My nine-year-old son is a huge fan of Train Sim World. He currently plays Train Sim World 5 on Xbox One. My son is AuDHD, and playing Train Sim World is one of his favourite things to do. He particularly enjoys experimenting within the game, including derailing and crashing the trains. However, he becomes really frustrated when a derailment or crash immediately brings up the screen asking the player to return to the timetable, restart or quit to the main menu. He would love to remain in the game, use the different camera views and explore the scene to see what has happened to the train. His suggestion is to add an option such as “Continue viewing” or “Explore” alongside the existing choices. This could allow the player to stay in the scene and use the camera freely before deciding whether to restart or leave. I appreciate there may be technical considerations involved, particularly across different platforms, but I promised him I would share his idea. It would make a real difference to how he enjoys the game, and I imagine other players might appreciate having the option too.
