Does Anyone Else Remember This Dlc Dovetail Forgot?

Does anyone remember the CSX GP40-2 DLC?

It was a DLC that is only available in TSW 2020 and it never made it to the next instalment/s of the franchise. I think it would be cool if Dovetail could revisit the DLC and give it a once over and get it available for TSW7 and onward. It would be nice having another CSX locomotive to go with the AC4400, SD40-2, and GP38-2 for freight operations, especially now with Freight Hauler.

What technical limitations? Is TSW 2020 different from the second game? Really?

 

It was more of a mini remaster for Sand Patch, basically reworking the route to make sure that it works on consoles for TSW2.
And now if wanted to see both GP40 & SW1000R again, it's pretty much gonna have to be made from scratch. But who knows if there's gonna be a new US loco for freight in the future anyways, since all DTG is gonna reuse to death at this point are the GP38s and SD40s.

 

There were a few TSW 2020 DLCs that were not "preserved" when TSW2 launched because it would be close to the same amount of work as remaking the whole DLC again. This happened because at some point in the early TSW days DTG tried a new way to develop the DLCs and it didnt go well. The not preserved DLCs look the same as any other early TSW DLC to us, the players, but they were actually made in a different way.

 

Yet they managed to get Rapid Transit done.

 

Yes, same as Sand Patch and Great Western Express. The DLC that was made different was NEC NY, and the loco DLCs for that route. Everything else was not affected.
