I have a question to the guys playing on a PC. With the game and the DLCs purchased on the Xbox you should be able to play the content via play anywhere on a PC too. So with the constant crashes and the blurry textures on the Xbox SX because of less power or memory I am thinking about buying a PC and playing it there. So the question is, what specs do I need or what do you guys use to play it? If the PC is stronger than the Xbox the crashes and blurryness should be solved when I am playing it there. Thanks!
You would definitely have the benefits of playing it on a PC with higher specification than Xbox, on PC you download a xbox app to play Xbox games on, and you can also use a gamepass to play other games as you can on Xbox too.
Yes thats why I wanna know which minimum specs the PC players have where the game is running well. I don't wanna spend to much money
This is something I am interested in doing. You can still customise the ini file with the Xbox version on PC and it's essentially the PC version? It's also a pity the Xbox version isn't made available on GeForce Now.
I don’t think so - my understanding is that you’ll be playing the PC version if you play via Play Anywhere on PC. Happy to be corrected if this isn’t the case, however….
Thats the question, you only get crashes and blurry textures just because the system from the Xbox is to weak so if the PC is strong enough he can handle the performance issues a lot better. Thats what I thought.
No, the Xbox PC version uses whatever memory you're PC has available. It pretty much plays like the other PC versions and can also use a lot of mods.
More interesting now is which specs are enough to let the game run smooth without buying a high end PC. I think it should be ok if its slightly better than the Xbox specs?!
You don't want to buy a pc today, which is obsolete tomorrow. You still want to play on that PC the next couple of years, and if the system requirements become higher, then you already lost. Compared to a modern PC, the Xbox Series X is weak en has hardware from more then 6 years old, so slightly better then Xbox specs is nothing. On PC you also need more overhead, as the OS is much larger and needing more RAM and CPU on it's own. You also don't want to have a GPU with only 8GB of VRAM, maybe on paper it works, but a lot of games are already limited with 8GB of VRAM. So or buy something decent for the next couple of years or don't buy anything.
I have a mid-range PC (characteristics in the signature) that handles the game quite well at 3440x1440 resolution.
I play tsw6 on a laptop with a rtx2060 through steam and never had a problem but im guessing you would have to re purchase your content again which you would probably want to avoid?
When you have the game on Xbox, you have a license for both Xbox and PC (Xbox PC app). So no need for buying it again, unless you want to play with Steam.
But what about I would buy a PC thats able to do the ultra settings? Wouldn't that system last longer? I just want to use it for TSW to get rid of these blurryness and crashes! Cause I don't think DTG is able to fix this soon. At Matts console stream yesterday he talked about the new routes run smoother and better then he started the ICE service and the Xbox crashed to the dashboard
I'm on PC. I use Steam though, not Xbox play anywhere. I don’t think that makes a difference though. I have a massively overkill system (RTX 5090, 9950X3D, 64 GB memory) and get 140-200 fps at 4K ultra settings on most TSW routes. No out of memory crashes or anything like that. If you're looking into buying a PC, just be warned prices are very inflated now for hardware due to all the demand from AI. You’ll probably want to set aside at least $1500 (or whatever equivalent in your currency) to be able to get a PC worth playing TSW on.
i've considered this but kinda at the point that i don't want to pay £2k for a decent laptop then give DTG more of my money, when every other game works absolutely fine. if we all do this, the console issues will never get resolved
Yes thats a good point but right now I am playing the early access of TSW7 so no other DLCs installed I ran a service with a 440 and the game crashed to the dashboard without any reason. Thats all you get from playing on console. Very sad.
