Hm that's weird - I am running on an Ubuntu based distro (so similar to SteamOS) and I'm having no issues. Is it possible you're running multiple versions of UE4ss or something? The "Install mod" action - also installs UE4ss so everything comes packaged with it nowadays.

Thank you very much for the quick reply! I deleted everything UE4ss related and reinstalled the mod using the Controller App. Now everything works. For some reason I fixated on the documentation on the TSW Controller App homepage and Github, leading me to miss the "Install/Reinstall Game Mod" button and look for complex solutions... Maybe you can add that step ("How to install the mod to your game" or something like that) to your documentation to help people like me to an easier start! Thank you again for your support as well as the amazing app!

    Hi,
I just tried to use your fantastic software with TSW7, but no joy. All the buttons seem to work but the axis have no effect in game. Also, the debugger just shows waiting for cab state.

I'm praying you are able to update this as it is such an essential bit of software for us TSC-X users

It's probably still detecting the old TSW6 CommAPIKey.txt file - you might want to check the settings tab to see what that path says or install the mod into TSW7; also make sure to enable the HTTPAPI flag for TSW7 if you haven't already

Just jumped in to say THANK YOU! This app is awesome and I am actually enjoying learning the json coding (with the web app as a teacher lol)

    Hey Liah,
I had everything working perfectly in TSW6. Just switched over to 7 today. I launch with -httpapi, browsed to the new api key, reinstalled the game mod in the proper directory. All direct axes work great. BUT none of the button presses that call keystrokes (horn, bell, etc) work.

Any idea what could be the cause?

    Thanks,
    Eddie

Hm, if you trigger the keystroke buttons elsewhere like a word editor; does it type out the key or no?

How would I test that? How would I get the software to send those commands to a text editor?
    Thanks!

You can just select the profile and keep the app open while focusing focusing your actual computer on a text editor so you can type. The app just sends keystrokes so I'm wondering if it's the app or the game. Also I assume your actual keyboard still works in game ?

OK, yeah that works. when I press the bell button it sends a b, horn sends a space... but in-game, no response to the buttons but on the keyboard pressing the b key toggles the bell... spaces blows the horn...

That's strange; could it be that your system is suppressing the app when in-game? Can you try it with train sim world in windowed mode or enable always on top for the app to make sure it doesn't get suspended somehow?

Must be something odd with my system. I'll poke around. But the Direct Controls all work and that's what matters! Thanks!
