Downloading as we speak to play once home. With early access what trains are available to use. Is it just the 66, 331 and 333 or is the 801 also included with the base game. I know there other layers come out on the 15th

Give its connection to Leeds, I do wonder how route-wise they're going to manage the Leeds-ECML connection.
Perhaps Doncaster-Darlington with an offshoot to Leeds? That would connect three routes together nicely.

Complete lack of stop boards is my only major complaint right now. Also, the 333 seems to have some weird bug with closing the doors?

New camera system is ruining everything for me though. Can’t even walk properly anymore.

Yea with walking you keep slowing down or stopping.

Who on earth at DTG sat there and thought “yeah, this is good”. Baffles me, every time.

From what Matt was describing it sounds like they just discovered what analog acceleration is, won’t be trying it until Tuesday but I had hoped they’d have including a sensitivity setting for it?

Having the stick at max acceleration sounds awful & I can only imagine any more than a slight movement of the stick will be uncontrollable.

Honestly all we needed was some deadzone settings, sensitivity settings & the broken fast camera fixing.

Is there at least an option to choose the old style scheme? They implemented that option when they’ve significantly changed other controller functions.

The 331 is a much better train currently - ironic considering the 333 is the “deluxe”.

From the console stream and feedback so far and with the amount of "we can fix these things that the community has reported for years in a week". I think I'm sadly giving this a pass.

Which sucks. I'm console due to my PC hardware, so no mods, no TSC and this is one of my local routes. Hell, my Dad worked on the S&T up the route for years. Including through the electrification and resignalling. He helped get the Azumas cleared signal interference wise. So to not be able to play it sucks.

And I'm a software engineer, so I do totally understand how hard things are to reproduce across platforms (we ship mobile apps for phones and tablets as well as being web based). We don't have many mobile testers, but we do have them. We know what the bugs are much earlier than a public demo 24 hours before we start shipping to our fast ring.

I suppose if the bugs get fixed, then they've earned the extra it costs versus the current discount.

I don’t really understand it. There is a stick sensitivity slider than goes from one to ten, but doesn’t seem to change anything, and then you’ve got ‘rotation speed’ and ‘move speed’ (I think). It’s got slow, medium and fast - the slow is far too slow, then when you get to medium, you can fling the camera around at supersonic speed which is horrendous. I haven’t dared try fast.

You can still move it very slowly with a small stick input, but when you move it all the way it just goes bananas. It’s hard to describe but it’s just awful.

And, what’s the most infuriating, when you try to go up AND to the side to move the camera, so a diagonal stick movement, it slows down to an absolute snails pace. Same happens when walking.

I really hope it doesn’t stay like this.

Doncaster to York via Leeds would be great route to have plus another route for the 333 for Doncaster to Leeds

I have to say it’s a nice route - no major performance issues noticed on Xbox so far.
Small teething issues with out of sync announcements, the 333 is a little buggy, lack of passengers at Leeds but apart from that it’s been enjoyable so far.

I have rotation speed on slow, and move speed on fast, which works great in the cab and external view for me, but the player character then turns as slow as molasses on-foot.

No way I believe anybody from DTG tests this game on a gamepad. Yet another cut corner lol.

Okay, so I know I don't have that powerful of a PC but 11fps AT LEEDS, ARE WE DEAD SERIOUS, also why on earth is the 801 running on diesel mode on Ai, 801's diesel engines are only for emergency use.

My laptop struggled in Leeds as well. Hoping it improves with some shader caching, but if not I might need to dial down some settings a bit.

Overall I quite like it, but I'm a big fan of networks in general, so I'm a bit biased. The 331 is easy and fun to drive, and I really like the improvements to the 801. Haven't gotten a run in the 333 yet- hoping for some time tonight.

Just had a quick first run from Skipton to Leeds in the 331 - pleasantly surprised actually, I think the streams don't do the sim justice until you experience it yourself. The lighting is nice, feels more realistic to me especially in the conditions I ran it in, using live weather at 730am ish, very British grey conditions with low stratus, dewey wet ground and a bit of wind, very nice. The 331 also feels nice to drive, immersive. Using the auto guard, the doors are working auto but no guard buzzer? Maybe it's not setup for that.
Also it seems that frame gen works for my old gtx1080 which I thought wasn't feasible, the sim runs at 30 but nvidia says it's at 60fps. Certainly feels like 60, so that's a win with my old setup.
All in all, pleased with my purchase so far, looking forward to trying the US freight stuff.

Only had time for a couple of runs so far (Skipton to Leeds in the 801, Ilkley to Bradford FS in the 331) but really impressed so far. If Cardiff was the proof of concept for this type of route then this is definitely the real deal.

