe unit with it - A class 455? Or will it just rely on a new 377/6 repainted and reformed from a 387, and the obvious inclusion of Thameslink 700s
I will start off with a few things . As far as new routes i think since we usually get 2 new routes guessing it Be LIRR route maybe TRI Rail Florida route or maybe NEC or MBTA ..unless they surprise us with something new.as for new Dlc would like to see some more freight car and loco paks,,from HIS since they seem to be the only hope for any new freight related content unless some new 3rd partys step up.looking forward to the SP Hayden branch that hopefully come soon for TSW7 ..would like to see passenger annoncements added to Metrolink NY Trenton and MBTA routes LIRR too .. F
Also will add..this is for serious USA Players who like to play and see more US content ..Freight haters or US route haters need not to be commenting on here we know what you think....no need for the negativity
Why do you open a new thread and you didn't use an existing one? There are plenty of them where you can share your'e wishes.
i can see ATS doing more around the birmingham area...maybe involving the birmingham to stoke line plus some more local services
I’m gonna go with Kings Cross - Peterborough for the UK route. I’d prefer a northern section of the ECML, but I don’t think DTG have the minerals for York - Newcastle!. Happy to be proved wrong of course.
opened a new thread cause its necessary .most people dont go back on old threads .besides its a new thread geared twd USA content only most of the other threads are UK related ..besides this is your usual comment on a lot of new threads...if i want to start a new thread i will do so no one tells me what to do..
Don't personally play US content that much, but when I do it's usually driving the Amtrak trains, so I guess more Amtrak stuff. Don't really know anything about US railways to say much more than that, but maybe that new Amtrak Avelia Liberty perhaps?
i will add that after whatever is revealed in the direct for USA comments are welcome .this is also meant to be a going forward type thread after we find out whats revealed ..
No USA content, as I don't play it anyway, however I understand that's not that friendly for the people who do like USA content
Do you mean "USA' or "New York" content? TSW is mainly "New York" what shows directly the problem with DLC that reflects the USA its very limited in what area they are. So for me if they choose to stop with it it's fine USA content is not very appealing when you asking me.
Hope for… Something vintage with Alco’s, FM’s Baldwins or Little Joes. Something iconic and scenic such as Kicking Horse Pass or the Moffat Road. Or something Mid West like St Louis to Jefferson City. The icing on the cake would be if they had overcome the obstacles to doing New York Subway but I’m 99.9% certain that won’t be the case.
My last minute predictions/wishlist: UK ECML either London-Peterborough or Leeds-Newcastle. Class 800 as default loco and 91 as deluxe Germany Nurnberg-Wurzburg. ICE3neo as deluxe, BR440 as default US - no idea, really not familar with US railways Take a Ticket: Some Romania route Firefly route (another third rail) AAS (something in the midlands) Airedale line (perhaps by ATS?)
It's on steam as well https://store.steampowered.com/app/4678800/Train_Sim_World_7/ Got the german route right at least
