    I have 2 questions
    1. Why does this route only go to Boca raton instead of all the way Mangonia park?
    2. Is there room left in the timetable to potentially add Amtrak services at a later date?

As above, why not go the whole distance otherwise we end up with another Bernina line finishing at an arbitrary point.

While congratulations are in order for securing the new licence, why did you decide to go with commuter rail again? We are overdue a decent freight route with some challenging gradients - D&RGW Moffat Road, CP Kicking Horse Pass, a historical Milwaukee Road, even the cliched Marias Pass.

Some of us know from Run 8 that Florida scenery tends to be, well, a little flat and boring - so once again what is the LAMPOIL here? What is going to make people want to come back and keep driving this?

Is there any development work or feasibility study ongoing with regard to simulating I-ETMS?

    1. Why Boca Raton?
    2. Why Rotem only? Since you decided it was time for a repaint, what stopped you from adding Bombardier? And please don't answer "because two liveries".
    3. Why GP49H comes without new cars? Is adding UTDC too expensive for a deluxe locomotive? What about repainting Bombardier?
    4. How many services will GP49H have, considering that there are only 3 of them for the entire fleet?
    5. Is the Miami Amtrak station actually there? Will there be any action or it just decoration?
    6. What's new in the CSX fleet besides the suspension?
    7. I hope you did something with the sounds for Rotem, as they were too quiet and sterile in the Metrolink version.
    8. Will the headlights on the F40PH be normal or will it be the "nuclear glow" again?
    9. Where is the promised LIRR suspension?

Specifically, in light of this route, I want to ask in general: did you discussed an idea of releasing a DLC with only coaches + cabcar without a new locomotive? Like Tri-Rail UTDC with cabcar + F40PH.

I think its going to take a 3rd party developer to do a scenic freight route for USA..all we have now is H.I.S and their first route SP Hayden coming soon so depending on how that route does will determine where they go for any new routes..someone did ask on the roadmap stream yeserday if any new US third parties have signed on they said yes but just to watch in future maps etc for any news ..I have a feeling some new stuff may be announced US wise in the season of reveals in DEC as far as any new US routes DLC freight wise and maybe a few are working on some passenger stuff that DTG wont do...like a certain amtrak loco folks are really wanting...

As for the GP49H i saw in one of the photos they have of a GP49H hauling some of the rock hoppers that come with the route and they prob stand in engines for if there is any problems with other loco s.Back to the picture my guess is that there are Maintinance of way serviceswork train runs with GP49H or they have some runs and scenarios where they fill in for a broken down locomotive on commuter runs

    1. Can you share a few more details about the on-site visit? Some pics or video would be great. I'm so glad SFRTA was cooperative and accommodating!
    2. From start to finish, how long does a project of this magnitude take to complete?
    3. Other than the licensing process, what was the biggest challenge for this project?

I'm very happy to see this route and region come to fruition! I'm very eager to try it out, but from the looks of the previews, I'd like to say congrats to the DTG team on this one.

Will the CSX GE AC4400CW, GE C40-8W and the EMD SD40 be ready for substitution at the Tri Rail route?

I'm not sure if this has been asked, but will there be working safety systems on this route, besides just the alerter? If there are working safety systems, will they be present for freight also or just passenger? If not, why not?

I completely agree with this. Safety systems are crucial. On the Stamford route, freight trains lack them, and it ruins the immersion.

    1. With the metroliner cab car being introduced in 1 or 2 services, why were the remainder of Amtrak trains that run along the trackage excluded (Amfleets, Amtrak diesels)

    2. When developing this route, how were the start and end points determined?

    3. What did you enjoy most during the research process and the reference trip?

Can you please demonstrate a night run on the route? If, as we have been told, this route passes through dense urban areas and parallel to the Interstate Highway the whole area should be awash with ambient light.

And on the subject of freeways and highways, will we finally be able to see full size trucks and trailers as part of the AI traffic, missing from all previous North American routes but a fairly key part of representing the region. Even if you can’t get Mack, Peterbilt etc., licences at least an unbranded representation would serve along with the trailers?

Just a brief history on the route ..Today the route is owned by SFRTA . And previously the line was Seaboard Air Line RR then Seaboard Coast Line ,Family Lines ,Seaboard System ,then CSX ..before it was sold to SFRTA ..with CSX providing freight services Amtrak took over what was left of the SCL passenger trains..

What wagons are contributed by Horseshoe Curve? How many more playable services does this give?

What wagons are contributed by Clinchfield? How many more playable services does this give?

The article seems to indicate that the only layers come from NYT, HSC and CRR. Just to be clear, do any other routes layer onto this DLC?

as for safety systems, will it again only be Alerter + cosmetic PTC switch, or will we finally get a working PTC safety stuff to enforce signals etc?

Not route specific as such but would we be able to see how the game runs with dlss, dlaa, then with for and frame gen if possible?

