Sometimes the truth is terrible, yes. Annoying, but that’s just how it is…

I want such a feature. Badly. It's ridiculous that such an obvious and useful feature still hasn't been implemented after all this time. I'm surprised you can't see the value.

If it would work properly, I'd use a savegame feature too. I don't have that much spare time recently, so doing a 1,5 or 2 hours service in one sitting is pretty much impossible without any good save function.

Well unless a poll is carried out we would never know.

It doesn't seem to be that much of an onerous request as many games have them, including TSC. However maybe there is some reason it is not easy, if so why not just say.

Sometimes I might want to drive a few different routes on one go and don't want to spend an hour on one service. Sometimes I only have half an hour as I'm often busy. I might have a saved game but want to drive something else on the next session which I also want to save. There could be many reasons.

Yes, I’ve completely disabled the save‑game system by default, because it creates a lag spike every time the game processes a stop or a task and you hear that typical confirmation sound. I disabled it through the Engine.ini, and since then I no longer have issues with the game saving in the background.

It’s a personal opinion I’m not trying to convince anyone but I just think the chances are very small that DTG will do anything with it, especially because they already have a solution with split service timetables. And I should also mention that the save‑game feature often exposes many other problems. After loading a save, all kinds of issues appear that you as a player won’t enjoy either.

It’s probably related to the complexity of the game and everything it needs to initialize when loading a save, which clearly goes wrong quite often.

I think, Freight Hauler might have added a good reason for better savegame system, too. :)

We can't have a better save game system because of the pigs ear that has been made elsewhere is more of a believable reason than nobody wanting it. You should have lead with that.

Sorry, but where do you get the idea that nobody wants it? In fact, or i should presuming that I’m specifically asking who does want it, right?!

Looks as though you’re moving the goalposts now that multiple people have stated they do want it.

Just to chip in and say, the multiple save slots have been something that's been requested for years and it is not just something that only a small handful of people want...

It actually makes a lot of sense to have multiple save slots and would be a feature many people would use and is not a unreasonable request.

I’ve been hoping for ages that DTG would finally give TSW more than one slot.
Above all, having just one slot is simply no longer acceptable; even older games had more than one slot back in the day.

Jesper, this Tadami Line business is a joke, isn’t it?
After all, this route is only being released today, and on how many other routes do you find this sort of split timetable?

I use the save game system to load and/or save pretty much every time I play TSW as I seldom have long periods of unbroken time to play unfortunately.

It's not perfect - I've learned to always save when the train is in motion rather than stationary to ensure that the save works correctly. Also, there have been times when cab lights or headlights or safety systems which were switched on when I saved were on the off position when loading. That said, providing I save when the train isn't stopped at a station or a signal I've had no game-breaking experiences for years when I've saved/loaded on XBOX. On that basis I'd be quite happy for 4 or 5 more save slots to be on offer!

Not meant in an unfriendly way, but if you play this kind of game, you do need to be able to make time for it, right? It’s a game where you can generally expect not to be done again after just 15 minutes. Not to shut down the discussion about a save‑game feature or anything like that. I’m not against your request, and I never claimed that nobody wants it but yeah, I’m afraid it is a pretty small minority. It’s at the bottom of the list, I’m afraid…

I don't use the save function because there's only one save slot. If I don't want to play anymore, I close the game. There's no guarantee I'll feel like continuing that saved task the next day. But what can happen is that I do a different task the next day, but then don't want to play it again, for health reasons.

I want the extra manual save slot(s) or autosave option let's say every 5 minutes.

He just likes to troll/gaslight any comment he doesn’t agree with. And sadly the mods just allow it to carry on.

And leaving slots aside, it can’t be denied that the crazy bug with chained run saving absolutely needs sorting. Not everyone is a total nerd able or willing to spend hours at a time burning their eyes out playing a computer game.

Jesper, not everyone has the whole day to play TSW, but it seems you’re an exception in that respect.

And not every TSW player always has 30 minutes or more to play, because the children might need something from you, or your wife might want something.
Most ordinary players are people who have to go to work and have other commitments afterwards, and things don’t always go the way they’d like them to.
You come across to me as if you’ve got the whole day to play, and perhaps don’t even have to – or want to – work.

