very weird article, i hope future ones aren’t like this as well as most of it seemed to be an advert for tsw7 features and legacy content, barely any detail about the 70 itself
I guess this is wait for a sale, then. Not spending £15 on a loco when most of what I'll get out of it is driving 170s on the Midland Mainline.
Two out of the five routes I don't own anyway (TVB and the A&W). So think this will be one for a sale next year some time.
The 70 definitely needs the exhaust to be darker. https://youtube.com/shorts/f86sb1429Yo?si=_TwdaT0dB7doGgfR
Not really there was a decent amount as well as saying what routes it will be used on. the services, scenarios. Dont forget they are a business so making extra money on the other sales of DLC is a bonus for them. I mean some people still dont have TSW 4, 5, 6 or 7 , let alone the Midland Mainline route. So this could persuade them to buy TSW 7, the Class 70 and the routes that they need. Dont forget Dovetail are a business at the end of the day. I have had a go on the 70 already and really enjoyed it. Hentis
It really does sound great, much like I said with the 153, this seems like one of those units that will really sound like a train. Often even with the best sounding engines & motors in TSW, you miss that rumble that you can translate into physical feeling. Glad to see this will be another unit that achieves some weightiness through the sounds. Great to see some new engineering wagons in too - especially some common ones. hopefully now we have a fleet of engineering stock, we’ll see more utilisation of a so far under-represented side of the railway in TSW. On that note though it’s a shame that the effect of ballast dropping is clipping through the wagons is present, it takes place in an event where most of us are likely to be looking at the wagons - is it too much to ask it to be fixed? I will agree with other users concerns in regard to console performance though, releases here are just too risky to take a chance on now & even with the highest quality stuff I just have 0 confidence in releases now. Especially from a dev such as AAS who are 0 for 3 on their console releases. Also doesn’t help their 805 still has a pretty visible issue that’s been ignored by them for so long, so I don’t see how I’m supposed to be confident that this add-on won’t develop an issue down the line & that issue would be fixed, because they’re busy selling new content instead. The MML timetable could really sweeten the deal though, but again depending on console performance & the stream not really showing it in the best light. Also agree with the article being odd, half of it being dedicated to other subjects and products hasn’t done anything to tell me more on the product they’re advertising, especially when most of those things aren’t even available to half of the games user base. Some stream feedback too - it was surprisingly pleasant for once & one of the few I haven’t turned off after a few minutes, so more of this please.
Just curious, Will the 70 & the wagons be livery designer compatible? I missed the live stream, so wasn't able to ask at the time & rewatching it, I've heard no mention of livery designer, haha. There's no mention in the article either. Only curious as I know the majority of DLC is livery designer compatible & CC compatible, but others aren't due to reasons (licensing, etc) Thanks in advance
I like that it has about 100 services available across several routes. It seems to run okay from what I've seen and it is something different than the Shed! (I do love a good Shed like Harry does, but sometimes something a little different can be fun too) MML isn't by "bag" but technically it's across 5 lines (but only two are primary it looks like?) Anyway, it could help sell other routes, since I like a good freight run (saying good goods was tempting but I held back). I had no plan to get Trend or Medway or Airedale since they're passenger focused... but this might be a reason to. I did see David Pearson's video listed the WCML-S as having layers and that's not on the official press release?
I might be wrong but I think I heard one of the AABS team say in the preview stream it’ll be coming to the 805 timetable in an update after launch so I’m presuming that’ll be the WCMLs route
Yes I thought that one as well. As TrainSimTV pointed out the TSW7 features are not a selling point of the class 70 they interact with everything the same. Tell us more about the timetable and the features etc. By all means mention them at the end but dont break up the flow with a section most people scrolled past. It was like an unskippable YouTube advert
Does this only layer onto the 4 routes mentioned in the article. And does the trent valley route get another timetable or does in slot into the current one. Thanks
Just watched the stream and verdict somewhat out on this. Externally and internally it looks lovely, obviously a great deal of care gone into it. Sounds, well can’t dispute the AP source but it suffers (maybe prototypically) from the same issue as the CD 750 - the traction motors are pretty much drowning out the “stack music” more so in the cab where they are the only sound that can really be heard. And DTG Matt could at least do some of the runs in the cab with the doors and windows open, to demonstrate how much of the external audio can be heard in the cab. My biggest concern though is the braking. Seems to be way over powered, with just a minimum reduction that should just feather the speed causing a rapid reduction. A 40% reduction for the 10 MPH TSR (why are we still getting <20 MPH TSR’s on the main line?) could not be released before the train had come to a stand. So don’t know, maybe one for a 20% off sale that will bring the price down to the OG £12 for a loco add on.
Hey there, Where exactly are you looking? I can see it available in the webstore, and our Retail team confirmed it's available across the board. In any case, here is the PlayStation store link, should you still experience issues: https://store.playstation.com/en-gb/product/EP2866-PPSA37911_00-TSW7FRLBRCLASS70 Depending on what you enter into the search bar, the store might not deliver the expected results. We confirmed that the Add-On is available on Xbox, here is a direct link: https://www.xbox.com/en-GB/games/store/train-sim-world-7-freightliner-br-class-70/9n61hfmbqvh1
Wonder why it hasn’t been setup to sub on ECML Peterborough to Doncaster, that would give some nice long jobs to get stuck into.
It was on the PS app. It's available now. I use the PS app to make all my purchases and it was the first time this issue had cropped up.
I'm a WCML guy so don't really know that much about the ECML, certainly in modern times, but were there any workings that it could sub in for? To be honest, I don't know what the FL70s do anymore since their days on the coal traffic ended (I think I saw them on a modal twice). I've just finished the dishes so I'll go and buy it now
According to the screenshot baz66501 posted above, it says it should sub into Peterborough to Doncaster. How many of those listed routes is it actually subbing into? That list really peaked my interest since you would be able to use it on so many routes. If its not actually subbing in to all of them it that gives me pause about popping on this DLC. DW
It’s playable across all the 66 services in ECML, don’t know if it randomly subs in as AI on any of them.
Ah, okay. Just unless I skipped past it, wasn't shown on the PR brief. Mind, aren't some of those 66 runs on ECML borked as you end up arriving early and having to wait ages for it to complete?
Yes but there is a little cheat if come to a stand still. Then it will say wait until a time. Then crawl forward for a few seconds and the job will end.
Just installed the Colas Reskins (tried a couple), but doesn't show up (yes I do have liveries enabled, it works for other locos) in the timetable, i'm on PC, anyone else able to get this to work?
