On Xbox SX - Saving the amount of layers you want to use on a route resets to full layers again once you restart the game. Please fix this soon!
Hi im xbox series x and it really blurry on route with half of layers deactivated. See picture Doncaster/Peterborough route. That is probably the least worse one.
Strange isn’t it, i was pulling into London Paddington in a 165 when the texture became blurry about 1.1 km away from it, but it fixed by itself when I got about 600m away from the station, where all of the HSTs load in.
Conductor/guard mode on the 331 has a lot of bugs. After unlocking the local door the UI prompts to press the red door release button. After pressing the door release, although the doors open, the UI still prompts to release the doors (does not acknowledge that doors are already released. This means can't see any prompts on how long to wait/when to depart. When departing, after pressing the blue door close/lock button the doors usuallu close. Then when turning key to mid position (buzzer) the local door closes correctly but the train immediately sets off even though the green signal buzzer button has not been pressed On double car 331s passengers with tickets are often in the other (inaccessible) half of the train and unreachable. On double car 331s the panels sometimes only operate the doors on 1 car of the train (the one that the panel is in) Ui markers sometimes prompts to open the doors on the wrong side of the train and wont progress to next step if operating the correct side instead. The stuck UI prompts mean that it does not inform how many tickets to check Often no tickets to check on a whole route despite passengers getting on/off These problems happen even with AI conductor turned off.
The Ai conductor doesn’t seem to work if you start another service straight after finishing one ( without exiting to the menu ) . I arrived at Ilkley from Leeds , changed cabs , and the AI conductor was unable to close the local door . This happened at every stop on the way back to Leeds , and I had to walk to the local door to manually close it using the guard panel. This is with ai conductor on realistic on pc / steam .
PC Steam. First a huge positive; the epic settings and new lighting are superb if you've got the horsepower. On my PC (Ryzen 7 5800X, RTX 4070 TI Super, 64GB RAM) I've only done one run so far, but I picked a demanding one in Birmingham to Crewe - with Nvidia Smooth Motion and DLAA, I can maintain my TSW6 setting of 45fps locked in game, getting 90fps, with only some drops in fps in demanding areas. And that was on a first run so shaders were being cached, with everything turned up to Epic apart from Sky Quality (left that on Very High). I'm basically getting the same performance fps-wise, with much better visual fidelity (flickering and pop-in now virtually nil), so I'm very happy there. Now the not-so-positive. I'll add my name to those calling for a dark mode UI. The new UI is just too bright with white and grey text among a grey background. "Investigating if we're able to support a darker UI menu option" is not good enough, it's an accessibility basic requirement after moving from a dark UI to a light one, to make sure that those with visual impairments are supported. My eyes get tired more quickly with brighter backgrounds, thanks to some laser eye surgery a couple of years ago, so for me it's not a 'nice to have'. The track monitor looks awful now with the 'Distance' box overlapping it. I get that the default font size had to be increased for Steam Deck certification, but could we have the option to reduce the font size? And in any event, move the 'Distance' box to the left so that it doesn't overlap? Similarly, the size of the objective marker in the game world could do with a font resizing option, as it is also bigger than before. Also on UI: in TSW5 we lost the clockface timer in the normal HUD, and instead were forced to use the barber's pole from the minimal HUD. I've never liked the barber's pole, so could we please have a choice of timer? There could be options of, say, a barber's pole, clockface and a digital countdown. Basically, a lot of my feedback is about choice. Design choices never please everyone, so why not give us more choice in how the UI looks? I play World of Warcraft a lot, and they've found a way to let people customise their screen for size and position of each screen element.
Seconded. It's so hard to see with a progress bar with perceived retrograde motion, when it's about to finish.
The state that this game has released in, and the choices made beggars belief. But then again, it doesn't. It's the modern world we live in. No accountability, No Repercussions. No Testing. When there are none of the above, the attitude is, take it or leave it. For the first time ever, I have taken the free edition. I will leave the rest.
Route 2H08 Leeds to Skipton at the very start unlock doors for passengers and not sure if this is intended but no passengers on the platform or got into the train at all.
Not sure if already mentioned, but if you set safety systems to being "Off" in the Options menu, but enable them on the train in game, when you load a saved game they are switched off again. Just had this with a 153 on Birmingham to Crewe, I activated the AWS/TPWS and the vigilance at New Street but when I returned to the run both are off.
