Hello folks, Tomorrow, October 13th at 6 pm UTC, we will run our October 2026 Roadmap stream. If you have any questions, please post them here. We will gather your questions beforehand, but please understand that we might not be able to answer all of them. To make things run smoothly, please use this thread for questions related to the Roadmap only. We look forward to seeing you in chat! All the best, Jan
can blurry textures ever be fully resolved, or is the best hope for them to be reduced on some routes?
When will the mildmay extension release. And are we gonna get the save layer feature back along with medals and scores. And are we ever gonna get at least one more save slot. Can you explain why consoles dont get any of the new features we only get live weather and that doesn't even work properly. And can we please have darker menus and pause screens its so flaming bright it actually hurts my eyes at nighttime. Also what is going on with the monthly mastery. Thanks
What's the timeline on fixing analogue stick inputs to get rid of the stop-start movement from diagonal inputs for those of us who use a controller, be that by choice on PC or necessity on console? Also on giving us a slower external camera option so that the 10% drift on my controller without a deadzone set, is not translated to 500mph movement.
You claimed that the new routes only had one report of minor case of blurry textures on Series S before relesse. That was shown to be incorrect when the executive producer turned on his more capable Series X just before game launched You said late last year that fixing blurry textures would be too long in fixing is not done by March. March was 7 months ago You said this issue would be a priority last year yet we see next door to no improvements on consoles while it looks like your actual priority was PC when you take a look at TSW7 exclusive features. You said you had a handle on the blurry texture issue but since then you have released 2 new routes with blurring textues on them and not one single routes has been cured of this plague. So my question is as follows Why should console owners remain customers of DTG when you consider how many times you have lied to us and spat in our face?
Hey guys, I have a couple for this roadmap Is there any way feedback threads and areas of discussion can be monitored a bit better? Because we've had so many bugs and feedback in those threads which isn't seen or acknowledged? For example the enhanced train screens never worked on console and there was feedback about it for years but no one picked it up until Matt did a console stream. In other feedback threads I've seen people repeating feedback from pages and only then has a community mod made a note of it. Are there any steps to help the game run better on consoles? Since TSW7 my games been blurring more and performance feelings like a step down?
On a related point, it'd be helpful to have acknowledgement that the ongoing, repeatedly flagged issues present in 6 that have been ported into 7 are planned to be addressed. i.e. the audio settings not saving issue which has now spread to layers, AI conductor etc. Audio popping noises on console - i.e. present for the Riviera line 802 and carried over into Airedale & Wharfdale.
I have a few topics that I hope will be covered in this roadmap. 1. For the NJT route, will both sections of track for the Main line and Bergen Line be featured from Secaucus to Glen Rock? Will the NJT GP40-2B and Comet V layer in on the NJT Morristown and New York to Trenton routes? Potential for the EMD F40PH-3C to be featured on this route in NJT and MN livery, since the base model already exists on the MBTA routes and TriRail route for TSW? 2. Will we see further improvements to the DLSS/DLAA and FSR upscalers? On older routes such as NYT which is an early TSW3 route, it does not look good with older scenery items and catenary wires artifacting/shimmering and the for locos that have ADU's such as the ACS-64, the ADU's are fuzzy and hard to read. It also appears text is a bit more difficult to read on PIS boards, departure boards and loco/stock destination boards. I find i have to run DLSS/DLAA at 200% screen percentage to minimize these issues, with TAA working flawlessly. 3. Will live weather be further improved upon? In some instances, the weather is incorrect even though it is supposed to follow live weather of the service you are running 4. Updates to the Richmond extension 5. Possible candidates for a route remaster? 6. fixes for AI conductor? Will it be ported to older routes and trains? There are some routes such as MBTA Boston Worcester where it partially works. The conductor would open the doors but i have to manually close the doors. Will AI conductor fully work on routes where there are both high level and low level platforms since trapdoors are involved on these types of trains (NJT MLV, MBTA CTC3 and MBTA CTC5)?
