    Platform: Steam PC
    Journey Mode
    Chapter: We're Number One
    Scenario: Put it on Ice

Whenever I try to load this route I get a crash to desktop. No Unreal bug report option, just a complete programme shutdown. Happened 3 of 3 times.

following tuesday's update, the ice 4 headlights don’t really seem to be much brighter, for a modern emu the high beam lights should have a much longer range

    PC/Steam:
The keybind for the parking brake of the BR 440 just woiks in cab 1. In cab 2 you are forced to use it with the mouse.

    PC (Steam) Version
・Nuremberg Station: The signal for the line towards Würzburg (Platform 30) does not match the HUD; it shows no "proceed" indication even when the signal is green.
・BR 442 Talent: Interior announcement volume is too low (sounds like a quiet, hard-to-hear voice).
・Stuttering occurs at terminal stations during long-distance runs (including Nuremberg Freight Yard and Würzburg).
・Stuttering occurs near Fürth Station due to heavy train traffic.
    Please fix these issues.

I can confirm that I also have this same issue. For about 2 minutes the frame rate drops and fluctuates so badly it’s almost unplayable!

Playing on PC (Steam), Intel Core i9 14900k, 32gb DDR5 RAM, RTX 4080

I’m still getting ‘out of memory’ errors on the Xbox Series X, even after the latest patches. I’ve now given up on the idea that DTG will be able to fix the problem on this generation of consoles. It’s well and truly too late for that!

According to what I’ve been told by an employee of DB, jesper2805 is correct. I was surprised to learn this myself.

Obviously the dispatchers try to give priority to ICEs and not stop them or send them behind slower trains, but there are too many trains in this section of the route and ICEs need to be stopped or sent behind slower trains. You can watch this ICE4 cabride and hear the comments from the driver (you can turn on subtitles and auto-translation if you cant understand german):

Link to 10mins into the video, when the train needs to start slowing down to stop and the driver comments on it. Shortly after the train gets moving again, it will pass the freight train that was routed before the ICE4 at Wurzburg.

    Video transcript (auto-translated):

I can recommend these two videos by Felix to TSW players who play on PC.
In these two videos, he shows how you can achieve a normal FPS even in Frankfurt, without a single instance of stuttering.

Has anyone experienced an LZB "failure" on ICE 4 after loading a save? The Vsoll indicator is not displayed in the HUD and does not work, the speed does not change. A hard reset of the LZB when activating AFB Aus causes the train to stop (without errors), the subsequent start and activation of AFB Vsoll frei has no effect.

Not sure if we are experiencing the same thing but I played this today on PS5 Pro using the ICE 4 and after I save my game and come back to play my last save, LZB, AFB, PZB and Sifa are all deactivated and my ICE 401 is slowly brought to a stop from a high speed sprint. So apparently it doesn't save all your safety settings when you come back to your last save. At least with ICE 4 it seems it doesn't. As you soon as you resume the ICE 4 speed decelerates.

Also when using the ICE 4, when driving from Wurzberg and arriving at Fulda do I need to deactivate LZB, AFB and PZB at the platform? Somehow after arriving at Fulda platform I was told to open doors, after opening them literally a second later the LZB buzzer went off and the train started departing with doors left open and zero passengers were able to get off. I had to close them while the train was ramping up speed because LZB had taken over. So then for the entire route to Kassel the overhead HUD display read "Unlock Doors". Also I could no longer tell how many miles left to Kassel due to this HUD malfunction. Once I got to Kassel I had to manually unlock one door, then the HUD read "Closed Doors" so I selected close doors, then it said "Unlock Doors" and then finally passengers were able to deboard. So do I need to quickly turn off LZB at Fulda so that LZB doesn't takeover allowing the train to depart without my control?

I’ve taken a look at the two videos.
It is a shame that the audio is in German and the speech-to-text conversion only supports English, so I couldn't understand the spoken dialogue.
However, I have been adjusting the settings—lowering them—based on everyone's recommendations. While the patch did bring some improvements, the frame rate still drops and stuttering persists when arriving at Würzburg or the Nuremberg freight yard, as well as near Fürth station (where there is heavy train traffic). On other routes, the performance is smooth, just as Emmyman-san described.

It seems that’s the case. In my situation, the Vsoll indicator wasn’t displayed in the HUD on the speedometer. Previously, on German routes, it often happened that after loading a save, an emergency stop would be triggered. Now, with ICE 4, there’s a different problem, but it’s definitely related to the glitchy save system.