Either worked in the past. Barber pole is fine. It's just the whole new organization of the interface that makes it clash. It's like too many people not working together on the same project. Again, little things like this could be previewed earlier to see if people liked them first without revealing anything "secret." "Hey everyone, we're thinking of changing the text from this color to this color. How do you like it?" "Hey, we want to change to a bigger font. This is what it would look like. Better or worse?" Then again, it'd even work with the bigger projects if there was at least a vague notion of how they'd work. "Here is what were thinking about for how an AI conductor works... is this what you guys were looking for?" "This is how our freight randomizer works in theory... are we on the right track?" Instead it's say nothing, release a thing and then act shocked when people have opinions. =-)
thank you. When I've been attempting it, I've done it like how I was taught to do a hill start in a car (handbrake on, keep the revs up then release the handbrake)
Just a simple progress bar would be better than the pole. It's the way the pole is animated such that it appears to be moving in the opposite direction to the direction it is filling up in. It's supposed to convey information, not be a cool optical illusion.
Monthly mastery details still don't fit in the UI, cut off on the right. This is disappointing to see when the UI has supposedly had a major rework. With all the wasted space to the right, there's just no reason for this.
A lot has been said about the UI colour scheming already, but I really dislike all the dots on the screen. Also the holding back of loading route thumbnails to make the game load quicker when completing a service has just made things worse as now they all load after the menu does, which can make navigating the menu to become kind of laggy and unresponsive for a few seconds, which is arguably even worse than waiting
Time for some feedback! I finally had some time for TSW7 and put it through some incredibly rigorous testing My opinion so far: The new UI is... an acquired taste. While I don't dislike it, the background graphics in this dotted look gives it a restless, frazzled feel. Giving the new routes the same, dotted background was a terrible decision in my eye and make the new route icons blend in and stand out at the same time... and not in a good way, if that makes sense. The options menu still could use an overhaul, I still have to search multiple areas for certain settings and functions, and sometimes the descriptions are bad, misleading or nonexistent. Haven't tried out many of the new features yet, but did some trial runs on existing routes, and tested Nürnberg-Würzburg and the 440 a little. Mind you, I got a rather good PC (AMD Ryzen 9800X3D, Geforce RTX 5080, 64GB RAM...) so I gave the full blown Epic settings a try And boy, this really is a game changer, literally! I haven't used jetwash's mod on TSW6, so consider my mind blown. Just a couple of days ago I thought that TSW3 routes like Linke Rheinstrecke or Niddertalbahn are starting to show their age, but this enhanced lighting breathes new life into them! And I did an early-evening run on Mittenwaldbahn in fair weather, few clouds, low hanging sun... visual poetry Now I really feel sorry for the console people even more... So far, all routes I did seem to run just as well as they did on TSW6 with my modified engine.ini, but look way better now. I'd even say that some of them are running smoother, like S-Bahn Frankfurt. I approached Frankfurt Hbf in a 423, way less stuttering and hitching than on TSW6. On the other hand, the hitching on Stuttgart-Heilbronn still prevails, albeit on a lower level. Still noticeable and annoying though. Gonna test this a bit more once the shaders have been cached properly. Live weather worked very well for me too so far. Once again, I didn't use the mod back on TSW6 but really enjoy it here. Sadly, it's been very overcast over large parts of Germany lately, so I didn't have much luck with the sun yet What I'm rather neutral about is Nürnberg-Würzburg and the 440. The route feels a lot like Tharandter Rampe, just without the Rampe part, and less interesting scenery. The timetable is okay I guess, but not much for my taste to do there... Is there a speed change announcement sign missing ahead of Würzburg? Haven't checked the feedback thread yet, gotta look into it later. And the 440 is... okay, I'd say. Another generic stick-pusher EMU, albeit a rather fun one. Some of the clicking and clacking sounds in the cab, like the Sifa pedal or the traction lever, sound a little bit too... recorded for my taste. But why, oh WHY is there no hardpoint to be able to lean out of the side windows? I love doing that at stops, checking if everything is okay at the doors... Oh and since having "improved passengers" was another selling point during the livestreams: I couldn't notice any improvements at all. On the contrary, during my testing runs, I had two people on the tracks and the usual weird behaviour while boarding/alighting as usual Other than that, I didn't encounter any (new) bugs so far, and TSW7 seems to run more stable than its predecessor, at least for me. Let's wait and see Big sorry for writing a novel once again! Just wanted to get it out of my system all at once
Someone wanted the menus to look like a print newspaper. As an artist I can appreciate the intent, if not necessarily the execution.
