I was playing 1W75 PAD to GMV on Great Western Express (in the 2017 tt), and completed the run as normal. Though, when I got to Reading, I stayed in game instead of going back to the main menu because there was an ECS 165 about to start a service. I got in and was tasked with leaving platform 7 at Reading and heading over to a shunt signal by the triangle sidings before switching cabs and going into platform 1 at Reading. I left the station but had to wait for an off-map XC 220 service to go around my train and off to Bournemouth. After the 220 passed, my game randomly crashed, I restarted my PC and loaded up the service again, got to the same spot and my game froze without crashing and my PC's cooling fans went berserk. I shut off my PC, waited 5 minutes, then loaded the service again, it crashed at the same spot again. I know this isn't the biggest issue given that there are well over 1000 other playable services to choose from but it's still annoying that this service, and probably a couple others aren't completeable. I feel like it's worth mentioning that I don't have any mods installed.
That's the only voyager service I haven't done on GWE so I'll give it a try and see what happens K, I got a crash on the Part 1 service before I even got moving
I think I've done a couple so I don't know what's causing it to crash I've completed services 5A98, and 5W01 (both ECS moves) with the 2car 165 on GWE
I have been experiencing crashes with at least 2 other scenarios based around Reading station: Drag Line scenario from the base game & the tutorial to class 52 from diesel legends pack. For drag line could only complete by saving the game every 5 mins whilst in the vicinity of Reading station, completely close game, relaunch and load save until finally getting away from Reading station. For intro to class 52 just have to speedrun setting up loco and get out of there before it the game crashes as you can't save. So guess there's something around this station that is a resource leak time bomb.
I also have an issue with 1A75 soon as you depart Reading get a CTD every time, I even reinstalled TSW6 to retry the scenario and it works perfectly. I raised this with DTG and they said they couldn't reproduce the error so beats me. Does seem that there is something wrong with this route when using TSW7. Maybe i need to reinstall TSW7 and give it another try after the update.
Just tried this service now on TSW7 in timetable mode, I managed to complete it without any issues; on PC/Steam (no Mods installed). I had done other services just like this before the patch without problems on the standard journey system. "Verifying integrity of game files" would be quicker than re-installing and would be just as effective if you're files have become corrupted; but guessing you've already tried this by now though.
Hi Yes I did try the verify files before going for the nuclear option. Do you have an NVidia card and if so can you tell me what driver version you are using? kind regards
Yeah I do 3060ti, latest available drivers 617.42. I run on high preset, enhanced lighting turned on, DirectX 12, DLSS quality mode (4k tv or on ultra-wide). On this service task manager shows GPU utilisation varies between 80-95% & around 7.3GB dedicated VRAM used out of 8GB. I'm not too familiar with difference in graphics settings between TSW6&7, but guess as you have both installed you could cross referece and turn off anything that's new in TSW7 and see if that fixes it?
