The blurry step wasn't intended and we're looking into it.

There is no master race. Just snobbery from certain sections.

Do you also own Birmingham to Crewe and play on the full timetable? I've heard reports that the 350 units from Birmingham to Crewe cause this issue on Trent Valley and on the Evero timetable on WCML South.

Yep a good route but its BLURRED again All Aboard Studio's (ABS) where pulled over the coals by DTG for there efforts on Birmingham to crew or Birmingham to blur as i call it.

But on the whole Trent Valley is one of the best routes i have ever seen most of the blurring is inside of the cab of 350-4 & 807

What platform are you on? I've never had blurring even inside the cab on Trent Valley on PS5. I however don't own Birmingham to Crewe and never will until the blurred textures issues can be solved. I would advise playing on the reduced timetable as the blurry 350/2 and /3 are substituted for the much better optimised 350/4. The layers on the full timetable are rarely seen on route and performance is better for not much loss. In fact there are more class 390 services on the reduced timetable which is a net gain. I actually have to play on the reduced timetable anyway to get the 350/2 and /3 services playable as I don't own Birmingham to Crewe and ironically get almost as many services as the full timetable overall.

I recently purchased the class 805 add-on, and I have experienced some minor blurring on both the reduced and full Evero timetables. The units worst affected are the evero units themselves, where on the full timetable I experienced blurry textures on the class 805 that kept coming and going between Watford Junction and Milton Keynes on a service that left Euston. The textures stayed blurry on route but became normal again when passing a station or train. On the reduced timetable, this same issue occurred only on the approach to Milton Keynes, on a 805 train from Euston. The class 350 and 390 only had minor blurry textures on both my runs on the Evrero Timetables. The 350 in the cab when approaching Euston and the 390 when zooming into the train. Euston Station also gets blurry on this timetable when you approach the station. This is an issue that needs looking into.

A question that's been in my mind for ages: If you have, say, multiple trains of the same type 'loaded in', do they share textures or do they each have their own copy? It seems to me that any single texture should only exist once in memory, being referenced and transformed by each object using it.

With the announcement of TSW 7 yesterday, are we confident that the blurry texture issue isn't going to migrate over too?

It's based on the same codebase, so unless there's some miraculous fix we don't know about, it will continue. What worries me is that there's a lot of tinkering and research going on but there appears to be little in terms of reliable results.

I agree and it seems the sure fire fix is rebuilding the core and asset management from scratch

However thats probably a 2-3 year project in scope.

Think you are right. We will have to wait for the next generation for a technology leap to cover up DTG's incompetence

It's a shame that if this is a 2 or 3 year project that DTG didn't start working on a fix when this rearing it's ugly head

Instead we have just had a series of lies

'We are making good progress' or 'this is our priority going forward' and now 'we are ramping up working on efficiencies'

It's not going to happen is it. Think I would rather trust a vampire giving me a hickey than a single word that comes out of their mouths

it's the routes with the most layers because you are loading an entire route into memory to put one train from that route pak into the other dlc being run. Split the routes and trains into separate PAK files

It would also be necessary to reduce the number of identical railway vehicles. Both locomotives and wagons. The largest example of a large number of versions of the same locomotive is the class 66, Dosto and his driver's wagon. All this must be loaded into the operating memory.

It's ridiculous that there are so many different examples! The dostos and DB BR 146 are the worst! Just only have either the version assigned to that route or only the latest version which carries over! At least the class 66 and DB BR 185 have different liveries but again many of identical liveries are copied and pasted over and should not be.

And those are the locomotives. Now add the wagons. The German tank car has several versions.

Actually for the DoSto, I think DTG already took the choice to bring them into the core, and all routes from TSW6 rely on that. They also did that for some freight waggons. But that is not something that can be called a solution, you cannot pull every single vehicle over time into the core, you end up with huge core PAK file, that everyone downloads whether they need the content or not.

So split trains and routes as sellable items, and sell them as bundles. But it has to be done retroactively which is impossible, and unsure how PS5 limitations could be circumvented

I've noticed that there is a version labeled as 'Train Sim World' but all the other versions are selectable. This is totally unnecessary! Only one version dedicated to each route is necessary or the core version should be the only selectable version.

There is clearly a difference in how certain trains are modelled. For instance when I drive the 390 I have never once had blurry textures in the cab. Same with the Javelin. Yet with the 350 I not only have blurry textures but you can see some of the labels on the cab controls are flickering like they’re individual layers.

The 350 has by far been the worsr culprit for blurry textures in the game. In fact it’s where I first noticed them playing the game. I don’t know what DTG (or whoever modelled it) did but it feels like there’s a significant difference in how that train was modelled compared to the ones that don’t have blurry textures.

I really think addressing that would go some way to addressing the blurry texture issues on UK routes with the 350.

Equally on the WCML routes, the class 805 and 807 are more prone to blurry textures than the 390. On my last run on Trent Valley on the full timetable I got blurry textures on the 350. I only get blurry textures on the Evero Trains when on WCML South but the textures weirdly temporarily unblur on both the Evero and 350 when passing a 390!

Keep an eye out for the Mildmay Extension using the 350 as a 450 AI. If it’s been optimised in a way to decrease the risk of environmental blur, perhaps that could be a blueprint to refinement on other routes. Or it’ll blur the hell out of everything nearby

The 350 was fine on release on WMCLS (as was the whole route) but an update a few months later caused blurs to appear and the game's been naff ever since in that regard.
Yes, the 350 is blur city, every time now.

I recently bought AAB’s Birmingham to crewe and crewe to Milton Keynes on Xbox series X and have encountered blurry textures on those routes as well as the 805 and 807.

I also bought JT Preston to Crewe recently and started having blurry textures on those routes but on Just trains route, only encountered blurry textures I believe after Wigan north western heading towards crewe.