I did notice that in the store page, the add-ons for older content were showing full price, but of course when I clicked through to Steam it was the sale price. It works properly on TSW6 - as I still have it installed and checked.
PS5 have played tsw7 for 16hrs now on lots of different routes and had no blurry textures at all, that's with all layers and live weather on. The only issue I have is having to reset announcement audio settings every time I start the game.
Oh I forgot something in my earlier essay: Auto-enabled safety systems are a godsend! This is how it should have been all along. Although I have to say that it has become so engrained into me to activate them manually, that I keep doing it out of pure reflex, muscle memory Let's see how long it will take to get rid of that... Edit: There's one bug I've spotted about the auto-enabled safety systems: It does not work on the BR 628, neither the mint nor the red version.
Why "safety systems enabled by default" doesn't work? It’s not an issue with the scoring. The systems really aren't working, even though the switches are setled correctly. Reproducible on the Rotem Cabcar and F40PH.
Them two are bugged because you can't switch the alerter on in the rotem car there is no switch anywhere. And the f40 there is no switch for the tms . So safety systems are not actually on.
When you press ctrl/shift + num enter the game says they're being disabled. So, they are actually enabled by default, but they aren't working.
On the rotem car I press shift and enter and the alerter does not come unless they key bind changed. And for tms I have no idea what the key bind is.
I tried both the mint 628 in the original timetable and the red 628 in Seblay's 2007 timetable, both times I had to switch on PZB and Sifa on my own. Cross-checked this on Stuttgart-Heilbronn, since the 2000 timetable there uses both versions of the 628, same thing happened. I would love if it were selective, i.e. services where you bring a train from the depot have safety systems off so you have to activate them, while takeover services have them switched on. But that's very hard to do I guess... so I'd rather stick with the on/off option we currently have. If it works properly, that is If I take over an ICE coming from Berlin at Fulda, safety systems should definitely be on when I enter the cab By the way, i noticed that the tilting system of the 411 (NeiTech) and 612 (GST) aren't activated by default either, just tested that on Frankfurt-Fulda and Ludwigsbahn. It's not a safety system, I know, but would be very nice to have an auto-activation for that too
PC Player - Steam AI Conductor set to "realistic" on the WCMLs 807 Timetable results in the guard going straight to closing doors (doesn't execute the open first instruction) and when arriving at London Euston I had to take over and manually open the doors.
ehm, is it just me or one of the latest patches was trying to improve accessibility across the board? cos when I press T, the stuff on the left is bigger, and also the font above next stop marker seems bigger, like so: this is one of the screens from before: went over all kinds of options, nothing seems to have been changed by me, so it must have been one of the latest patches... I would rather they finally show points in that T screen lol edit: also the track monitor seems to have gotten a little bit bigger, as I look at it... whats going on... I havent messed with any of my game or system settings
PC Steam on Windows 11. I am located in Belgium. My temperature units are on "automatic". When selecting a service on Nürnberg-Ingolstadt, the temperature is measured in Fahrenheit. I would expect that Celcius is used in a European route. I haven't checked if the same issue happens on other European routes. Second feedback: please improve the transfer of game settings from earlier iterations of the game in the future. I've just had to take 20 minutes to reset settings that I had in TSW 6. (e.g. screen resolution, HUD settings, Expert mode...). I have no issue with certain (new or improved) settings requiring adjustment, but having to reset close to all settings because they don't transfer is tedious. Also: for TSW 8 I hope you finally get to improving the logic in the settings categories: they sometimes seem randomly assigned to a category, resulting in similar settings being spread over multiple categories. I often have to search for quite a while to find a certain setting. Maybe adding a search box in the settings menu can help here?
The AI conductor is some kind of mess, not a function. The Miami route. Everything works fine for the first few stops, but then it starts blaring its horn endlessly from the rear (I'm riding in the locomotive) and stops opening the doors. Then I tried Dresden Leipzig, RE 50 and S2 with BR145 Expert. The doors never worked, but there were messages on the screen that the conductor opened and closed the doors. It doesn't annoy me much, but it doesn't work. Plus, there's a stupid issue with the second-long signing process when you're awarded points for completing actions. It feels like even though I disabled autosave via the ini, it still works. PC - Steam.