My questions for the roadmap: When will the confirm AFB speed bug on controller finally be fixed? It broke after you tied the bell controls to the same button combo. I don't do US trains, so I'm not interested in the bell. I do use the Vectron for all freight services, so not being able to confirm AFB speed on the controller is a major pain in the backside. The game's been out for a month now. How much longer... ?? When will live weather be fixed, as it doesn't seem to be able to handle precipitation. I've driven services in places where weather apps told me there was a warning of flooding caused by heavy rain fall. Yet, I have not seen a single drop with live weather Simple controls and steam trains: I was looking forward to finally getting into steam trains, using simple controls. Alas, my joy was shortlived. It seems that simple controls changes the sound of a steam train. I takes away the 'chuf-chuf-chuf' which is so typical for a steam train. Thereby robbing steam trains of their charm and attraction. Can you fix this problem, so that steam trains make the correct sound when using simple controls? AI conductor. I stopped using this. I used AI conductor on simple (always), but I got fed up with them as they always close the doors way too soon. Sometimes even 1:20 mins before departure. As this was totally unrealistic, I had to fire them.
What's the situation with performance and blurred textures of TSW 7 and the series going forward? Many of us on console are not playing the game as much like before considering these major issues which ruin the immersion and enjoyment. With this in mind, why does it feel like PC seems to be more of the focus nowadays?
This in a nutshell. You've promised blurry textures were a thing of the past, you'd got a handle on blurry textures, blurry textures were a thing of the past and blah blah blah blah. Blurry textures haven't been fixed. Matt posted a thread back in July 2nd stating "I'm trying to pull together a list of the blurry routes so I can prioritise the team on the fixes we've identified that need to be undertaken" First of all why has nothing come from that thread or the responses people submitted? Are we to expect yet another "we're working on it" type of response for yet another year? Next question, multiple people including myself have said they're not happy with controller inputs now. Whilst it might be nice to zoom around in external view for a few seconds, the change has completely ruined walking around and looking around in cab to actually interact with controls. Are you ever going to address these concerns and fix them or continue to ignore them? Next question: Given the above questions, the badly designed UI, yellow text on the hud, lack of suspension on tadami and so on, all of which seemed to come as a surprise to yourselves when you did livestreams, do you have an internal QA process and is anything tested at all before you decide to do a livestream and expect us to pay for it? Final question. In the TSW7 preview streams, Matt agreed it would be a good idea to have dedicated console preview streams for future releases. There hasn't since been any preview streams on console so it's this now considered a bad idea given the state of the game on console and that it may crash again on a live preview like it did last time you did a console preview?
A dedicated Xbox preview stream would be good, despite that it went wrong recently. Would it not be useful to educate developers, especially third party developers? And is it possible to lobby Xbox for more sales?
Could we have a explanation on why dlss does not work on xbox pc Even after patch and can it be fixed?
+1 to getting layer selection fixed so that it saves your settings, just like it did in TSW6. Also curious about live weather, why does it seem to always show overcast skies, no matter what? Is this a known issue? As for the much-too-bright UI screens, please tell us there is a solution for that. Finally, freight hauler. Is there a fix to show info cards in scheduler mode? Will there be an ability to select number of starting wagons? How about deleting wagons that are in impossible positions, without affecting your session? Saving your "high score?" There are many other suggestions in the Freight Hauler feedback thread; are any being considered?
will the arrows be added to the trenton line and when will the announcements be added also and when will the bergen line be available also in tri rail when you miss the platform the doors still open off the platform and it does that in nk coact line also
Can DTG please give an honest update on the state of blurry textures on console which seem to have got worse since TSW7 has released and will console players ever realistically be able to fully use the layers they own? Can you also explain why this moved from being a top priority over a year ago to seemingly being forgotten about for TSW7? Why are some menu settings including layers still not saving and reverting back to default when restarting the game? Some of these have been reported since the release of TSW6. Why were passenger improvements advertised for TSW7? Will live weather be fixed to work correctly? Finally, another +1 for any info on a release date for the Richmond extension? Thanks!
Has the roadmap article been published so we can ask questions that will be relevant to the roadmap please?
+1 on this. The state of the passenger system is atrocious, so when 'passenger improvements' was flagged in the Dovetail Direct video it was to be hoped there would be at least something coming down the pipe.
For the NJT Bergen Line. Will the F40PH-2CAT and F40PH-3C locomotives have reworked models for NJT & MN liveries plus layering in onto Morristown Line for more service? Also with the ALP45 onto the Bergen Line?
Same here. I'll second the question. Why were passenger improvements announced when there's literally no difference in passenger behaviour? Or in other words: Since the current passenger system has been criticised a lot lately (and rightly so, if I might add), are there any plans to improve or even overhaul it?
More in hope than expectation but I have to keep asking: With optimisation fixes, will we ever see a full Frankfurt S-Bahn release on console? Is that a goal (however long-term)?
