Hi there, TrainSimPlay have done it again: Yesterdays livestream had Lukas (DTG/TSG) and Dion from TSG as guests playing Nürnberg-Würzburg, and more interesting tidbits were shared in German. Here are some of them translated from the first of the three hours. Will add more later, have to go to work now. Here's the video: ICE 4: - The ICE 4 at this moment has an outdated AFB version. Will definitely be fixed - there were problems in the late stages of development. Will probably not make release though - maybe about two weeks later. - Lukas had said before that it was too complicated to make - now they made it with a lot of effort, and had to take extra care with performance by reusing assets in the cars. DTG can't make trains that don't sell well enough to justify the cost of making them - so the ICE 4 was probably only possible as a train for the Deluxe Edition, meaning costing extra. - speaking of really big trains: TSG can do the Expert RailJet because that's rather a "hobby project" and not something they depend on to make their living. - The two ICE 4 versions have different services - The ICE 4 is part of the reason for Germany to feature a little less often in TSW 6 because of its development time - its model development started one year ago / in September 2025, and model was done in February - Updated: ICE 4 will be in Nürnberg-Ingolstadt probably a couple days after release - not sure yet, they're working on it. Otherwise, it'll come to Kassel-Würzburg, and everything else is in flux - they want it to be availabe in other routes as well - FolezzWorld would like to have it in the upcoming Rhein-Niers-Bahn though that in real life features the 7-car version - Dion will "think of something" - The roadrunner functionality is not in (yet). The original sound won't be in because of copyright (Warner Bros), but Lukas will take the issue to the team. - if bought separately for 17,99 Euro, it'll work without owning Nürnberg-Würzburg Route Nürnberg-Würzburg: - timetable includes RE 19 (infamous Vectron-Dostos-Vectron combo), a NightJet service using the 1116 and a freight service using the BR 218 with Uacns cars what TSP heartily recommends - Nürnberg-Würzburg is set in 2026 - because of ICE 4 services and also because current timetables are the easiest to get - as said before: route was chosen because of good variety, and it was often requested - route has GNT (for tilting) - so the BR 411 / ICE-T can use it "natively" and will actually be faster than the ICE 4 - Lukas reckons Köln-Frankfurt to be 60 - 70 % more work than this, and route would be so big that consoles would get only reduced timetables that noone wants. - max speed on parts of the route is 200 km/h - route has lots of speed control points - beware of PZB - stations along the route have new DSA+ passenger information systems (DSA: "Dynamischer Schriftanzeiger") - route features some signals that seem odd - are realistic though, their purpose is apparently safety functions because of heavy traffic like S-Bahns approaching while an ICE whizzes through Various: - the ICE 3 layer uses the updated version from Nürnberg-Ingolstadt - BR 103 has a railtour and is otherwise used as scenery in selected places. - Settings: TSP recommends Shadow Quality "High" instead of "Epic" - saves a lot of fps with little change - ICE 1 updates: suspension is ready and will be updated with release, sounds aren't quite ready yet - they'll be updated later - AI conductor is not a physical model. Opens doors for you. Should be switched off in scenarios because it can cause problems - that will be patched later - God Mode mod seems to work in TSW 7 As said above - this is from the first of three hours, more to come in a couple of hours. If anyone wants to take over, feel free
That's fairly obvious, vehicle DLCs work independently since TSW3 thanks to the Training Center, previous ones depended on content from their associated route. But thanks for the batch of infos, some of it helps preparing for the next week.
Part two: ICE 4: - was so challenging to make because the cars have so many differences. Modeling is difficult – Lukas says that TSG has a great modeler who has been working on the RailJet alone (without loco) for half a year now, and he is quick because he loves and knows trains – a normal 3D modeler would take longer - has no conductor mode – „a bit boring with just one stop“ - the coupler cover cannot be opened as ICE 4s only use those to be towed. The necessary animation exists somewhere, though - the interior does not feature the changing mood lighting in the ICE 4, only standard blue-white light – will be forwarded as an idea to the team though - will not be livery designer compatible due to licensing restraints - the planned new timetable for Vorarlberg for the RailJet is probably the one from 2025 – when you already saw ICE 4s on that route - Should the 7-car version come at some point it will probably be a paid DLC with a discount for owners of the 12/13-car version Route Nürnberg-Würzburg / BR 440 / Layers: - Dion says this German core route is probably the one that maxes out TSW 7 the most - about half the custom assets made for Nürnberg-Würzburg are used in Nürnberg, „and that was necessary“ - scenery at Würzburg was also adjusted, got new catenary - BR 440 will have conductor mode - … and is a four-parter and therefore can run in pairs, but not triples – otherwise too long - doesn’t have line numbers like „RE 10“ or "RB 53" right now – probably due to a misunderstanding as there are numbers now, but that’s new this year. Lukas will talk to the team - doesn’t have AFB but a tempomat that only works while driving and resets itself at a stop - a modders modern timetable for Bremen-Oldenburg is to come to the game to give the BR 440 another route to run on – but later - while the BR 1440 was developed from the 440 and is very similar, it has small differences in the interior, a different software in the cab and also different „editions“. Therefore, converting the 440 into a 1440 would be much more work than just changing the shape of the cab - all trains included in the route have announcements except the Vectron - the Expert 145 is a substitution loco, not its own layer (yet?) - the updated BR 401 / ICE 1 will probably not be ported to Kassel-Würzburg because of changes in the simulation - as stated before: Talent 2 from this will be usable in Nürnburg-Ingolstadt - the Vectron-Dostos-Vectron combo can use the Railpool Vectron as that one is used in real life but the substitution doesn’t work properly yet. To be fixed - DB museum at Nürnberg has some things to see that change with time, but no services to or fro Various: - blurry texture issue: cause is known, but a core fix not sufficient - routes have to be adjusted, takes time - conductor mode has not changed for TSW 7 - temporary speed restrictions are more flexible and realistic now - early access gives you the core routes and Deluxe locos but not the layers yet – the older content releases on standard release day - there is no preload - PS5 has live weather, you need a Dovetail Live-account - TSW 7 will have an editor just like TSW 6, no changes apparently - Nürnberg-Ingolstadt has sold very well for TSG, better than Mittenwaldbahn which was already a success - favourite things in TSW 7 for Lukas and Dion: the graphic improvements and Freighthauler mode - Neckarbahn "is made for this"
