Sounds about right for Euros. The bottom line being, if you buy the route and additional train without going Deluxe, it will cost more than the usual price for a two train DLC. Unless of course DTG do offer some sort of mini bundle.

They said they won't make any regional bundles this time, so if you buy individually you will pay the full price for a route plus a loco DLC.

Well that definitely relegates it to a sale, then.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on how DTG have modelled the 333 front? Seen a few comments elsewhere that the cab looks slightly flat, light clusters aren’t accurate and destination box is on the wrong side. Hope some of these issues are ironed out before release.

They also weren't doing regional editions for TSW6 if you recall, the safe bet is that once the free starter pack is removed after the 2/3months they'll drop the three regional editions... Just like last year.

As this route is from DTG could I presume that it will not have the same level of railway infrastructure that the third party developers provide? For example, no cable trunking, nothing connected up. From the limited screenshots, it's hard to know. Perhaps someone here has seen more of the route. It spoils the immersion if the basics of a railway are missing. I wished DTG would copy what Just Trains and others provide.

Mileposts too, especially if Rivet have been involved as a sub contractor.

JT, ATS and AABS…alongside the solo dev who made Mildmay have collectively put DTG to shame when it comes to high-end route building.

At first as I heard the announcement for this route I thought: oh no, not again a TSC-route. After a little while I thought: well for TSW its a good choice because we get several little drivable lines which is on one side really nice to give some variety and some meaningful endpoints. At least it feels better than the Cardiff network.

But then I get concerned. We get again a US, a UK and a GER route. DTG also announced a second US route by them (Bergen Line). And the dutch route is also from them? I dont believe that they had so much time to build 5 routes. okay three should be relatively finished because they are the core routes. But then we have to keep in mind, in the background they soon will start certainly with the plans for TSW8.
Last year DTG announced beside the core routes also a second US route made by them (NY-Stamford). And one of the core routes was the Rivera. And here I came to my concerning point. The Rivera has a specific thing that is characteristic for one specific developer. And this developer downright vanished some time ago when it comes to route building.
And one already had one particular question in mind:
I am concerned too how much Rivet Games is involved in making this route. Because most, or even all of the routes Rivet has made (or was involved) had the characteristic that some stations you can only teleport to another platform! HELLO? We have Train Sim World - one characteristic of this game is, that you can walk! Walking along platforms, through wagons, into loco. And what do they? They place teleporters on platforms to beam you to the other platform instead they made it possible you can walk over!!! Why? What they think to do this like that? And excat this is also existing on the Rivera which gives me the clear indication they was involved at least in bilding the stations. And when I look back what UK routes came in the past 1-2 years, DTG hadn´t done much ones, all others are from JT and All Aboard and the Rivera ... well at least in parts as it looks is done by Rivet. So I am now really concerned what we no got presented here.
Its even annoying enough by other developers and DTG itself if there are some stations where you cant get even to the exit of a station building, which I already couldnt understand why not. But this teleporters are the most wretched thing I´ve seen in TSW (beside some weird
concrete slabs which protruding into the track profile at one of the big stations of the Midland Mainline route - which by the way never got fixed as I know).

ehm, not depening this annoying teleporters on platforms which destroys immersion

Well if that is the worse thing about the route then they can't have done a bad job.

I doubt there is a route released which doesn't have some annoying inconsistencies or foilbles.

Rivet Games seems to be living rent free in several members of the communities heads. I agree in the past their content hasn't always been up to scratch but lately it has been much better and I can find little wrong with the Riviera route and it seems to have gone down very well.

As ever I shall wait to see what this route looks like from Youtube videos before purchasing.

Do not forget, not every TSW player has TSC, some may never have bought it or some have stopped using it, so for many it matters not if it has been released before in TSC. If they only released routes which weren't featured in TSC they would start to run out of content fairly quickly, we wouldn't have any ECML, WCML, BML, Riviera, Fife Circle etc, etc.

DTG haven't built their own UK routes since Goblin (Suffragette), Rivet appear to be 'lead developer' for at least 2 DTG branded routes per year, Milton Keynes and Cardiff for TSW5, Riviera and Stamford for TSW6. I fully expect Rivet are building Airedale and probably the Bergen Line.

This appears largely because where DTG used to have 3 teams making 2 routes per year (so 6 routes), at least one of those teams moved across to work on the UE5 project Metro Rivals, which is the training ground for developing the UE5 replacement for TSW, so I fully expect less and less TSW routes from DTG themselves.

I personally think Rivet have come a long way over recent years, but their reputation on these forums continues to drag on them, so it's not surprising to see them function more as a second party.

"We will be showcasing the game live on a console at a future point, ahead of Early Access on September 10th 2026."

Oh dear, This doesnt sound like a good sign...

If it’s ahead of early access then surely that’s a GOOD sign?

Depends, this could either be terrible, or really good.

For me as a console player, it is a good sign. I can know what to expect then.

Why on earth would a console preview be a bad sign?

Matt actually confirmed during his charity stream that Riviera was entirely Rivet. Literally all of it. DTG only did the 220 as far as I know.

Well that will be an Xbox Series X then, I'm led to believe you can't load non retail stuff on a retail PS5. Unless Dovetail have managed to finally get themselves a PlayStation development kit.

It still is, you haven't noticed the coupler disappears in photo mode. (granted not the biggest or even a game breaking bug, but still)

It may be misleading because of 2 things I can think of.

    1. They are using a dev kit which we know has more active RAM and therefore the blurry textures will be hidden. As proven in other streams and the fact that was an excuse for not noticing the texture issues during testing.

    2. If they are using a retail unit the older content is not available until the 15th so
it will just be the base route with no active layers from any other DLC. Again hiding the blurry texture issue.
