In TSW7 I can't for the life of me get the brakes to come off in the Class 47/4 BLU. I can use the BR blu and its fine, I put the brake lever into running mode and the pressure gauge slowly drops to zero but this does not happen in the 47/4 BLU. Am I doing something wrong or is this is bug?
There should be a little dial on the cab wall behind the drivers seat saying what brake setting you're in. Go for vaccum passenger for passenger services, vaccum goods for freight services, air goods for mail services, and anything when running light. Try holding the brake lever in overcharge to make the brakes release quicker. There should be a dial on the hud with 2 needles going down simultaneously, when that reaches 0, apply power, if nothing happens, make sure the reverser is set in your desired direction of travel, or make sure the throttle lever is in off, then apply power. Note that the brakes will take a moment to apply when at speed, so just be ready for that. From reading your message, I'm getting the impression that you've just bought a BR era route like Northern Trans Pennine, Blackpool Branches, and WCML Preston to Carlisle. If this didn't help, try the in-game tutorial.
Is it the brakes or the traction lock that's the issue? Is there a red box around the throttle setting on the HUD? If so then it could be the throttle lock. In which case look on the back wall of the cab for the change ends lever (I think it's white) and make sure it's switched to "on". Then master switch on, reverser to forward, brakes off, throttle on and you'll hopefully start moving! Worked for me, anyway.

There must be something wrong with that Class 47/4 BLU variant, I get in the cab, switch the change end lever up, look at the brake pipe gauge and its reading 3, the second I press E to sit in the seat there is a hiss and that gauge drops to zero, no other variant does that, I have tried every single one including other 47/4's. There are two other class 47/4 at least one of which also uses the mk2 coaches like the BLU too, and it works perfectly. As far as I am concerned the Class 47/4 BLU is bugged.
The only thing I can think the hiss to be is the DSD pedal underneath the dials/gauges being released, if the loco is in forward or reverse, and no one is sat down, it might start applying the brakes. The brakes will release if the DSD pedal is pressed
It's not in forward or reverse and the hiss only starts after I sit in the drivers seat, not doing anything else, just sitting down and the pipe gauge falls to zero. If you have the Crewe to Preston route, perhaps you could try the "On Foot Mode" timetable option, starting at Preston. Walk down the ramp and bare left to the platform, spawn the Class 47/4 BLU with the loco facing south and see if you get the same issue or can find a way to resolve it. The locos reverser is
I can replicate this issue with the Northern Trans-Pennine 47/4 (but not the other 47/4 versions). It happens when you have "Enable Safety Systems by Default" turned on. I'm not sure precisely what's going wrong...
