That's also the way how a majority of train travellers express their frustrations about a full train.... "Why they have such short trains".... The answer is very simple... The platforms are to short hehehe
Yeah and the problem is, that the IC had 9coaches, but with the ICE 4 you can choose an 7 car version or 12 or just skip the stop. But since the new tt period they at least have more trains
The ICEs that runs between Graz/Klagenfurt to Frankfurt have a stop at more smaller stations like Traunstein... So you have Günzburg Esslingen Weinheim Bensheim etc ect
That's not really true, the ICE4s are direct replacements for EuroCity services. The pattern is the same - see my post on the last page. The only difference in numbers is the addition of some Westbahns, but that's a different issue.
That's correct they replaced the old stok with the earlier IC1 and ÖBB coaches. Fun fact the ICE4 was originally not planed as a ICE but a IC train. ICx was the prototypical name.
Also worth noting that ICE4s on Salzburg-Rosenheim would be anachronistic with the regional trains: DB lost the contract a while back and the 111+Dostos have been replaced by Flirt EMUs from Meridian.
Ah my bad, I was talking about the Service Salzburg-Graz where now you have a direct train every hour.