On XSX so it’s just the out of the box locos so far (ie nothing extra to hammer the texture pool) but has performed well with no blurries or any egregious frame rate dips.

Hopefully I’ll get time tonight to get stuck in to it properly and do some of the freight runs out of Rylstone.

Just wondering if the lack of car stop signs in the route is as per reality. There are a few but not at all stations.

    Hey guys.

I've created a small branding patch mod, for those that want the real life visuals on the station name signage.

(Known issues: There's an issue with some of the bigger signs at Leeds and a weird bug for the signs at Shipley, however all other stations are fine.)

Just for note regarding camera. I use the following which is the best I have found this far.

    9 sensitive
    Slow camera
    Slow Rotation

Rotation can also be at medium and sensitive can go higher. Just personal preference

Found the high sensitive setting eliminates the issue regarding directional inputs.

Wish they would have a percentage on Rotation speed as would personally would prefer somewhere between Slow and medium

Lots of lucky people enjoying the PC mods so far. What’s the verdict on the console front? I am still deep in decision making territory for Tuesday!

Question, if it's supposed to be based on a 2025 tt, why are EMT Class 43s present in the tt, and did these railtours actually happen, because they just feel strange. Also the performance is still shocking at Leeds, on my end anyway

Tyler said in the preview stream he added it just so there would be more trains running on the line. He also said you can just remove the layer using the layer selection UI if you don't like it.

Played on PS5 since yesterday. Game is very stable. Good frame rate and no blurring. Route is busy and interesting with lots of diagrams. Will be even busier on Tuesday once other stock populates the route.

I have seen quite a few Yorkshire stations without stop boards. The driver just stops before the end of the platform.

See below Shipley platform 5 no stop boards

I have to say after a few initial issues with conductor mode and being slightly underwhelmed at first I’ve ran 2 services this evening and I’ve been blown away by the new lighting and Epic graphics in TSW with the addition of live weather it really brings this route to life!

Just want to give a shout out to the Rylstone branch as no one seems to have mentioned it - absolutely superb. Looks great and is a real challenge trying to stick to the low speed limits over some quite steep gradients. Considering it’s only 6 miles it takes ages but never found it dull - genuinely one of my favourite freight experiences in the game. Have only done part 1 of the run out of Rylstone so far so looking forward to working through the rest.

Also nice that you can see the far end of the Embsay and Bolton Abbey railway - the scenery is very similar to that line as well.

Ugh please don’t tell me they do the same thing as the 350’s, where it flings you into the cabs’ windscreen

Pretty sure the acceleration is prototypical - 331s fly once they set off.

Yup, on acceleration the 350’s are faster than the 333 (not by much), then the 331’s have about 40% more acceleration speed than the 350’s. They’re jet engines by any measure.

    Evening guys.

Another small mod for the Airedale and Wharfedale Line - this time for the Northern Class 331.

This mod replaces the generic looking headlight and marker lights visuals with high definition visuals, of which you'd see in real life on this train.

The CAF logo has also been added to the front of the train.

    Enjoy!

Ok, that was probably a combination of the 331 being a rather detailed or poorly optimised train and the fact it was my first run on the route, it's smoothed out a little but, emphasis on little, so I can now play this route without looking at the floor.

Works fine for me, with the only caveat that sometimes there's a single long buzz instead of two short ones.
Are you setting the reverser to neutral when you stop?

Does it require the right brakes on? Is it a problem every time or a train fault?

Not sure what it is. I have noticed that AI Conductor keeps turning itself off every time I close and reopen the game, so maybe it’s that. I have the stupid random events turned off.

Played this route for the first time today driving the 331. I think it’ll be my new East Coastway route. Really enjoyed it. Looks brilliant and I think there’ll be a lot of playability in it.

One thing I noticed was that a crossing never went up after both my train (passing the crossing to stop at the station) and a passing Class 66 consist also cleared the crossing.

Yeah, I'm also having issues with the doors. They initially closed without intervention from me on the "realistic" AI conductor setting and now they don't close. I'm also having a ridiculous number of door-related train faults - 4 on the first scenario alone (a short run with just 4 stops) even though I've set train faults to "Low" in the menu. Looks like I'm also going to have to disable random events.

I downloaded the entire TSW7 and all content on Thursday evening. It didnt finish uploading until bedtime.
My only chance to play it was on Saturday. I racked up 17hours playing it!

    Its utterly incredible!!!

I visited the route in real life to refresh my memory the weekend before. And yp, they have captured it so well
