I find it insulting and stupid that DTG lies to it's playerbase and often pushes out unfinished/unpolished DLC, and on top of that having the nerve to increase prices due to the TSW7 routes being "premium quality".

I've just been reading the reviews on the XBOX store (of which there are very, very few considering a free version is listed as well) and judging by some of the comments I get the general impression that gamers are maybe a little fed up of the, erm, less than ideal methods Dovetail Games adopt when releasing content onto consoles. I'm also not particularly impressed that they advertise TSW with screenshots from the PC version to give the impression the game looks better than it actually is. Highly misleading stuff.

One thing that did impress me though was native Steam Deck performance. I was easily getting 80-90fps with low detail settings so there's plenty of scope to improve overall quality at the expense of framerates. Granted, it was only the training centre and things will probably change with full blown routes....but if anyone wants to donate a key (for any addon....I really don't care which one) I'll be more than happy to investigate the matter further;)

Unsure, assuming the same as previous.

However, I won't be purchasing (as I assume most others may agree), until the enhanced lighting has been added to consoles and tested. I just don't see that for the sake of AI conductor and live weather, that this is honestly deserving of an upgrade.

If the enhanced lighting is not to be implemented, I'll stay on TSW6, because I see no reason besides this.

I stuck to my plan, got the free version, 390gb downloads later (thank goodness for 1gb fibre broadband!), all good, and tbh, it's decent - the UI colours and font are very odd, really no idea why they've changed except to make it look "new", but no issues with performance even with the sliders up to ultra and epic.

Glad I didn't fork out for the deluxe pack, but as annual upgrades go, feels like one of the better ones. Probably not a coincidence that FTG have seemingly started to invite talented modders inside the tent a bit more

I get it, because it really feels like a game changer to me, the best feature by far. I wasn't massively looking forward to this new iteration but the new graphical features really do immerse the player. Hopefully they'll sort something out.

Driving a HST on GWE last night was the best experience I have ever had with TSW. Buttery smooth and great lighting on a busy route.

I really hope they can sort something out for consoles so they can experience it too.

But certainly I don't feel the new version is slop. I will add the Leeds route at some point and can't wait to see what the AAB and JT routes look like. Be interesting to see what the Tadami line looks like.

I do agree with others that the UI colours aren't ideal. Although I've never been a big fan of the menus.

I'm on XBOX Series X and have to say that the night lighting on the new Airedale route is great and the route is running well in general even though I've downloaded all but one of the compatible layers.

Gamepad sensitivity is all over the place, though - absolutely horrible. It's sluggish to start - like walking through treacle - and then far too fast all of a sudden. No amount of tweaking in the menus solves all the issues. I wish we could go back to TSW6 gamepad settings....
