Birmingham Crewe was ATS’s original route, but when the split happened and AABS was formed they took that over. I can’t remember where MAC came from but I don’t think ATS was involved in the initial making of it.
To bad both ECML routes London and Doncaster ones are in the wrong era as my dream to have a valenta hst in tsw with GNER since there my chilhood trains and there are no other routes for the right era for valenta
Couldn’t agree more. With a bit of work, hopefully a third party can pick up the Valenta varient and perhaps take a run at remastering Doncaster - Peterborough early 2000s!
That blue GNER livery was beautiful as well, would love a mod timetable set in that era, especially if we got the 91 too.
GNER featured one of the best UK liveries of all time, Imo! Good, old times . Would die to see something like this in game .
Never really liked that livery, the Intercity Swallow livery is the king of liveries. Or a two-tone green Deltic and a rake of maroon Mk 1s.
My childhood lively that is been going on the 91 since I was little main I love gner would a backdated Kings Cross before rebuild when it was dark
The route looks like it'll be set in the current era going by the images on the KX approaches. So it'll be the Thameslink/Great Northern "livery" and LNERs two liveries. Maybe a few GBRs will be about by then too. I get the feeling those owning the 387 pack will get a wider selection of Electrostar liveries, possibly even a 379 too.
For PC players, there's a lovely timetable by Mad31Basher on TSC for the ECML Peterborough - Doncaster route that's set in 1998, right in the middle of the GNER era with tons of stock running around in early privatisation and inherited BR liveries.
Been a while since an update but this was shown on the roadmap livestream. really impressive modelling
it annoys me that screenshots often get shared on the stream, which i have little interest in watching live, rather than the article itself
brilliant, thanks for clearing that up. the fact that it’s getting its own article separate from the roadmap really strengthens my belief that the 91 will be included, an announcement of that stature deserves its own day. i hope i shan’t be eating my own words a couple of days from now
I guess it's fair enough, I seldom watch the streams as the article usually covers it, but I suppose it makes sense times to counter that with some exclusives.
Isn't the 90 okay now? I only held off because of the poor timetable but with the new cargo line pack it now seems worth getting.
The 90 would be so much better if it layered into other routes. But on wmnl south with about 15 jobs.
After the post-release patch and the application of 4K textures from the ATS website, I was pleased with the quality of the Class 90. To be fully satisfied, however, I would like to see improvements to the sound quality (there is no limit to perfection when it comes to sound, and there is always room for improvement) and the engine room interior.
In the new Roadmap, Skyhooks Cargo Line Volume 7 Vans, will have a WCML(S) timetable that includes the 90, 70, 220 and 805 into one timetable
Let's just hope it doesn't miss out a whole bunch of services like the 158 Fife timetable. Plus this sounds like an absolute shoe in for blurry textures on console
Back on topic, I trust ATS to build the 91 and do a good job of it. Highly unlikely to release with the route itself, unless they decide to a deluxe package. As I’ve said before, I wouldn’t be surprised if there is no release date this side of spring.
I don’t have any worries regarding the route as MAC was brilliant imo. Super detailed, but a little short of course. I would rather they didn’t take on the class 91 unless it’s on par with JTs class 86/87. I found it a tad disingenuous to release 4k textures for PC players only.
This have few route hoping like hoping there one from Harringay to Harringay Green Lanes on the Suffragette line hope one from Kings Cross to Camden Road on Mildmay line and Kings Cross to Euston on WCMLS
It's cool to see it set in stone as going as far as Peterbourgh, don't know if it was confirmed previously but driving from Kings cross to Doncaster will be great, i hope we eventually get a route to York or even Darlington and then perhaps Newcastle
To add a little bit of context regarding that screenshot, and to give a peek behind the curtain: Roadmap articles are being drafted and written over weeks, with information for different projects being added as it becomes available. Screenshots need to be checked and greenlit by our Licensing team, since the depiction of brands might not be allowed until the license owners give their okay. Then they need to be watermarked and added to the article. In this case, the screenshot just barely missed the deadline for the article, but was greenlit in time for the stream. I would've loved for this one to be included in the Roadmap article, because it looks fantastic, but it just didn't work out. Glad we were still able to show it yesterday, though.
Am I looking for something that isn't there? Or is this PIS board covered to prevent any number of cars being seen that could giveaway any new rolling stock... Such as '7 car' formation that could potentially reveal a 91 in their current form. Or maybe I should get the tin foil hat off the shelf and blow the dust off of it as I'm over analysing things...
Perhaps it hasn’t been implemented yet? Don’t they build routes and do the timetable towards the end of the development cycle? Could be that? I’d love to see the 91 but suspect it could be a future DLC? Wasn’t something mentioned about more info on this route tomorrow??
They all look off to me. Doesn't matter who does the 91, I hope they do a 9 car and 7 car set if it's a modern LNER one.
Honestly the main requirement of the class 91 is a intercity version aka the most iconic version of the class 91
I don’t give a toss mate, there’s been multiple times where third parties have include extras No point including the intercity 225 without the best livery it ever wore
Well this may now make the 90 into a worthwhile purchase, because in addition to the general state it was in at release and the current low-res textures, the other issue preventing me from buying it is the lack of a decent timetable. Back onto the topic of the 91, I don't understand why people think it would be included with the route. It's a massive route in terms of trackwork, with speculation already flying around that it won't even get to Peterborough, so I really can't imagine it including a locomotive with two different cabs, five different coaches and a DVT. We'd be looking at an £80 route. As a separate DLC maybe, but as others have said, remember which 3P is making it before getting too excited...
I am hoping it will include the short tunnel section to St. Pancras low level for most of the Thameslink services.
It would be no different than any other “new” train included with a route. JT had to make their Class 87 and various Mark Three coaches for Shap, TSG the Krokodil and n stock for Mittenwaldbahn. If the 3P’s want to play in the big leagues with an iconic route like this, then they need to have the resources to back it. However, you are quite right that ATS’ record on the 90 and apparently some of the trains they made for TSC is not exactly world class, so I would rather the IC225 undertaken by a more worthy developer, if there’s going to be one.
I wouldn’t buy the speculation of the route not reaching Peterborough. Early screenshots showed a signal box just outside, plus the station itself already exists as an asset from the DTG core route. If ATS put hard graft into getting North London right, there are very few bespoke assets required north of the Welwyn Viaduct, with the exception of Stevenage, which should be a doddle for ATS.
It’s now being referred to officially as Kings Cross to Peterborough. And screenshots of Peterborough have been shown. So… it’s going to Peterborough.
The only third party I can think of is JT for the UK, and the ones they did were all era-appropriate. We would get ox blood Intercity anyways. I would love the Coke can livery as well.
I’m not sure if anyone has seen it yet, but there’s already some information about the route on Steam:
3rd time we're getting an 801. Why can it not be an 800 which would give the LNER fleet more versatility on other routes in TSW? Would be nice if it included reskins for Hull Trains and Lumo, with reskinned interiors, seeing as the 801/1 can be used as the base model, but realistically I don't think ATS, like DTG, cba to do that. Also, no mention of a 717 for the Moorgate <-> Welwyn and Stevenage services? That's a shame. I'll wait for the article (assuming it's coming later today), but if this is all were getting, then honestly it goes to show how a route with so much potential has become a wasted opportunity. I'll try be optimistic in the meantime.
Better question is why another iet era route, most iets are just copy and pasted of each other, gner, old LNER red and white or older stuff would have been better
