There’s mostly likely at least 6 weeks between the Direct and TSW7 so plenty of time for more roadmap stuff to drop.

I think the last release for the TSW6 will actually be tadami line

see the union workshop statement and add to that the fact that they didn't even publish rftv schedule yesterday; they'll probably publish it on monday
also, tadami page on steam still up

as for the class 70 and the mildmay extension, those will be TSW7 releases for sure

I know off topic talking about the roadmap, but I think forum members would do well to remember the roadmap “rules”.

They’ve stuck with me since it first came about when mentioned by Sam, in one the initial TSW2 streams and they’ve never caused me any bother or confusion about what to expect, there always seems to be some drama involving the roadmap on here. The monthly question of when is the roadmap is coming, always makes me roll my eyes. Do we need a roadmap for the roadmap?

To paraphrase one of the initial roadmap streams when the roadmap had a slightly different setup, DLC can move up and down the roadmap or stay constant for a period of time and if a DLC (such as Class 104) disappears off the roadmap it just means that it’s not actively being worked on.

Sorry, my reply might have sounded a bit irritated, but what’s the point when the same thing gets written five times? I should have expressed that differently. Sorry about that but it is true that several people responded before you, so I got a bit annoyed. You wouldn’t enjoy it either if six or seven people gave the exact same answer… You already understand it after two replies.

No, it's just true. Dev Cycles are never guaranteed and because a developer says "it will release in this timeframe" doesn't mean it will.
For one moment, please, take the tinfoil hat off. It isn't that deep.

Yeah, maybe you’re right but then what’s left of it? You end up with a roadmap that you can’t really do anything with. In that case, it’s better to just stop with it, right? You’ve got a “0–3 months” section that isn’t actually 0–3 months at all; there are addons sitting there for 0–3 years. I find that really unclear. But well, DTG and clear communication have never exactly been a happy marriage.

"0-3 months" is an estimate. Its there to give us a rough idea of when routes will come out.

Would you rather they didn't delay stuff, and instead released even worse products so the roadmap remains correct?
Or would you rather the roadmap didn't exist so we don't have even the slightest idea of how long we have to wait?

    This is such a non-issue.

It’s quite simple: I don’t really need the roadmap if it doesn’t contribute to better quality. To me, the roadmap feels unnecessary, because its actual value is limited it’s not very reliable. I would prefer a well‑functioning product over all the commercial marketing around it. And unfortunately, it often happens that something doesn’t get released at all, as we saw with the BR420.If they still want to provide information, I understand that some users appreciate an update once per quarter or once every six months about upcoming addons but without promises like “0–3 months” followed by “this may change,” which doesn’t add anything. A monthly roadmap usually ends up repeating the same content.

And this is my opinion you asked for it, so that doesn’t mean others have to agree. It’s simply my own view on the matter.

Roadmaps are double-edged. They exist first and foremost as a marketing tool for DTG to show off upcoming content to keep TSW relevant and customers "hooked" (don't necessarily mean it in a negative or cynical way, just business doing business) but they do sometimes contribute to a level of expectation that can easily lead to customers being disappointed by stuff not being released as soon as implied or content not living up to expectations.

I enjoy roadmaps as a way of having something to look forward to but usually more than half of them won't have much new (usually from March to August), so I do recognise they aren't necessary and will always paint a too-optimistic picture.

I doubt though doing these monthly or quarterly does actually impact quality, except maybe in a very indirect way.

Question would you like be happy if some or me make a backdated version of this route as it set in pre 2006 When line went to North Woolwich and have Sliverlink 313 my childhood of this line Screenshot 2026-09-12 092501.png

Would love to see it though might be a tricky one since we don't actually have a dual voltage 313 in the game, only Southern's 313/2 refits which removed the AC function, and the 314 which is AC only. Unless you're planning to get into Simugraph and modelling a new one... :o

i think it’s fair enough that it’s going up by a fiver, hopefully the route is better optimised and lots of existing bugs are ironed out

Five miles, five stations, another £5. Think I'll pass - presumably the 378's still aliased to the old 377/387 soundset?

I mean, it's a bit of a cheek given the line should have gone to Richmond in the first place.

It's only an extra fiver if you don't have it already. If you do, it's a free extension.

If you buy it before next Thursday it's still the original price and it'll still be a free upgrade.

