It seems a growing and rather angry (understandably) collection of us console users are reporting multiple issues with TSW7 compared to 6.

FPS has dropped considerably on almost all routes. Previously brilliant and smooth routes such as East Coastway and Medway are now stuttering far too much. London to Brighton even worse so.

AI conductor mode just isn’t working the way it should, and for me it was really the only selling point in getting the freebie.

But now it seems previously fixed patched issues such as the absolute headache of traction sounds on the Medway Valley Class 375 have returned. And given how it didn’t really become clear what the issue was and how it was fixed, it doesn’t exactly scream quick fix on the horizon.

My advice would be to console players who haven’t wasted their hard earned cash on this dire iteration, delete the starter pack, redownload TSW6 and wait for this to be in a state where it should be released.

Personally, I am absolutely sick to the back teeth of the ineptitude of the quality assurance here, and blame needs to also lay at PlayStation for not facilitating a testing area like other platforms do. But the ultimate blame here lays with DTG. Completely sick of it, having spent considerable amounts of money on your products. You’re damn lucky that consumer protection for gaming is so watered down compared to other products, because this is bordering on misselling. It’s disgraceful.

Fix it for your customers, and start treating us like customers, not some casual mates community whose goodwill can be exploited time and again.

    Livid. Rant over.

Well it was something we could expect. I was considering to buy TSW7 for the UK route, but I'm happy I didn't. I claimed the free starter pack, but no reason to install it. So I'm still on TSW6 and I guess I stay on there for a while. I read MML has problems to now with the guard buzz because it was already on there, the GSM module on Medway Valley seems to be bugged too and we even don't know what more.

Even on PC it isn’t brilliant, certainly on lower spec machines. I’m playing around with DLSS but have to say wth broadly the same settings, in fact one or two dialled down a notch, I’m getting worse performance in 7 than I did on the same routes on my old GTX 1650 in 6 let alone the nice boost my RTX 3050 did. So something, somewhere slipped and the only reason I’m likely to stick with 7 is that support for 6 including content patches is now dead and buried. But the game engine or how DTG are using it desperately needs to visit the emergency room for surgery unless DTG want the game to be exclusively for high end PC’s only. It’s certainly not going to encourage me to buy any of the forthcoming new content for it.

Just FYI Sony does have alpha & beta environments available, either DTG haven’t checked or they purposely mis-communicate them not having a beta there.

I’m currently in 3 testing environments, the more well known Battlefield Labs which is regularly testing their seasonal content updates & other large patches that are due for the live game, currently in 2 other NDA’d alpha builds. You get beta builds for CoD every year, Rainbow Six Siege had their beta which was so popular it stayed live until the game launched etc.

Another closed branch is Warthunder’s which is much more technical than BF’s, so there’s a wide range of environments clearly supported, whether it’s something like CallOfDuty that have mass-access beta’s, BFLabs which is more selective, WT’s which are very early builds of new content & even engine testing for entirely new side game add-ons. Ubisoft does alpha testing for games that don’t ever release or are still in early production.

It’s not like you need to be big dev houses either. Astragon did beta testing for their latest bus sim, TML did the same with TheBus prior to its PS5 launch.

Oh really. I started to move DLC bit by bit over last night. Maybe I'll stick with 6 for now then.

The GSM-R on Medway is not bugged and works exactly as it should. Where have you heard that?

Pleased to report the GSM-R works fine for me on PS5 TSW7, but the audio issue sadly has returned. I hope it's not too much of a pain for you guys like last time. TSW6 Medway remains working correctly, with all audio present

I have just downloaded the free core version of TSW7 and would like some advice on the differences I can expect on previous compatible UK routes compared to running them on TSW6.

Is it worth the effort putting these old routes onto TSW7?

I have an Xbox Series S console.

The audio issue has returned because the update that wasn’t supposed to be pushed got pushed. We’re working on it now with DTG

I can not say TSW7 is more worse then TSW6.….. instead it runs smoother with less stress on my GPU. DLSS and DLAA are amazing!!!

I'm on Series S with all my UK DLC installed on TSW7. It seems fine. Graphically there are some nice new features, better lighting etc, reflections. I'm sticking to HD as opposed to 4k graphics to be safe, but it had defaulted to 4K and looked stunning.
There are a couple of hiccups with the AI guard in a few of the scenarios I'd run through so I turned it off. I've not had chance to do any timetables yet, and not sure whether to turn it back on for that.

I have lost to bits of transferable DLC from TSW 6 which i had in Previous version of TSW not they i lost any sleep over it as it was spirit of Steam & West Somerset in my Opinion the worse to routes in the game no plans to re-purchase them either.

Other than that after 7 versions of the game there is very little difference 6 & 7 we can only presume that come this time next year we will be playing a mere updated version in the form of TSW8 take a ticket???

AI guard needs a good bit of patching. Units are being configured incorrectly with the guard riding up front, or ringing one bell for example as opposed to two. Personally I’m happy enough to toggle the AI guard selection when loading up a new game rather than having it as default but appreciate the majority seem to want the settings to save which is fair

Thanks for the info, it looks like support didn't know that. Does the Expert mode not coming over when you import your profile from TSW6 or did this player create a complete new profile?

No idea. I checked all my settings when I switched to TSW7. It has always been the case on Medway that certain things on the 375 are tied to expert mode, the GSM-R being one of them.

Did you notice it in Airedale & Wharfedale in Midnight from platform 0 scenario the sound goes completely in places or fades dramatically on Br-class 311 & the AWS on the Class-66

Don’t know but that’s nothing to do with Firefly.