The dots make it near impossible to read the text - I've learnt to hold my phone camera in front & read it off my phone screen, which oddly works!?
I'm on xbox series x and I'm getting a little bit fed up now off the constant lag and freezing on the menu and route screens.
Potential Issues I Found: 1. If I load in from a save midway through a service, the service doesn't reload properly and AI conductor stops working properly (at least on Tri-Rail). I will edit this if I find more potential issues.
I like the new main menu design in TSW7, but it lags terribly on the PS5 Pro. Please do something about it to provide a better experience.
I have noticed this as well. DTG please fix this. Its bad enough we are stuck with blurry textures with no fix in sight. But now once we cut down enough layers so the route works it just resets itself and we have to remember for every different route what to cut in order to play our content. This is just rubbing salt in the wound.
Speaking as a casual and talking to lots of noobs (well that was me 2 years ago too).... I think having more features OFF by default is better. Veteran players by all means should have full access to all the cool features, but newbies don't know what they don't know. If they don't even know much about trains, let along how to drive them... what you're doing is handing them a SUPER STEEP learning curve of failure after failure, often not their fault. That's just a failure waiting to happen for an introduction for a game. Safety features... I get you want realism but like I said if you don't know the train's quirks on safety you're going to have a bad day. Train faults? Frustrating. Red lights? Frustrating. Detours? Frustrating. AI conductor not as expected? Frustrating. A lot of new people will quit before they ever got to enjoy the "realism" part. The people that need challenges and realism are the VETERAN players who already know how to play and how things work "normally" without the bells and whistles. Which is when you turn them on once you have some hours of experience in. Having them on by default doesn't help the veterans (who know what settings to hit to enable them in game) and it drives off newbies. So it's a lose-lose.
Anyone else having all their setting revert back to default, on starting up TSW7? So damn annoying after going through every tab and changing stuff to how I want it, only to find next time it's all back to default again. This should not be happening at this stage in the game. I deleted 'Gamesettings.ini' and restarted the game, only to find it did it all again once I'd changed stuff and logged out. Annoying AF.
I'd kind of just accepted it because I'd hit the close doors key just before the top. But thinking back, the clock face was a more accurate option. Depending on the Loco, you could hit the close doors key 6-10 seconds early, disengage the brakes and be ready to power away! Yeah, I'll not make a real driver, but getting your score deducted due to late arrivals was annoying. ...or maybe I could work for Japanese rail So yeah, a clock option for me too - I know you're currently catering for many accessibility features.
I had a weird 'bug' where the next signal was just an empty circle, no green, amber, etc. I play minimal HUD with track monitor and next signal. I navigated to here: C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\Documents\My Games\TrainSimWorld7\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor and deleted all 18 files. The game will just re-create default ones on next run. Yes, you'll have to go through all the menus and settings 'again', but see if that works for you. My settings have been saved since, and I now know if my next signal is Green
I've got this and all train faults turned OFF, yet on random scenarios across various routes, I find I can't set off after using the 'Y' or 'U' key to close the doors. If the loco has a VDU for coach doors, it's just a hassel, without one, it's becomes an 8key cam fly by! Grrrr
I've a memory like a sieve, can you standardise the graphics settings? Based on previous settings using Ultra then Epic Shadow Quality: No Ultra Post Process Quality: No Ultra View Distance Quality: No Ultra
stevegad Why not try the following? Once you’ve configured all your settings, go to the Gamesettings.ini file. Right-click on the Gamesettings.ini file, and you should be able to find an option somewhere to set this file to read-only. This should then prevent TSW from overwriting this file again.
PS5 Maybe I'm being paranoid, but I haven't ever seen rain with live weather turned on... And now I've just checked a weather app saying it was raining for at least another 60 minutes in Dresden, I spawned in at Dresden Hbf on Dresden - Leipzig and sure enough, no rain, just overcast. So, it's starting to look a little suspicious. It looks to me like live weather might not be able to turn to rain right now, I think. I could be wrong though, it would need to be checked by someone that lives next to a route so they know the actual weather, not just a forecast.