Not a route-specific question, but it’d be helpful to know if/how the QoL improvements for TSW7 address some of the longer-standing bugs. Particularly for consoles. i.e. audio settings not saving correctly, looping/popping audio. As well as the more fundamental issues around textures and performance.

Would this route be considered as a good entry point to US DLC for players who (like myself) have not been interested in the country before?

Looks like it may be more similar in scope to a mixed European style operation, passenger services don't look too intensive and the freights are not 100 wagons long doing 20mph up and down hills.

Seems to be quite a bit of rolling stock content with this, I'm interested to find out what layers in as I've only got US DLC that would have come as part of a deal in the past (and never played them).

From what I've seen so far it's tipping me to get the deluxe pack as wanting the three core routes makes the cost worth it.

Will we get to see what these routes look like on console without epic or the lighting feature (which i believe consoles don't get)?

The expert locos currently have something called a "virtual conductor" where there is a signal you get while the doors are open and then a signal you get that the doors are closed and the conductor gives you authorization to leave. This signal shows up even when driving without a HUD and makes for very immersive gameplay.

Is there a way to get that signal HUDless with TSW 7's AI conductor?

In today's stream we could see, that the AC44 and the Dash8 will be available for substitution on that route.

They were mentioning about the line s heritage before SFRTA got it ..The line was former Seaboard Air Line then
seaboard coast Line family lines seaboard system ,,then became CSX then they sold the line to SFRTA and today CSX provides the freight services ..

ON the Live weather run Matt was saying the rain started too suddenly ..I lived in Florida for 13 years those rain storms can be sudden like that ,then ..Ive seen it rain on one side of the road while on other sideno rain or sun may be out..these rain storms more common in late spring summer when it s hot and high humidity ...and those showers and thunder storms are common in early am or afternoon and evening depending on the sea breezes

That could be but in game its broken. Such fast weather changes as in game are not realistic. This is the same problem as we have in TSW6 by dynamic weather... The transitions are inaccurate.

For the new freight mode, ~40 cars were generated to be moved. Yet on the stream it took 30 minutes to move 2 cars. I can see this mode taking too long to complete. It would be better if we could configure the max number of cars to be moved at the start.

The 40 cars did seem a bit much to start and for people to play it would take a long while to sort out all those cars just in the yard let alone the ones that were in industry spurs etc..and for a beginner that kind of overwhelming they should have a lesser amount to start with till get the hang of how it works..Matt did say it like a puzzle have to figure out ways to do it more efficent ..he said it also random generates each time so if you get stuck or gives one you not want can keep re generating ..but would be nice to pick how many cars you want according to your skill level or if want a shorter amount of time..

I dont think sand patch adds any playable jobs other than it lets you use the C40 8w and AC4400 to play in timetable mode services the clinchfield add a static caboose at the yard and HSC uses the NS gondolas for scrap yard local i saw in timetable while Matt was showing the 31 freight timetables available to play

I havent yet had time to watch the whole stream, so for those who did, have you noticed if they only put Alerter in passenger locos and only cosmetic PTC as usual? I mean, on one hand the routes are usually nice and engaging, nice speed and notch / brake control etc., but I kinda miss being forced to follow signals by cab systems :D

havent yet had time to watch the whole stream, but seems usual affair of Alerter + maybe cosmetic PTC switch if at all... I get that US railroads arent willing to give em detailed PTC solutions for the game, but maybe try building sth similar for in-game use that would enforce stuff? dunno

I guess same problem as Ebula

dont get me wrong, I love Metrolink routes for the challenge, speed changes, dynamic braking challenge etc., but I would love if the challenge got elevated to the level of NEC routes where the safety stuff enforcement is what keeps me on my toes :)

Hi everyone, thank you to everyone who joined the stream.

The timestamped VOD of the preview stream can be found here:

We'll close the Q&A thread now, but you can find a collection of questions and answers below:

Why did we decide to go with US commuter rail?

We picked a route which was great for both passenger and freight, which Freight Hauler could be used.

What is going to make people want to come back and keep driving the route?

It's the variety, where you have switching, local services, Freight Hauler and expresses. Also, the contrast in locomotives.

What's new in the CSX fleet besides the suspension?

There is a new feature that has been added called a Feeder Valve, which allows you to change the brake pressure to be able to haul both Passenger Cars and Freight Cars

Can you share a few more details about the on-site visit, and what was the most enjoyable thing about the reference trip?

You can find out more details about the reference trip in the article and in the scenario Mic Drop, which we show in the stream
    Article
    Video Link

From start to finish, how long does a project of this magnitude take to complete?

We started making the route around January/ February time, around 8-9 months

What was the biggest challenge for this project?

Joe (Game Designer) has had significant challenges with the timetable because there is a lot of variation in operations; it's not just where trains go up and down the line; there are a few places along the route where the passenger and freight interact with each other, which trains have to switch tracks depending on where they need to go. We are hoping you enjoy the timetable.

How long will the freight trains be?
