Strangely on the forums there isn't anyone talking about it, so I guess I'll be the first. I really am excited to finally see the ICE4 in TSW , considering that all the german routes (apart from few of them) are set in 2018 - ish , it brings a much needed addition to realism. Despite this I'm worried about 2 things : - in the official article ,at least to my understanding, there hasn't been a single reference to an official sound recording trip - I hope that this EMU layers at least on FTF and Kassel- wurzburg.
I can imagine its because the train is made of too many different carriage models so a reskin would be really time consuming to make in the livery designer. Or what is more likely DTG is afraid the livery designer reskins will tank performance and cause more blurry textures on consoles for the same reason that there are too many different coaches in one set. We already know that was the same excuse (TSG and) DTG used for the ICE4 not existing in game to date, and is similar why we didnt get a FLU variant of the class 700 for the UK.
That's not DTG's fault, it's a decision made by DB. Same as with the ICE 3, DB initially denied the ICE 3 Livery Designer compatibility as well.
In a German interview with DTG Lukas he told there is no official sound trip made but uses extra sources from the modding community. They try to add the ICE4 to other routes as Kassel Würzburg. Frankfurt Fulda is a bit more complicated due to the fact that ICE4 isn't stop at Fulda in Reality but they try to look in to that.
I was expecting the lack of sound trip, but it’s still a pity. Don’t think it’s entirely DTG’s fault. DB seems far less cooperative regarding sound recordings compared to other countries. I’m always amazed by how cooperative some of the American companies are with complete acces and test rides. Let’s hope the community provided great sounds.
When you sit in de cab you didn't noticed so much sound when you driving. The ICE4 power coaches sitting not in the area from the cab.
Really looking forward to how he will sound. But smth I don't get is with the ICE4 only a handfull stops at Fulda. Yeah there is the hourly service from an to Hamburg that would continue nostop to Kassel but like the ICE 1 does the same thing, as the ICE 4 replaced the ICE 1. Like the two hourly service Basel-Berlin via Hanau and Fulda stops there and continues than further to Kassel, and the other 2hourly ICE 4 service München-Berlin via Frankfurt nonstop to Hanau. Yeah maybe they would have to like duplicate the tt and swap the ICE 4 for the ICE 1 cause I'm not sure in which timeperiod the original Flixtrain tt is set in but since I think summer 2020 or so. DB use the ICE 4 on the relation Hamburg-Basel-Chur and Berlin-Basel-Interlaken Ost. But oh boy, how cool is it to drive like 2 and a half hour from Kassel all the way to Ingolstadt in the ICE 4. Really excited for this one. FTF timetable is set in 2018 so its difficult to say for me if its right. It was mentioned in the interview about less ICE4s stops in Fulda.
Ah 2018 thanks, yeah for that it doesn't make sense and they would have to set it in a year like 2021 or so for maximum ICE 4 services

Yeah to set the expectations on sounds: the cab of the ICE 4 irl is extremely quite. You don't hear any traction motor sounds at all in the cab because the traction motors are located on carriages behind the first one. So the exterior sound of the ICE 4 will be much more 'important' because it will be more noticeable. In the cab you shouldn't be able to hear a lot of that.
I’m still really looking forward to hearing the sound in the driver’s cab, even if it isn’t very loud, because I was lucky enough to ride in the driver’s cab on the Freiburg–Basel Basel service the other day and it was absolutely brilliant
As long as it has the realistic voice output for PZB etc. im happy. Also dont forget the beeping door sounds while doors are open, which hopefully work on AI services as well.
So a bit like the Class 801, 802 etc Hitachi sets in the UK? Which frankly are really boring to drive. I always feel it's a bit of a shame that some licence isn't taken and the traction sounds available as an option to play in the cab. One of the reasons why TSC and MSTS did it better in some respects, find a compromise between realism and entertainment!
The Ice 4 needs to come to Frankfurt-Fulda. Does not run on Leipzig-Dresden in real life and I don´t care much for the old Tod 3 German routes. The first couple of years in TSW sucked for Germany. Things are getting interesting now with the upcoming steam era route and the connection from Kassel to Ingolstadt. Never thought the Schnellfahrstrecke Kassel-Würzburg would become relevant again, but here we are. Makes sense now, that TSG made a new timetable for it.
For TSW7? Yeah, I think so. But it could be a TSW8 Core route actually. Probably too big for a 3rd party. Even for TSG as they are already working on a "big" train (Railjet), so their ressources are limited. Yet, i really hope to have an 408 at some point in game!
