im pretty sure the timetable is based around 2024-2025 bc when i was in koln at the time i saw br401 drive over the irl SKA line and in tsw there useable aswell so

 

Two Eastern Region routes on the way so I'm very happy. West Yorkshire and Kings Cross to ?????. I had a feeling we were in for a third but maybe it's not far enough in development to be included.
Some of the things I was hoping for.
Live weather - Brilliant.
Improvements to passenger behaviour - Fingers crossed.
Better TSRs - excellent news.
I assume the above will work on prior routes when played in TSW7.

No East Anglia announced this year again but our time will come. It's not a London Midland fest thankfully. Noticeable that Just Trains next release after Whitehaven wasn't teased. Nothing for Incredible Trains or Firefly. I assume they're cooking new releases.

Also, after the South West Trains license announcement I was really surprised that there wasn't any content for them.

9/10 if KX goes up to Peterborough.

 

Can’t help but notice a good portion of the upcoming trains merely seem to be reskins of existing stock in the sim. Tough to be excited for.

 

Now the Dovetail Direct stream has finished is everyone happy with what was announced

 

it is set in 2020 at the latest, but possibly earlier- i’m not sure exactly what year, but it’s a tsw2 route. they could always add the layer anyway, or maybe an up to date 2026 timetable

 

despite this, i actually think this was one of the better upgrades this year.

Brings a lot of welcome things, its better than them not touching the core at all.

Im satisfied.

less of that than last year at least, which i’m pleased about. if memory serves, the core package included one, yes ONE new loco

 

plenty of opportunities for layers, because those will come from so many different packages it’s not really viable to bundle them all in as part of the core route

 

One thing im disappointed about is no mention of Firefly. Hopefully they are making something good for the future.

 

i am also excited for TSW7 TRI Rail miami and NJT Bergen line for USA .The UK and german routes look good also

 

The BR era UK stuff has got me excited. Really happy with NTP remaster with the 37/0.

The sheerness branch and Newquay Branch I'm happy to see. Will be purchasing them.

That's what I thought. I believe the WMR Class 196 runs the majority of services along the route, so it doesn't really make sense to make the route without it.

I'd rather they make it so you can have a somewhat complete experience out the box. The route is likely to sell for £30; I find it a bit cheeky that you'd have to pay even more money just to get the bare minimum stock to provide the services (they'll likely use the WMR 170)

 

The TFW Class 158 will need to have a new soundset

 

I thought they said Firefly are doing the 466 and Sheerness?

 

And I was under the assumption that no-one else other than Skyhook could do a 158?

 

Firefly are doing Sheerness unless my ears are broken.

 

SUPER ready for the new Epic settings, got my 5080 and Ultra 9 285K 64 GB RAM rig, ready to go for this!

Just really hoping that the promised optimizations will work with these settings, I'll still have to wait and see of course.

Also, I'm very excited for live weather being native to the game now! Plus adjustable FOV as a vanilla feature is something I wanted for a while!

However, I still have my doubts about the rollout no matter how much the game changes. But I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt this year, I will take a look and see if this is all worth it but I'm both keeping my skeptics and hopes.

My takeaway from all of this: someone needs to make matching timetables for Kassel-Würzburg, Frankfurt-Fulda, Würzburg-Nürnberg and Nürnberg-Ingolstadt including freight and the new Ice 4!

The whole rest was a bit of a letdown for me personaly. I wonder how the performance/graphic updates will be like and the new freight mode looks interesting, if it´s done right.

Most announcements don't interest me so won't comment further on them bar the NTP remaster. A proper timetable and decent 37/0 would be good!

Got to admit I am now in simrail most of the time. Feels far more real than TSW with its rigid routing. The train radios actually work in Simrail!!

I feel TSW is getting left behind on realism compared to the competition and only keeps a foothold by producing shiny trains that have a market appeal.

They did mention Firefly, they're working on the class 466 and Sheerness branch.

They've done some subtle tweaks to the UI this year.

The more rounded corners make it look nicer

 

A firefly 466? YES. i’ve been desperate for more stuff from them, and this feels like the perfect project for them to continue with. hopefully they branch out into more mainline stuff after this

 

I don't know why, but it kind of reminds me of racing games like Forza or something. But it does look more refined than previous versions.

 

It better have not been because I've been waiting on my knees for this new tt for the MML since it was announced and am now pissed off that it's gonna be a TSW7 release

 

the fact they havent really mentioned console performance is worrying

I'd watch Train Sim Society but the titles are just too clickbaity. "Brutally honest thoughts". Cringe.

 

for my part, I’m really only going to get the tadami line and the bergen line (which likely won't be out until next year) and that’s it
I’m opting for the free starter pack this year
DTG has deeply annoyed me with their internal disorganization, so they won't be seeing any of my money this year (except for the already mentioned two routes)

 

New UI that still has the Pendolino front and center and not something from the new content.

 

I like TSS, I agree he can be a little cringe sometimes but he's is literally just saying his "brutally honest thoughts"

I agree but the content is good.

 

I admit I get easily confused at times.

But I am confused by the new freight aspect for TSW7. Will wagons be spawned at random locations on routes and we just pick a random loco to drive and then take the wagons somewhere? If so, isn't that just Free Roam?

 

The graphics are confusing - if you just get the free starter pack for example would you not get the live weather & weather updates?

 

The option should be called "turn off colors".
God Rays? DX10 feature is finally in game on DX12.
I don't know, it seems to make the game less flat, but at the same time it has that DX10 and UE3 colorless vibe.

 

I foresee this feature being yet another extremely problematic and buggy one
we’ll definitely see things like wagons spawning (or already spawned) right in the middle of the track out of absolutely nowhere

 

I don't get sth... I pre-purchased TSW7 Deluxe (Steam) and it says on the game's page that I have 128 DLC... this number for TSW6 is 136... The missing ones are the compatible content included with TSW7 Ultimate + stock 1938 + Boston-Providence... I have these already so I skipped the UE, will my game still include these?

 

Had they done a UK pack with the route and two EMUs, I probably would have got it. But they stopped doing those a while back so I'm happy to get the free pack and wait for a sale much later on.

 

It wasn’t too bad this year. Nice to finally see a new part of America come to TSW. Also the long requested NTP remaster is finally becoming reality and then there’s Kings Cross from ATS.
