Xbox PC [resolved] Tsw 6 Profile Does Not Transfer To Tsw 7

I have just started Train Sim World 7 Early Access using the Xbox app on my Windows PC.

On first startup, TSW7 takes me directly to Character Select. Selecting a character then requires me to enter a Player Profile Name. I am not being offered an obvious opportunity at this point to import my existing TSW6 profile.

Be careful before entering the same profile name you used in TSW6.

Dovetail’s own support documentation states that you cannot import an existing profile if a profile with the same name already exists in the new game.

I am particularly concerned because I encountered essentially this same problem when moving from TSW5 to TSW6 on Xbox PC. I spent several hours working with Dovetail Support on it and ended up with multiple profiles while trying to resolve the issue.

Before proceeding further with TSW7, I would like Dovetail to clarify the correct procedure for an Xbox PC player who wants to import an existing TSW6 profile without first creating a conflicting TSW7 profile.

If a temporary profile must be created first in order to reach My Profile → Switch → Profile → Import Profile, that should be made very clear on the initial setup screen.

I am posting this now so that other returning Xbox PC players don’t inadvertently create a conflicting profile while going through first-time setup.

 

Had the same issue although i fixed it by using my actual xbox.

 

When selecting a profile for TSW 7, it doesn’t give me the option to select my existing one from TSW 6. I have both games installed under the same account, same drive, and same folder, but it still won’t transfer.

 

I have the same issue. This happened in previous TSW annual launches. Hopefully it's fixed quickly as it's a bit frustrating losing the progress. Might play other routes on TSW6 until it's addressed which is a shame. The game looks sooo much better in TSW7 with the new lighting, DX12, DLSS, Epic mode etc!

 

Thanks dtg_jan appreciate the confirmation it's being looked at. The original post said "should become available" but wasn't sure if that meant being actively worked on vs hoping it "should become available" so this is reassuring

Was able to import the profile now. Hopefully it's fixed now for all although sharing it was a 2nd PC I used in case not
