Good Afternoon, I downloaded the deluxe edition of TSW7 and played a career scenario as a test run to see how my system would perform. It was the 1st career scenario for the Tri Rail Route and I must say, to my surprise, I am quite happy with how TSW7 is currently running so far. I have the epic preset enabled with graphics settings set to epic where possible. At 60fps with epic settings, so far it is running smoothly on the TriRail route. In training center, I was reaching 20-29fps with the BL36PH training scenario though. Below are my system specs and settings I have enabled. For my current PC specs, should certain settings be reduced or are they fine the way they are? By the end of this year, I am planning to do a mid life overhaul of my current gaming PC rig, swapping my RTX3070 8GB GPU for an RX9070XT 16GB GPU so I have more performance and VRAM available. I'd say in around 3-4 years, I am planning to build a whole new system that is AMD powered that I can transfer the RX9070XT to. I am sure my mileage will vary for each route at the current moment. My goal is to run all graphics settings maxed out as smoothly as possible with my current setup. Who knows, maybe I don't need a new GPU but would be nice to have the extra VRAM and extra performance Current Gaming PC Specs: Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Midtower Case Motherboard: Gigabyte Z690 UD AX DDR4 ATX Graphics Card: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3070 8GB GDDR6 OC Edition Processor: Intel Core i7 12700K LGA 1700 @ 3.6 Ghz Cooler: CoolerMaster MasterAir MA612 Stealth Memory: 32GB DDR4 G.Skill Ripjaws CL16 RAM @ 3600Mhz in Dual Channel BOOT Storage: 1TB WD_Black SN850X NVME SSD @ 7300 MB/s TSW7 Storage: 1TB WD_Black SN850X NVME SSD @ 7300 MB/s Fans: Corsair SP120 @ SP140 with Corsair iCue Commander Core XT Smart RGB Fan Controller Power Supply: EVGA Supernova G2 1000W 80+ Gold PSU from 2016 UPS: APC Backup UPS 1500VA OS: Windows 11 Home Monitor: 165hz ASUS VG278QR 27" 1920x1080
One question : Can you change your "screen percentage" with your actual settings or not ? I can't change this if the dlss is ON.
dlss uses screen percentage in its own way i think i do not recommend using DLAA at all use quality or balanced DLAA is very power consuming and if the psu or cables are not of the best quality it could cause problems could!
That would be too much for a 3070 to be honest. My recommendation would be get the Lossless scaling program as you can’t use smooth motion with a 30series card. Cap your in-game fps at 30 and use lossless scaling to give you 60. Plenty of vids on YouTube on how to use it. My second recommendation (in fact do this regardless of whether you get lossless scaling) is to drop your DLSS mode to Ultra Quality or Quality, that will help matters a lot. DLAA is really for higher end cards. Thirdly, if you’re still struggling drop the shadow settings one notch in the graphics menu, followed by view distance and then foliage quality (the latter will introduce the foliage pop-in but that might be just something you have to live with). I’d imagine that if you do 1 and 2 though you won’t need to touch 3.
does foliage quality not just putting more foliage at place's? i had it at highest and had some popping only fiddling with the ini distance settings it did improve and was able to get rid of it almost completely
No, foliage settings include more than that now. There shouldn’t be any need to use ini settings full stop, there is no foliage pop-in with epic settings. The viewdistance and foliage lods are both set higher than they were in the latest beast preset of the mod.