Do you save whilst you’re driving?

Because I think OldVern or someone else once wrote that the best way to save the game is to stop at a station, or just pull over and save – then it should work when you load it.
I don’t know if it actually works.

Yes, I am aware of this and I try to save at the stations. However, in the case of high–speed routes, it is difficult to choose the moment to save, because as a rule there are only 2 stops - the initial and the final, xD.

Is the included DB BR193 Vectron updated in any way to the one from Frankfurt Fulda, especially in regards to safety systems. Does this one correctly support the Dutch ATB without breaking scoring in PZB mode?

If yes could the team backport the fix to the older catalog version as well since probably it could/would sub in since its the same loco.

You should be able to. Set speed with R and F, then confirm with Shift + F.

    PC/Steam:
So after today's update I hear "Führerraum besetzt" and "Schließvorgang eingeleitet" from the AI ICE4 on the other platform in Würzburg, as I arrive with mine. After I left my train I again heard these sounds, this time I think it was my ICE4. I think the new sounds have no exclusion for outside and AI.

Even after the patches released on 7 October, the game on Xbox Series X is still crashing due to ‘out of memory’ during an ICE 4 journey from Würzburg to Nuremberg Central Station. The crash occurs before Nuremberg Central Station. I don’t need to explain any further what I think of TSW 7 on Xbox. IMG_4886.jpeg

I am still experiencing blurry textures on this route, even with the latest patch. The attached screenshots were taken during a journey mode service will all timetable layers enabled.

Since the latest update (October 6, 2026), the BR412's AFB cannot be switched on. The entire display fails to respond to any button presses. (X)

To start, I’d like to point out that I’m not a native English speaker; while I can speak a little English occasionally, I do use a translator, so please forgive any awkward phrasing.

I’ve just re-read the entire thread and am surprised that no one has mentioned this. It didn't take me long to realize that the 440 has a problem similar to the one I noticed with the 331. The train slows down abnormally when the throttle is set to zero. This is clearly noticeable to anyone who has driven a train before, and it’s very bothersome to me. At low speeds on flat track, a train weighing several hundred tons should be able to coast for a long time, losing very little speed. Here, you lose one or even several km/h every 100 meters. And at high speeds, while you’d expect to lose some speed due to air resistance, it certainly shouldn't be to this extent. Between 100 and 140 km/h on a 0.9% or 1% downhill grade, you don't even need to brake with this 440, which is clearly abnormal. With the 425, when going through the winding section between Kaiserslautern and Neustadt, you regularly have to apply a touch of braking on the stretches with a 0.5% to 0.8% descent, that is normal.

I’m not a developer, so I have no idea how difficult it is to modify a locomotive after dlc launch. Is it possible to modify a train's physics? If so, is there any hope that my feedback might lead to a small fix in a future patch for the 440 and 331? I play on PC via Steam, without a RailDriver or any other controller that might interfere with the controls or cause unintended braking.

To round off my thoughts on this DLC: I find the modeling of the 440 superb, it’s a really beautiful train. The sound, something I had high hopes for after numerous past disappointments with German red EMUs, is actually quite good. Between 0 and 50 km/h, I find the sounds truly excellent. Above 50 km/h, however, something about it bothers me, it stops sounding natural, and I don't like it as much.

The wheel sounds over track joints are much better than on previous red EMUs. When in the cab, you finally hear a more realistic sound when changing tracks, which is exactly what I was hoping for, so thanks for those improvements.

The cruise control isn't very practical to use because you have to take your eyes off the track to adjust it whenever the speed limit changes. Ideally, it would be great to map keyboard keys for this, though I suspect that isn't possible. Still, even without cruise control, if the train-slowing issue I mentioned earlier gets fixed, it should be a very enjoyable train to drive.

As for the ICE and the 442, I have nothing to say. I don't like high-speed trains with very few stops. And regarding the 442, there is no way I’m using it in its current state, I stopped using that unit a long time ago. I get no enjoyment out of it due to the camera being too low, the sound design, and the braking, which is far too powerful and completely unrealistic. I’m hoping for a proper update in the future that might make me want to use it again on my many German routes.

I like the route. There are no majestic mountains or breathtaking scenery, but I don't find the route ugly. I like the mix of countryside and small towns, with the small stations where the train stops. I don't experience any major slowdowns that ruin the gameplay. The two large train stations obviously require more resources, but it runs pretty well for me with an old Ryzen 7 3700x and a 4070 Ti.

