Agreed with the lower probability settings above. However, I think they apply to AI trains as well, which naturally causes adverse signalling - I just pretend they don't apply to my train, drive at line speed and enjoy the delay effects. Not 100% sure they apply to AI trains, but I'm fairly sure as I was signal checked on Airedale due to an AI slowing for the amazing 5mph TSR. Would be nice if someone could confirm that they do apply to AI - if they do, maybe they could setup invisible TSRs for AI which negates the signal delay effect which I don't seem to encounter / or is broken.
I would certainly like more of a random element - I’ve also experienced the 1 TSR per journey seeming to be a fixed figure on ‘low’. I’m not sure whether I agree that an average of 1 TSR is an unrealistically high figure though. TSW routes vary a lot in length, of course, but thinking about the number of TSRs in the UK, one TSR on a route doesn’t sound crazy. It does vary a lot depending on recent weather though - at the moment, in areas suffering from ground movement due to lack of moisture in the soil, you’re lucky if you only have one TSR on a given route. I like the fact the likelihood of TSRs can be varied. I haven’t tried setting it to ‘high’, but I’d imagine it feels something akin to driving in the ‘gauge corner cracking’ crisis a few years ago!
That’s an interesting thought. I’m pretty sure that they do apply to AI trains (all the other speed restriction do, and TSRs seem to be implemented in roughly the same way, having the same warnings on the HUD etc) but I’ve never actually stood next to a TSR to watch the AI trains go through!
