I'd like to have the closest service to the local time of day preselected in timetable mode. I would also like to be able to see the local time. It would be even better to see the local weather and whether it is day or night for each service. It would be nice if I could change weather settings in the middle of a timetable service and check the local time and weather in game. Especially if I don't like the live weather for some reason.
Not sure if anyone is having this issue or if it’s just a thing missing from the game, but does live weather not account for rain? like whatsoever? It’s currently a downpour in New York and Boston because of the Nor’easter and these routes are dry as a bone. I didn’t pay attention to any pre-release stuff about the feature so for all i know it could just be something not accounted for. Series X.
Same on PS5, no rain on any route. I've gone back to dynamic weather, at least you get different weather patterns. I live in Saltburn where the tees valley route starts and it's been raining in Saltburn but not in game.
Yesterday, I loaded into Fulda on Kassel - Wurzburg, and it was mostly clear. Then I hopped into Fulda on Frankfurt - Fulda, and it was completely overcast. This leads me to believe only one METAR source per route is determining the weather for the whole route, since only the forecast for Frankfurt at that time was completely overcast.
Alex did a q and a on Discord yesterday. Matt was on there too. I asked about live weather and never seeing any rain. Matt said he was going to have a discussion with the weather app team to how it actually works and how accurate it is.
I think this feature is completely broken right now, as i all i get is overcast skies "on every route". Platform - PC
Watching a live stream at Dawlish Warren. The Weather is clearly foggy and damp. Fired up TSW7 loaded up Dawlish Warren with live weather. Clearly not foggy and damp. This is on PS5.
I know this is wrong thread but is anyone having trouble with custom weather. I just it to foggy and its completely clear and sunny.
I am in Leicester, at the moment it is absolutely chucking it down and has been for several hours. I fire up Leicester on Midland Mainline, choose live weather.... according to the game it's just cloudy. Does this live weather feature not like rain? This is on PS5
Checked out the live weather on Suffergette line today and no rain despite it pouring down today. My theory is DTG’s fix for the live weather sudden change issues was to just set it to stay on one weather pattern. So not really a fix at all then!
Don't worry - rain in live weather will be a TSW 8 feature - just like TSR improvements were a TSW 7 feature
Would be nice to hear from DTG about these issues and timelines to fix - they are a bit quiet about this, considering it was a new feature. Also had no rain today in the sim where it clearly was in real life.
I didn't follow this thread so far, and saw that others like dal#7945 and RavenLGBTQ already noticed what I was about to post: Live weather seems to mean overcast weather all the time. At first I didn't think anything about it since it has been very overcast all across Germany during the last weeks. But during this weekend, I looked into it a bit closer and cross-checked it using 3 different weather apps. The results: Nürnberg-Würzburg: IRL: sunny with light clouds Ingame: overcast (no rain) S-Bahn Vorarlberg: IRL: overcast with medium rain Ingame: overcast (no rain) Frankfurt-Fulda and S-Bahn Frankfurt (done right after another): IRL: light clouds and light rain Ingame: overcast (no rain) Bremen-Oldenburg: IRL: bright and sunny Ingame: overcast (no rain) Köln-Aachen: IRL: sunny with light clouds Ingame: overcast (no rain) Stuttgart-Heilbronn: IRL: sunny, light clouds, low possibility of rain Ingame: overcast (no rain) See a pattern emerging? And I was so excited to have live weather ingame... guess I'm gonna use it as much as I use TSR's, conductor mode or train faults in the future
Yeah I will too. And it doesn't hide all the beautiful lighting, like the current overcast "live" weather does. It's frustrating tho. If they announce something as an "exciting new feature" they should make 200% sure it works properly upon release. I know, I shouldn't be surprised since we've seen it so often now that this won't happen, but it literally bugs me nonetheless
As if the feature decided to prove me wrong, I just did a late evening ICE service from Frankfurt to Fulda, with live weather activated, and for the first time in weeks it wasn't overcast but only slightly cloudy, which matches the current forecast for the region So it seems to work after all. Occasionally.
i think this would be a good topic to add to the coming roadmap. Even if there is no solution i think it might be good to talk us through how it works, what DTG expect of the system and if it behaves as they expect it to behave.