Regarding the timetable, I was wondering if it reflects real-world schedules. I’m sometimes surprised because, even while sticking to the speed limits, I can arrive at a station several minutes early when driving the 440, forcing me to wait there for a while.
( Perhaps that explains the slight, constant braking effect implemented on the 440? ) :)

In summary, I think this road and this new EMU 440 have good potential, although I will only enjoy using it if this small problem of slight braking is resolved.

This is together ok and without blurry ...... more addons is problem

Adding the Frankfurt–Fulda map and with it the ICE-T, is really pushing the limits.:|

rolling resistance physics have been an issue for quite some time for some trains or locos in this game... like, 442s usually dont gain speed even on 0.5 or even 0.7% downhill, only greater (also Dutch trains in this game dont gain speed at 0.6-0.7 % downhill on their route)... but then you have UK or US routes, where the trains are very sensitive to this - on most UK routes, many MUs can gain some speed even on 0.3-0.4% downhill

hell, if the train isnt braking, even 0.3% should be enough for it to slowly gain speed/momentum

I haven't driven the Dutch trains, and I didn't think this issue would still affect recently created trains. That’s why I was so surprised to see the 440 behave this way, as well as the Class 331 from the TSW 7 UK route. I find it astonishing for a game with ten years of experience behind it. After all, the fundamental principle of rail operations is being able to travel long distances while using minimal energy.

I hope a member of the Dovetail team, or a developer, will take 5 minutes of their time to respond to this. I’d like to know if this can be fixed via an update and whether or not they plan to address the issue. I don't want to sound unreasonable, but this problem makes me lose all desire to use these two locomotives. I simply can't ignore the issue when I see the speedometer dropping right before my eyes.

I am aware that there are other problems to solve, but I believe this one should be on the list as well.

I checked the simulation values for drag and rolling restistance (again) on the 440 and they are the same as on the 425s. Looks all good to me so far. There is also no directly visible dragging brake in there. Not sure what causes the decelleration at your end. Would need further and deeper investigation somehow.

Thanks for that clarification. I’m going to run a few tests this weekend, to measure any differences in speed loss among the various trains I own. For now, even though I’m convinced of what I said, it’s still just an impression. So, I’m curious to see the results, and if I was wrong, I’ll admit it.

y know, they knew very well this is a train game, obviously... and trains in general tend to draw, besides the perfectly healthy majority, also ppl with OCD, autism and whatever other diagnoses that encompass obsession and extreme eye for detail... and this kind of issue is the kind they hope most ppl just dont notice amid the wonder of driving... but sometimes they almost like forget their audience can track the tiniest of issues in a heartbeat

ppl will notice inconsistency in rolling resistance... they will notice if sth with safety systems doesnt behave prototypically, usually... etc.... sometimes I'm myself like, I did notice on my first drive lol :D

With all layers on, I get no blurs (regular PS5). I do get some serious framerate drops around Nürnberg Hbf though (depending on the time of day and how busy it is at that given moment).

Tbh, I've got most German DLC and I've only noticed blurring on one 440 scenario. The couple of services I've done haven't blurred. But I've seen pics of it blurring, but most on xbox

I don't know if it's a widespread issue throughout the game, but on this particular route, I want around 27 layers active to avoid blurry textures; yet, every time I restart the game, all 41 layers are active again.

I've seen this on almost all trains (ICEs at least) when loading a saved game in a LZB segment, with nothing showing on the screen (it says LZB but no vsoll and no distance bar showing). Usually LZB is re-established when a new LZB order comes in, like a change in speed. I suppose whatever the LZB tracks isn't saved and the game doesn't know the state of your train when you've just loaded it again.

・Fürth Station to Nuremberg Station (including the freight yard)
There are still many sections where stuttering occurs.

I just fired up the Nuremberg–Würzburg route again after a short break, and I was surprised by the sounds coming from the ICE 4—specifically the "Führerstandbesetzt" (cab occupied) and "Schließvorgang eingeleitet" (door-closing sequence initiated) announcements. I was driving an ICE-T, and as I was about to depart from Nuremberg Hbf, two ICE 4 trainsets were parked next to me; these announcements were so loud they completely drowned out all other sounds... Surely those sounds should only be audible inside the ICE 4 cab, or am I mistaken? I found it quite distracting... I believe this was added in the latest update.
