Shame all the freight has gone from this area now - was looking at Google Maps and it still shows all the freight sidings etc as if they were still there and there was loads. Sadly all long gone now.

It's such a sadness that this will be a separate route. I understand that no one wants to mess with the old SEHS for a new branch. I also understand that the entire route is unnecessary for this branch. But it's still a sadness.
I really liked this branch in TSC.

Firefly quick question please if I may?
Will scenario planner allow for back to back pathings for this route?

I plan to run a couple of retro 313s painted in Connex to stand in as 508s, would be great to be able to have a back to back run and to be able to populate another one at the other end

I’d imagine you’ll be able still see plenty of ai though, so it’s just a case of running to Sittingbourne and then changing DLCs

Not necessarily. If Firefly headed north of the Thames to the c2c line (aka the London, Tilbury and Southend Railway) to weave their Electrostar magic on the Class 357, that could have a complete AI set with layers from Suffragette, SEHS, unbranded faux Tube stock like GWE:R and even DLR trains like Mildmay. Plus freight.

We have seen it with AABS on the WCML and surrounds and we are now seeing it with Firefly on the southeastern network, creating DLC that intertwine with each other (maybe ATS will focus on further ECML offerings after their release) and I for one love it and welcome it, especially since it means that gameplay doesn't stop once you've done a run on a single DLC, you can continue a service/gameplay across multiple DLC, what's not to like!

It would have been good if they had done it as an extension to the Mvl but being my local line I look forward to seeing it. Hopefully we will get the remains of the 3 spurs with the route. I would hope to be able to do the drs scrap run ending at sheerness.

I would love to have seen Chatham & Medway Valley line as it was on TSC in TSW, but I understand the technical limitations of TSW's engine would prevent it working. It was my most played DLC on that game followed by the London to Brighton DLC that also went from Hove, skipped Brighton and went to London Bridge and not just Victoria... suspect that was a mod, but its been a while since I last played it.

Can I ask a cheeky question, one that won't give anything away, but is it a long route?

The Sheerness Branch is not a long route, which OP was referring to in that rather than anything else

Seeing as the Thames Branches are way more fun than I expected, I’m really looking forward to this. A route like this adds so much context to the main line.

Even if it’s a separate DLC, you still see what’s down there. I like knowing what’s down there and knowing I can go there if I like.

Lifelong open world gamer here. I’m the kid who played San Andreas just to see what’s down there… (those Las Venturas cops do NOT appreciate early discovery)

The original only went to Victoria; you're reffering to the Workshop route that merged it with South London Network.

Personally I really like the idea of those smaller separate routes. Good for a shorter runs, good for being detailed routes and also good for performance. Adding branch lines to existing routes will give more problems for performance, more risk for blurry textures and developers need to work with older stuff made by different developers.

Being developed by Firefly gives me trust is will be a detailed route and this route will be the first Firefly route I will buy. The reason I haven't bought MVL is due to the train itself, I can't stand those small letterbox windows. It really takes away the enjoyment, on SEHS I only drive the 465 and 700.

i expect this’ll cost £20, which is a fair price considering you’re getting 3 timetables and a brand new branch line. as long as the 466 is of the same standard as the 375/3, it’ll be absolutely worth the asking price

The Same Price 17,99€ would be fair as Thames Valley

Can’t lie I’m kind of excited considering the 465/9 is one my favourite trains.

Can anyone confirm if the 466 will have a functional toilet?

British trains are required by law to have accessible toilets if a train has a toilet. This is why most trains in the UK will have one accessible toilet and the rest being normal. The 465s had their one standard toilet replaced with accessible toilets, but Southeastern never fitted them to 466s. They got a derogation allowing the 466s to not be fitted as long as they run with 465s that do. But on the Sheerness Branch the toilets would have been locked out of use because for some reason the law says having no toilet at all is better than having only a standard one.

I think that was the reasoning. I have a contact ex SE I’ll ask the question

EDIT: Yes, toilets were supposed to be locked on the Sheerness branch, for the exact reasons you mention

Never say never - the popularity is there. I think the biggest blocker is writing the characteristics of doors opening at different times and passenger behaviours. Could be wrong. Luckily we have a VEP, EPB cars of both BR and SR variety and many of the sounds can be patched together. Ie commonwealth or B5 bogie running sounds on Mk1s being matched with sound files of 455 compressors and traction gear. Of course when 3417 does run again proper on the mainline, it would be handy for a dev to get a microphone at the ready

I’ve stopped hyperventilating now so I can post. I’ve just spent 18 hours running the 465 between Tonbridge/Paddock Wood - Strood and back, knocking off the rust after some time away from the game. But a brand new Networker?!
I’ve just posted on the SEHS Feedback thread about the 465 Vigilance audio being slightly wrong since the Dartford Extension released, hopefully this will spur DTG to sort that out.

There is only one sub class of Class 466 as far as I'm aware... They are near enough identical to the 465/2s built by Metro Camell.

Will this extend from the other side of the triangle to Rainham or at least Newington so that the peak-hour London train can be operated?

It would be nice to have the BREL/ABB Class 465/0s & 465/1s with their retractioned Hitachi motors.

Technically speaking the 465/9s we have in game are representative of the 465/2s, as they were originally 465/2s that were refurbished and given 1st Class sections (those 1st Class sections have now been removed). All of SouthEasterns small remaining unconverted 465/2s have sadly all be withdrawn and scrapped as far as I'm aware, and the 466s aren't far behind them... Although I think it was 466043 which has now entered preservation!

Yeah I agree, maybe with the ability to lock or unlock, depending on the line travelled on, that'd be ace!

Yeah I think they are locked, and aren't allowed to travel without a 465 on the SE network in passenger service for that reason.

This is all a bit of a myth - they were never actively locked out on 466s and are still useable today.

DTG forgot about the 465 the moment they released it. There's also the well documented issues with the interior that were never fixed, even though the fix is piss-easy. And the physics are wonky as well... Hopefully the 466 will be better, but the bar is low.
