Okay, that seems like a decent amount of variety for the switchers out there. Actually looks pretty good - subject to the recently introduced bugs being ironed out before its launch.

After seeing the article, I may as well point out a few things for sure:
-Looks like the industrial harbor in Hamilton will be included (as a switching route obviously)

-"And the route will also include a variety of contemporary freight equipment, including covered hoppers, tank cars, steel cars, center-beam flats, auto racks, boxcars, and hoppers." And from the steam description, they put in 4 different cars. So I only see 4 out of the 7 rolling stocks they mentioned to be included. (Unless they made more under CN's logo since the last article)

-and lastly; "the Canadian National Oakville Subdivision route will be packed with mainline freight, local, transfer, and switching operations" Sure the GP38 can do Mainline Freight as it's a Road Switcher. However, the GP9 is more for, again, the locals and switching.

While the trailer does not show much of the route itself, I will see what it truly offers with the Dev-stream next week hopefully.

Can someone from DTG please confirm the presence of the seven types of freight as per the article?

And will they be loaded at all with cargo or are they empty as evident from the center beams in all the pictures?

I'm very excited. Especially about loading the tank cars with oil or liquid gas. And I would bet, that there will be a GO Train Addon for this route with the MP36 and the bombardier bilevel cars in the future. Garry wrote about the Baby Bullet train article from yesterday two times about Go Train. And Go Train is the Baby Bullet train operator on OSD.

This looks like the closest thing we'll get to New Zealand freight operations so I'm definitely excited for this.

Ohhh my excitement is going way up north! I’ve been waiting for a route based around North American freight! I was hoping for something more in a mountain region, but this looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun. Oh Canada, thank you for having such cool railroads. I’ll be counting down the days!

If GO is added a route extension would have to happen. I see a sd40-2w as a dlc though.

Except it has no passenger services, which TVL did in the form of the Class 101. If it included the GO services as well I'd have preordered it ages ago, even with the short route length.

I’m actually okay with it not having any passenger services, at least at the beginning. We have Rapid transit, LIRR and WSR that only feature passenger services and even routes like ECW feel like freight was an after thought. I’m actually quite happy that they made a route focused on freight services first and I will definitely be picking this up. Hopefully in the future we will see some kind of passenger services on this route!

I myself am happy that we will have another freight route only on PC, it will the first freight only for Console hopefully that will change and DTG will get CSX done for Console at some point as well.

IMO, the SD40-2W should be included as standard, instead of DTG being lazy by just rehashing the CSX / UP GP38 with a different livery. Same would apply for the MP36 units on GO Commuter trains for passenger service, but who am I to complain???

They couldn’t get enough references for widecabs, and they don’t have a “GO” license.

The more I see of this route the more I’m tempted, I’ll watch the live stream from TrainSim-Dmitri & TrainSim-Matt.

Is that common knowledge? I don’t doubt you but I’m just wondering where/how you know this, did Matt sate this was the case?

Yes, but they only included images of four of them, and as Challenger3985 said, the Steam description of the route only says four.

Okay, who is Anthony and where sis
Well, it's been possible to open the "lid" of tank cars since their first appearance in the first route, CSX, but filling or emptying them has yet to be possible in TSW. Perhaps this will become available in this Canadian route, but I haven't seen anything . . . wait! what am I doing? ... I've let myself be drawn in to the speculation wormhole!

Just let us wait till the release on Thursday. Than we will know it absolutely. Perhaps we get more information in the dev stream on Wednesday too.

The GP9 had CN Zebra stripes? And could you hear the diesel engine and horn noises?

The one I saw didn't have zebra stripes. I saw it in St. Lambert (right outside of Montreal), it was carrying a small load (15 carts).

It would be weird if they included this function as the loading/unloading of cars is something that is down to the customer. The cars will be spotted by CN and then the customer will load/unload them using their own pumping equipment when they are ready to do so.

    - As stated in the article, the route rolling stock will include "covered hoppers, tank cars, steel cars, center-beam flats, auto racks, boxcars, and hoppers."

    - Both articles have detailed that the Hamilton Industrial District is included.

    - The GP9RM is also a road-switcher and is capable of operating on the main line. Indeed, CN's GP9RM rebuilding program included such units configured for main line, local and yard functions.

Ok then, I had no idea the GP9rm's also operate on the mainline services as well (learned something new every time). But (no offense) are you really sure there are 7 types of rolling stocks included in the route, as you said? (again, no offense)

In reality GO TRANSIT has the MP40PH-3C, not the MP36.

So it actually has a 4,000 hp EMD 16-710G3B engine rather than a 16-645F3 generating 3,600 HP.

So you're telling me that there gonna be subbing in rolling stocks, from either Heavy Haul, NEC or both (which the "both" part is only possible from PC that is)? Even the GP40-2 add-on that has the Steel Coil Car with it? (and taking the bet that the Hoppers is coming from P.C. as well)
