That's the live weather which is getting updated. They said they've made improvements specifically to Dynamic weather alongside adding Live weather. Hence just wondering what dynamic weather is like now

 

I managed to find a workaround to enable AFB for the 412. This is for when the train is already in motion, and was done on Series X. Expert mode was enabled, although I don't know if that makes a difference. As you probably know, pressing Vsoil frei does give the audible AFB activation, but then moving the lever doesn't set any speed. So, first I tried to use the 25 km/h setting, and that did work and the appropriate speed was set. After that I was able to change to Vsoil frei, and finally I was able to set AFB to whatever I wanted. So I hope that helps anybody who is having this problem, and also that DTG fixes it.

I also would note that, using Series X, I am able to interact with all the monitors and press all the buttons by pressing the "A" button for "View Screen." However, it seems like a lot of other people on Xbox can't do this? I have Digital Display Screen Mode set to Enhanced and Expert Mode set to On. So for others on Series X perhaps there is hope that you can get the screens to work as well, or else I don't know why it works for me but apparently not for some other people.

 

You can just go back to the ‘classic’ display screen view option in ‘HUD & Gameplay’. The new option hasn’t worked since TSW5 so I’ve always had it set to that.

 

Anybody know a keyboard shortcut to show/hide the freight hauler car tags?

Still getting used to this mode but seems promising.

One less than great thing I've noticed is that some ai vehicle traffic will just drive right through your train rather than wait at the crossing (observed at the yard at Ft Lauderdale).

 

Thanks! That's really useful so I'll give it a try tomorrow, I hadn't enabled AFB until i was moving.

I originally had digital display screen mode set to enhanced but couldn't interact with anything so changed that to the other option (legacy or whatever it is) I've never fiddled with the expert mode so I'll check that tomorrow as that will still be on whatever the default is.

 

Matt used dynamic weather yesterday I believe and he was telling he worked about smooth transition for it.

 

Goodness. 458.5GB on Steam is quite the download... I must admit, I thought that past DLCs weren't supported until the 15th.

 

The only trouble i had with doors was when i tripped TPWS at the destination, although i was mostly inside the platform i kept getting the prompt to unlock doors and although I did unlock them it didn't trigger. It wasn't until i managed to work out i needed to press the overspeed button. Once that was sorted, I closed the doors, moved forward a bit it recognised me unlocking the doors.

I'm happy to chalk that one up though as me pulling into the destination too fast for now though!

 

Thanks, I'm still trying to decide if I gonna buy TSW7 with the pre-order discount or just wait for a sale. I have the most interest in the UK route, for the German route I miss layers and I don't want to spent money on the ICE4 either.

The way that it is supposed to work, is that if you have set the Freight Hauler Tooltip to "Scheduler," then you can press T to toggle the car tags. However, I haven't gotten this to work on Series X and think it broken. So, the only way to see the tags that currently works is to have them always-on, unfortunately.

As far as the traffic at crossings, it was also shown on the stream for FTR that the vehicles didn't necessarily stop at crossings and would drive right through gates and trains. This problem was also very common on SBD. Not a great look.

 

If it's Steam and possibly Epic, I don't believe that DTG have a say in the release time, the store platforms do ... I could be wrong, but it's been discussed somewhere before.

 

But this should be exactly the condition under which it should still work properly and if it's not that's problematic.
This is the real benchmark, not "just a few or no layers" or something.

 

Oh ye that's a good point, if DTG had no say or couldn't release it earlier, then I take that back, but it's still slightly annoying, I was hoping for a lengthy first look.

Not sure how random it is, but both sessions I loaded had a more reasonable number of cars (24 and 33) to move than we saw in the first stream.

Some bad news, doesn't seem like the save game works well with FH.

I completed 4 cars, saved the game, loaded up a little later and immediately got the "disappearing upper-left HUD" bug, so I just quit out.

Really hoping the launch day patch can smooth some rough edges, cause it is fun (if you like switching).

Desperately needs a switching list feature imo. Not many players are gonna be patient enough to write their own with paper & pen.

 

Glad it works for you, and we have now shown that it works but not on Xbox. Total shocker, that one.

24 is good, the least I have seen so far is 29. We definitely need to be able to set this.

Disappointing about save game, if not surprising. Of course, Freight Hauler will be pretty limited for most people if it does not play nice with save game. This definitely needs to be looked at.

There are a lot of issues right now but I agree it is fun and there's a lot of potential.

The switching list is a great idea! Right now I have a rake of 20 cars that need sorting. You should consider putting that idea in the official Freight Hauler feedback thread:

Well there it is folks, TSW7s routes work on TSW6. Another year, another pointless redownload of everything. :/