Noted, but really not that bothered about it. An element of DTG maybe trying to push extra sales before the price hike takes effect?

I would be thrilled if the 710 received support for a suspension feature. However, the article says nothing about this—other than the fact that owners of the Suffragette Line will get additional traffic featuring the Class 710. It’s a real shame that this won’t be happening. DTG, please, just make it happen already!!!

I don't "need" a lot of things. However, other people enjoy them. A large number of people like the roadmap. I say let them. If nothing else it's something for the community to talk about.

Yeah its not needed to pay the extra price. When you think after release i dont like it you can do a refund.

It depends on which platform you're on; PlayStation doesn't have the same refund system as other platforms.

Yes agreed. Personally I feel that if a train without suspension is featuring on a route with trains with suspension, then it should be brought up to the same standard.

It also features on WCMLs whose trains all have suspension.

Still I shall now buy the route as the extension is coming out. I enjoyed it in TSC and it looks very good from what I've seen of the TSW version.

Isn’t the route only 12 miles without the update?
And now they want us to pay the same as Blackpool branches and many other addons which have more mileage than this route?

    talk about way over priced

Looks good, and I'm delighted I won't have to pay again for the full experience. I thought the original was a bit undercooked so this extension will do nicely!

An extra fiver for the complete route versus the truncated original doesn't seem too bad to me, but I suppose I would say that since I'm an existing owner.... The extra work will have cost the devs time and resource, however, so I guess it's understandable.

This route makes no sense now, era-wise.
The D78 stock and South West Trains, both departed in 2017, yet the Stratford end is at least dated 2022.
Anyone who wants to go back in time, just drive from Stratford to Richmond!

I'm happy to see Richmond added, but it shows the need for more period accurate stock.

Why not buy it now for a fiver less then and get the update for free next week? Or if you were waiting for it to be in another sale just wait till then and get it anyway?

Or: this thing was already worth full price from the beginning. And I enjoyed it thoroughly. And now it's improved and extended for free. I genuinely think it's great.

Blackpool Branches is mainly rural scenery. This a route all the way around London. That´s a very different level of work.

Yes. That is my current strategy as well. The SEHS layers around St Pancras are hardly visible, so I turned those off. Doesnt give me blurs then.

I do keep all the layers at Stratford though, as they are essential to the experience (imo)

Well I know it's not currently in the sale hence me saying if you were waiting for it to be in a sale previously then surely you still wait anyway???

I got it last year when it was at 20 or 25% off... Great route.

Has nothing do with scenery mate, this route has always been overpriced for what you actually get compared to other routes

short routes in general shouldn’t cost above £20 let alone £30

I'd like to agree, but I can't think of a short route in game for $20 outside of a sale.
Isle of Wight, West Somerset, even the Alpine routes... all $30 or more and that's not new.
    They have been for years.
(I guess the Alpine routes are more like 24 miles, not 12 but still... I think it launched around that price and it stays at that price when not on sale. That way when it's $12 they can claim it's 70% off...which is technically accurate.
Point is, that's how TSW has pretty much always been.
We can't act surprised now and pretend it's a "new" thing.
What we can do is wait for a sale if we think it's too much to pay.

To add, It's not always fair to use the length of the route as an indicator for its price. One could argue that Mildmay offers a lot more interesting things to see and do than let's say, Kassel-Wurzburg or LGV Mediterranee.

    NTP is £20
    TVL is £20
    MSB is £20
    Glossop is £20
    WSR is £20
Pretty much all these have A more miles and B more to do

you also need to take in count what you can get for £30
All of which has more miles and variety

Some of those were also the good old days where we got 2 locos per add on as well. In NTP (101, 47, 45) and TVL (08, 101, 37) we got 3! HFP for a similar price to a loco DLC gave us the 08 and the 40 with a bunch of wagons too!

Technically you are correct that on Steam they are currently on sale for under $20.
However, that's exactly what I said to do because they are not normally under $20.
Thank you for proving my point?

For the record, at no point did I say I'd buy them at full price or that it was a "good deal."
The opposite in fact on this very forum. Just observing that it's not unusual at all for TSW.
Again... they're on sale since they're older routes.
If people want Mildmay cheaper, just wait another year and it will be on sale for quite a bit off.