No offence intended. Should probably have given it a smilie. Nerd was probably the wrong word, though what my missus occasionally calls me when I’m playing. How about we go for lucky people, able to find enough time to do a complete run or several runs in one session. :) :)

I do not get the new AI conductor system after the last update on realistic you had to close the doors yourself, this better be fixed imo the change log for the new AI conductor mode are vague and not well explained off, simple, hybrid, and realistic dovetail explain more please that would be good. I am willing to bet AI conductor after this update will be even more buggy then it already is.

Again as I have already stated its unrealistic for you to close the doors for the guard because at that point whats the point of a guard.

Oh! Almost forgot about "Beginner controls"! 7th version, 7 years of releasing TSW and so important feature for simulator game! Sorry for my mistake ((

    P. S. Maybe "sim" in "Train Sim World" means something else, off course...

It's one of the most requested features from what I've seen. I can name I think 6 people on the forum that request it often.

Assuming that everyone is born an expert and there are no casual players, despite them making up the majority of the player base?
I honestly don't know what you're on about since they're off by default. You'd have to go in and turn it on intentionally to even use the feature.

It would have benefitted me. I came across TSW in 2023 during a sale. I tried it and could not get the bakerloo train to move and gave it up as a buggy game.

I came back to TSW in 2025 and got trains to move and became hooked. If beginner controls had existed in 2023, I would have become hooked back then.

Also I would love to see more than one save slot. Am liking the quality of life improvements in tsw7 as a xbox x player.

I, for one would like to see more than one save spot. In TSC you can have a save per scenario which makes it convenient for that scenarios / timetables that exceed one’s available “playtime”. I am sure there are plenty more “silent” types that would like to see more than one save slot, it seems

Only reason I responded jesper2805 it seems you have a vendetta against OldVern and are constantly rebutting whatever position he takes and to be honest, it is getting rather tiresome. People have differing opinions on what they want out of this simulation and should be able to state their positions without such back and forth as I have observed. Not that I agree with all that OldVern states but I do feel one should be able to post without constant debate. Let’s keep a sense of community alive in these forums since we all are here because we have an interest in trains..

And to keep this a bit on topic, was a bit disappointed to see the 331 has not had it’s Raildriver profile corrected to the latest update… was hoping that since they finally fixed Raildriver implementation in TSW6, they would carry over to TSW7… maybe in the next update.

I don't say it enough but I would like more save slots as well.

But as someone on console I'm more eager to see the blurry texture issue get fixed 1st so I'm way more vocal and focused on that issue than save game slots personally.

Thats why you don't hear it from my end.

    a) You as one person saying "Well I as one person didn't see it so it doesn't exist" is even worse than 6 people.
    b) It's more than that. I said I can recall their names offhand personally and they have been asking repeatedly. I'm not saying they're the ONLY ones, just the ones I can name. Polls have shown that it's a very popular request. Again, if you need data...well.. your "data" is your personal one person opinion so it's 1/6th as reliable as mine to begin with.

    Not to be rude. =-)

I’ve got pretty broad shoulders but I hate it, to use a soccer term, when someone plays the man rather than the ball. We all have individual thoughts and ideas about the state of TSW, indeed life in general and if someone wants to disagree they are of course free to to so. But that doesn’t necessarily invalidate the original point of view.

He doesn’t just do that with OldVern; he used to enjoy doing it to me as well, and I stood up to him then. He’s also had my posts deleted before, but not his own.
I think he’s now ignoring me.

As far as I know, he plays on a PC.
But he thinks he knows everything, which is why he even feels he has to answer questions about the PS5 or Xbox – even though he can’t possibly know the answers, as he doesn’t play on those consoles.
Sometimes he replies with utter nonsense, but his posts are never deleted even if you report them.
He has to butt in on every post where someone writes something, which in my view is simply unacceptable, and he might then persuade inexperienced players to do something they’d rather have avoided.

And just because only 6 to 8 people have spoken up in this thread to say they want more storage space, that’s enough for him.
I’m sure there are still hundreds of users on this forum who’d like more than one storage space, but they just don’t post about it here.

I never use the save slot anymore as the last time I did it just increased the amount of bugs sevenfold :') Apparently it's too difficult for DTG to implement, so I stopped worrying about it.

A working save system would be awesome, no idea why anyone would argue against it.

For PC: Might have been mentioned before, but if the schedule and objectives disappear after loading a save, I relinquish the service using GodMode and restart it by clicking the seat. That seems to fix it.
