What’s the problem?

 

UI is also affected. Just turn on/off new lighting and UI will change color, becoming more brown.

EL seems to turn all/most of the clouds into random triangles and rectangle-ish blobs without much depth and it's generally a bit washed out/overexposed/too bright/etc for my taste. The game also seems a bit foggy, as if the TSW person needs to clean their glasses (if that makes sense). The screenshots should explain it a bit better though, all taken at the same time of day and with the same settings (except for EL and engine.ini tweaks of course)

again, ini and then enhanced lighting, this time with an overcast sunrise - EL has a very flat looking sky with little colour

 

An overcast sky is flat looking with little colour, the image on the left is totally unrealistic. I certainly wouldn’t wish to change anything that makes it look less realistic.

As I’ve said though, further work is being done on this that does help matters under cloudy skies.

 

I agree that the image on the left looks flat and a littlr bit cartoonish. However, the image on the right is heavily affected by a gray haze that desaturates the picture. Look at the sky - it has lost its color and turned gray.
I'm talking about the daytime shots. I have no complaints about the night ones - the second one is much more realistic.

 

At the risk of stating the obvious, it’s because that image has been taken into sun when the bloom is there as the sun is low. It is not grey.

 

Is it just me that has awful night time lighting with TSW7?

At first I thought it was because London Brighton was old but then Crewe Preston is the same. Black sky but everything else looks like it's dusk not between 10-11pm

Both cabview shots are taken without the cab lights on too.

How can it look stunning in the daytime but this bad at night?

 

Which doesn't stop the sky from being blue in the first screenshot. I checked in-game, and the colors really do wash out significantly with certain weather presets. And I’m not talking about full overcast conditions.

Is TimeOfDaySystem.LowerHemisphereSunLightIlluminanceMult=0 still work? I don't see any difference at sunny day.

Yeah, that’s the reason. It’s been like that since launch.

 

The first two images are from a TOD3 route so nothing to do with enhanced lighting.

The latter two don’t look like anything I’ve ever seen in the game. Can you give me some repro steps so I can take a look, because that doesn’t look like night should.

 

Sorry JetWash It was a total schoolboy error on my part............

I forgot I'd enabled RTX Dynamic Vibrance the other day when running in the daytime to give it a little extra pop. Obviously when running a route in the daytime it looks great but at night it does things like this. Once I had gone into the Nvidia sidebar and dropped the intensity slider down to 0% it returned the night back to how it should be.... Nice and dark. (Even on London Brighton but obviously not as nice looking as Crewe Preston though)

I'll have to get used to switching it to 0% for night runs and the 25% I had it set to for the daytime.
