I won't be able to play it until Saturday at the earliest.

But has anyone on PS5 checked to see if any of Just Trains stock can spawn into any routes on free roam?

It would and if course some trains won't be set up for realistic settings.

I've set it to all for now.

I’m quite specifically having spawning issues in free roam on PS5, which I wasn’t having in TSW6.

Can’t seem to get anything to spawn on the new Leeds line, went to ECML where I usually spawn things for railtours or just mileage runs etc, again couldn’t get anything to spawn there.

Didn't matter if it was JT, DTG, Rivet etc.

So far the only success I’ve had is spawning things into the training centre, that did include JT’s 87 & 142.

More strange font choices found on the TAB key. Both little and large.

With regard to the AI Guard, the 142 from Blackpool Branches works and so far seems to work very well (unlike the 331/333/80X from TSW7 which occasionaly lock up and require you to go down and sort it yourself). Just like those units you need to put the reverser into neutral for it to work :)

Also just a quick shoutout to the DTG team but thank you for having the pause/escape menu go to the "overview" screen again like in TSW4 :)

That certainly doesn't seem to apply to older routes, I had the same thing with a run on MML set to realistic and I had to open and close the doors myself. Presumably every older route with slam door stock will need to be updated (or the rolling stock) to work when Realistic is selected.

I forgot about the AI conductor - I turned it off after doing a short (well, there are no long ones!) run in the 153 in Cardiff and kept seeing the doors opening randomly on both sides at different stops !

And yes, the menu UI is almost a throwback to TSC :D

If I recall they did say that older content would need to be updated to work in realistic mode.

That's why I've selected always as I rather I didn't have to open the doors at all than have it turned off, even if it isn't always realistic.

And such a horrible typeface as well, reminds me of something Razer would use.

Lol well sometimes a compromise has to be made. It's not as bad as seeing a class 40 in Preston in 1986 ;):D

There are some differences on how the AI conductor works when it is set to "always" and "realistic". When it is set to "always" the game acts as if the "Y" or "U" shortcut keys were used to open and close the doors, and that works on any train.

When it is set to "realistic" it will try to operate the controls in the doors (like opening the control cover, insert the key, press the "open doors" button, etc). That doesn't work on all the trains, only the ones that are set up to work with it. This means only the TSW7 trains are guaranteed to work with it.
Some of the trains that had conductor mode in previous versions of TSW might work too, but it is not guaranteed that they will because they weren't made with the AI conductor in mind at the time they were made.

Of course traditional slam door stock in both the UK and Europe differs in that boarding or alighting passengers will generally open the doors themselves and sometimes close them too, with station staff or the Guard then walking the length of the train to close any left open and check none on the "first catch", as we used to call it. I suppose that would be quite complex to simulate in realistic particularly as, 1. Passengers actually teleport on and off the train and, 2. There is no visible Guard or station staff.
