Train Sim World 7: Bahnstrecke Nürnberg - Würzburg Q&a Thread

BR 412 ICE 4 (as a separate purchase), BR 440, BR 442, BR 193, Dostos, BR 401 are equipped with functioning suspension or will the DB ICE 401 suffer the same fate as the BR 101 on the Ingolstadt route (which I will NEVER buy!)?

 

1. Which BR 101 will be used for the timetable? The origninal, the expert or the Nürnberg-Ingolstadt version. Personally I would prefer the expert version since it at least has the cab car and some other features that were added since the original came out.

2. Are the following freight yards/stations included?

• Nürnberg Rangierbahnhof
• Nürnberg Hafen
• Fürth Hafen
• Würzburg Rangierbahnhof

 

Cutting through the excitement on the stream, for many of us this simply comes across as another cyclostyled inter urban double track electrified red DB experience, of which the game is already awash. So once again the LAMPOIL question - what sells this route, particularly to people outside Germany?

Why do you continue to ignore Berlin - the S-Bahn Riingbahn or Heart (or preferably both) would have secured a deluxe pack early access purchase from me - as would the Moselbahn, Obereruhrtalbahn or Eifelbahn the latter two being diesel secondary main lines?

And what is the real excitement over another ICE, no doubt near silent in the cab, when you could be dropping the magnificent V200 or a 212 in the game?

 

Was the development team able to record real sounds for the new EMU 440?

The older German EMUs have sounds that I find truly unacceptable by today's standards. After the 425, I thought things were moving in the right direction, but I was really disappointed with the 430, which was released just over a year ago. To me, it’s barely better than the old 422, which I think has the worst motor sound in the game.

You wrote that the DB BR 412 will get a new timetable for Schnellfahrstrecke Ingolstadt Nürnberg. So will we see the ICE 4 on other existing routes too?

I read that part of the DB Museum at Nürnburg will be walkable and will include some easter eggs.

We could have a static model 420 to represent 420001 parked there next to the mainline like in this 2025 photo, though perhaps without the graffiti

 

Anyone else think this route will struggle on consoles.

I hope DTG won't mind me asking this question here. It's about the live weather feature, so it's more of a core feature and not a route specific question. I forgot to ask it before the previous stream.

I assume/hope the live weather feature will take all aspects of the weather into account. Amount of clouds, percipitation, but most important of all: temperature. I'm worried about it as it's the only part of the weather we have no control over in the game at this time. I would hate to do a service on a German route sometime in say decmeber, see on my weather app that it's 7°C and raining irl, only to have snow in the game iso normal rain, because the game made it -8°C.

 

Will the console stream be before or after launch? Having it after launch makes me think the console versions are in a poor state and you want people to buy blindly before the word gets out. (I expect it'll be fine until layers get added on 15th)

 

Something I also wonder about is how the dynamic weather deals with snow cover when it isn't actively snowing

 

Can you please address concerns about the core raised after last night's stream? In particular the new UI which is awful. Can we have an option to keep the TSW6 Style? Concerns also about live weather and the abrupt changes.

Is this game really ready for launch in 7 - 12 days time?

 

Has GNT correctly been implemented on the route to allow the ICE T to reach higher speeds?

Would it not have made sense to use the ICE 3 from Nürnberg Ingolstadt here instead? It is miles ahead of the KWG ICE3...

Also, what are the other substitutions mentioned here? Are they AI only or also drivable services?

Yes please and no rain or other bad weather. Sun and a minimal amount of clouds.

 

Are there any matching ICE timetable services on Kassel-Wurzburg and Nurnburg-Ingolstadt to go with this route to allow for a continuous 2.5+ hour drive via route hopping from Kassel to Ingolstadt?

This was one of the highlights of the TSW5 Frankfurt-Fulda and Frankfurt S-Bahn releases and similarly one of the achievements of AABS WCML releases for TSW6.

 

It's already been stated that the previews will be on PC to demonstrate the new PC improvements. There will be a seperate stream after the 3 previews where they run all routes on console.

 

Also, if you show live weather again, I was curious: Is it meant to be showing the live weather at the actual time you are playing or the time of the service? For example, I might be playing a morning service service but the actual time I am playing it is in the evening. So would it show what the weather was earlier in the morning or just what it is at the time I am playing?

I am guessing it is just the actual time you are playing otherwise the system would have to make a forecast if you played a service timetabled later than the actual time you are playing.

 

I'm sure I read somewhere that one of the three previews would be on console.

 

On console what's has been done to optimisation and dlc mountain in tsw7?
Will timetables leave space for free roaming using freight hauler so we can sparn in locos to use on consoles as on a few routes in tsw routes have no space to sparn in a light loco in? In timetable mode.
When you do a console stream will it have all layers or just base layers?

 

Also, would the 411 from Dresden-Leipzig not make more sense, as that has announcements etc? Or is the green stripe considered anachronistic? I don't particularly think it is.

 

I think for the ICE3 the choice is correct. Nurnberg-Ingolstadt is one of the latest routes to release, and the ownership is still low compared to either of the routes that have included an ICE3 prior. So more people can access the layer, hopefully substitution is enabled so as a player you can run the new one if you own it.

For the 411, yeah it doesnt make sense to use the TSW5 one over the TSW6 one. Both came in base routes so the reach of sales should be the same. Unless its a layering thing, and currently nothing from Dresden-Leipzig is loaded, and then its a choice to help with console performance.

 

The original article shows the ICE 3 is from Kassel-Wurzburg.



But the new article shows it the one from Nurn-Ingolstadt.



So which is it?

 

I don't pretend to know the actual answer either, but since DTG have already said no historical weather, I took that to mean that the weather will be whatever it currently is regardless of date, time, or anything else. Can you select a June date but then select live weather and get snow? On the Tri-Rail stream Matt suggested that there might be a separate article to further explain the weather updates and I think that's probably needed also.

 

Noticed that on the ICE4 you need to use a touchscreen to switch on AFB. Are touchscreens fixed for consoles? This has been a problem since 'view screen' was introduced in TSW5.

 

I noticed when the map was shown that of these only half of Nürnberg RBF was included and everything else wasn't.

So why was chosen to only represent half of RBF even though the fun shunting potential is in the other half?
And Why weren't any of the others included?

 

What is the top speed of the ice 4?

 

Turn the digital display screen view to classic in HUD & GAMEPLAY settings and you can use the screens again

 

What is the AFB doing with throttle and brake when at the set speed it like bounces around between brake and throttle? And where is the AFB Indicator on the main screen?

 

Plus the new way actually works these days. So you can choose.

Recent example: I used it on the screens for AFB on the ICE3 on Ingolstadt. And it worked

 

That uses physical buttons which have always been fine. It's clicking anything on a touchscreen that is the problem post TSW5.
