Did you try manually copying and pasting your API key located in Documents/MyGames/TrainSimWorld7/Saved/Config? I had to do that last night but I set it back to automatic and it's working fine for me
I would double check the -HTTPAPI, also in app check the app is eaither on automatic key detection, or that the key you entered is correct. The key will be different in TSW 7 than is in TSW 6.
thanks for that its all working now. Both versions (TSW 6 and TSW 7) now seem to be working. Does this mean that I am running 2 separate versions of the mod and will both automatically update?
Nope. It is a standalone app, which communicates with TSW via the API DTG is providing. So it doesn't have to be installed as a mod. As there is no difference in the API betweeen TSW 6 and 7, a single app can easily support both TSW version.
I only have an API Key file in the Train Sim World 6 folder. Can I just copy it over or do I need to get a new one somewhere? Or enter my personal number that I also use for Train Sim Classic?
TSW7 has it's own api key. It should be in the same location as the tsw6 folder but tsw7 instead. Make sure u add the launch option -httpapi
Anyone else having problems with it not working? Only the location is displayed, not the weather info annotations. Its also not applying historic weather. Edit: Double checked if the -HTTPAPI is there, it is. Restarted my PC, still not working. Servers down perhaps?
Hey Winzarten. I have, that´s not the issue. I don´t have an API code in TSW 7. I can only find one in the TSW 6 folder.
toms87 if you put in the -httpapi there should be a in that folder after you ran tsw7 maybe a typo or if you use more parameters forgot a space in between? and no need for caps i use -httpapi
It started working again about an hour ago. The time was a few minutes of, other than that it working fine again.
Open-meteo had some hiccup with its historic api. Even the web version didn't work. It has to be something with the parameter. If the file is not there, then TSW is not running its API.
FAO Winzarten At the moment I only use the app for the annotations, not got into the weather bit yet. Like to drive on a sunny day Would you be open to receiving a list of potential additions and enhancements to add to the built in locations? I'm keeping a spreadsheet of ones that could be added and am happy to do research through various sources. Got rail atlases for UK, Germany, Switzerland & Austria, some UK Sectional Appendices for example. Maybe I could trawl older routes to add more categories that you've added later? Don't want to overload you and of course you'd have the final say if a location was worth including. What you think?
Thanks, I will fix. I imagine there a many more to find :-D If you have ideas about functionality, and additional categories, then sure, throw them in For the actuall location, there I think, the most efficient way is to give the build-in editor a try, do the additional annotations, and export them for people to use.
Hi Winzarten, Thanks to your frequent and timely updates, very often when we launch Route Annotations we get an update prompt. Do you think you could add a "Launch Route Annotations" tick box to the setup (ticked by default) so that it automatically launches the app after updating? It's a bit of a luxury request, but would be nice to have! JB
Hi Winzarten, quick question, I want to use the annotation overlay only when using a scenario mode, so If I want just the annotation overlay I need to change the wheater mode to ''manual weather'' before selecting a scenario? Thank you!
I'm having the same issue as well. API key is fine...was working fine yesterday. Not sure what the issue is
it resolved itself if not on the same day try the next day again maybe Open-Meteo are having maintenance or something else
That's on the todo list, I have to figure out how to do it in the installer framework. ;-) Yes, you can even switch to manual after the scenario is loaded, and it will revert back to scenario defined weather. I wanted to do it automatically, so the app detect when you're in scenario and switches to manual, but I haven't found a way in the TSW API how to determine if the player is in scenario.
New version - Weather Stations rework... The application has had the functionality of weather stations, where you can designate any station/yard as a weather station, and the app will then display the weather for that location. Either in the app, or in the overlay panel, if you have it set to permanent mode. But the functionality had two major shortcomings – the information was quickly out of date, as it only refreshed every 20 minutes. And you’re not really that interested in current weather, but rather what the weather will be once you reach that station. These issues are addressed with today’s update. The information shown is now continuously updated and always shows the current weather for the location. And a ‘Weather Report’ functionality was added. Where when you click the ‘report’ button next to the station, or on top of the panel. You then get a weather report for that station, or all stations in 300km radius. With forecast for the next 2 in-game hours, in 15 minutes intervals. The weather is appropriately scaled if you’re using weather acceleration. Works also for live weather. Weather stations open-meteo queries are now much more efficient - generally only one query per station is required for 2hours of gameplay. So there is no risk of running out of the free api quota, even with lots of stations defined.
That's the goal (well, also was with initial implementation, but it fell quite short of that goal) Give the player an overview on what is the weather around him (as the app cannot do maps... currently..:-P), and what to expect on the service
Just a heads up on a sunny sunday afternoon, to thank you for keeping up with an already great addition to the TSW experience.
Hi Winzarten. I discovered the weather overide button for the first time yesterday! I really appreciated this feature, (particularly for those of us seeking the somewhat elusive heavy rain). I was wondering if it might be possible in a future update to incoprporate a x1, x2, or x3 'precipitation multiplier switch' to the weather overide panel at some point in the future? This would enable increased precipitation but allow the weather to change naturally in a similar way to reality. Just a thought. Again thanks for all your efforts.
Since recently the time doesn't sync up properly is this happening to anybody else? At the start of the service it syncs up but the longer you play the time in game and the weather doesn't sync up properly and eventually off by at least 5 minutes but never exceeds 5 minutes. I have the app pulling data every 10 minutes or 3750 meters smoothed every 5 seconds. Is this intentional Winzarten ?
I have a issue. I turn on smooth motion in Nvidia app, which doubles FPS, just like the frame generation. However it makes the overlay unfunctional.
On the Miami route, weather transitions during a storm are extremely abrupt. Fog appears in a second, vanishes after 10 seconds, and 10 seconds later the rain stops abruptly; then, after another 10 seconds, a shower suddenly begins, followed 10 seconds later by sudden appearance of fog - and the cycle repeats. All this is accompanied by a sudden change in lighting.
Are you using live weather? Is it 5 minutes in the future, on the main app? If so, then it is ok.. As the weather is transitioning, it fetches data for time the transition should be completed... So, if the app thinks, based on your speed, that i.e. you will move out of the defined area in 5minutes, it will fetch weather which will be 5 minutes in the future... So after 5 minutes, when the transition is done, it should be in sync with time. This was always that way for historic weather, but for live weather the app couldn't fetch future data. This has changed recently. On what date and time was the service run, and what weather was used (lived/historic). I cannot try it and reproduce it without that Also check if precipitation smoothing is enabled. If not, that can cause the abrupt changes, as precipitation also changes fog ingame. Weird, it works ok for me, even with smoothing. Are you using windowed mode?
Yeah, sorry. Train 608, live weather, current date(September 23). It started with heavy rain and some fog. Everything is exactly as shown on the screenshot, except "Max in-game precipitation at: 4,50"
So the max precipitation change per minute is also 33%?... weird, as that's the thing it should smooth it out. For now, you can try to disable "Enable Enhanced Showers", as I have a feeling that might cause the behavior. The stop-start behavior should be smoothed, I will investigate why it isn't. And I forgot about this yesteday. You can change the mapping, halving the "Max in-game precipitation" with double the rain, as it then takes half the reported precipitation to full max the in-game bar. But I will add a quick to set multiplier on the main window, so people can easily change the precipitation intensity on the fly.
