Wow, I have to say I am very impressed with the performance improvements on TSW7! Using DLSS, I can now max the graphics settings and run consistently at 120-140fps. No more 40-60 on Medium-high. A huge immersion booster. It finally feels like my PC is no longer being restrained by the technology of decades gone by. The loading times going back to the main menu after driving a service has improved from 30 seconds in TSW6 to less than a second in TSW7! A big well done and thank you DTG.
Have to say I'm really impressed with the tsw7 upgrade. big upgrade for me with a 4060 laptop set up. Done a run on mk to crewe as well, and it's much better. smooth at 60 fps
This is the first I’ve heard of this problem. In TSW6 loading from the results screen to the main menu takes 2–3 seconds for me.
I have a Ryzen 9 3900x, a RTX 4070 and 32 MB RAM. Using 1920x1080 and DLSS DLAA I get decent picture quality but only about 20 fps in Nuremberg and about 30 on the route, having most settings on medium or high and Enhanced Lighting. Changing settings lower or even higher don't seem to do much about it. I have a good amount of German and some British stuff installed.
As you have a 4070, try using smooth motion in the nvidia app. Doing this, You may find you can also increase screen percentage to give you a better image quality and move more of the workload to your gpu.
The loading time back to the main menu was always a bit of an annoyance for me in TSW6, especially if I just wanted to quit the game. The improvement in TSW7 for me is massive, its almost instantaneous. Maybe it was to do with the number of dlc installed or something.
You're CPU bottlenecked. If you don't wanna buy new RAM a 5700X3D/5800X3D would give you better framerates.
try DLSS Quality instead or Balanced that is already pretty good to look at when playing Performance Impact DLAA: Decreases frame rate (FPS) compared to native resolution because running the AI anti-aliasing filter takes extra GPU power. DLSS Quality: Increases frame rate significantly over native and DLAA because the card has to shade fewer base pixels. [1, 2]
Your CPU is considerably weaker than your GPU, which will be causing problems at Nuremberg for certain.
Yeah, I've tried the things suggested here. It's playable in HD, but the German route is quite demanding. The UK one runs a little better, and Miami quite smoothly. I'll have to update at some point - if only the hardware prices were so exorbitant right now...
I'll think about that, thanks! EDIT: Just noted that I missed the x in my first post - it's a 3900x. In articles, the 3900x is listed as better all-around, but the 5800x3D has better single-core performance - is that what makes the difference?
