Hey everyone! Well it's been 2020 for quite some time now, I think it's time for a 2020 Screenshots thread.

    20191005131132_1.jpg

TrainSim-Dmitri perhaps if you agree we could get this stickied? Many thanks

By the way, do you know where the setting is to enable 4K screenshots? I've looked through game settings and didn't see anything (another thread mentions that there's a screenshot quality setting - well, there isn't in mine!)

Early morning, July 1990. 50035 Ark Royal thunders through the Oxfordshire countryside on the 0635 Network SouthEast Oxford to Paddington service, stopping at Didcot Parkway, Reading, and London Paddington.

50035 was the first class 50 to be preserved, bought by The Fifty Fund, headed by Derek Spraklen (who today is bringing 50021 Rodney back to running condition).

Exploring the York to Peterborough route with the Armstrong Powerhouse class 37. One of the best third-party add-ons, in my opinion. :)

These are pretty good. The third picture in your set is probably the strongest, because you've successfully managed to capture the light striking the front of the train.

That'd be one of the things I usually try to do - usually the light is shining from either the left or the right side of the train, so I usually photograph whichever side has the sunlight, as that tends to make the pictures stand out more.

I like the trackside angle in these photos, I think your second and third images do this quite well. I'd also say I tend to zoom in quite a lot in my photos, in general I try to make it so the train fills the whole of the frame as much as possible. I think an example of this from your set would be the first photo is too zoomed out, whereas your third picture is better because you used zoom. Probably if I was taking your first picture, I would have zoomed in more and also shifted the camera up and to the right slightly, as you've cut off the top of the battersea power station - I'd have probably tried to frame it so the train is in the bottom left of the frame, and there is a little bit of sky showing just above the chimeys of the power station.

Just some tips/ideas, I hope it was useful! And as always, it's just my opinion. I'd say picture three is pretty much perfect as is, I don't think I would've changed anything.

I always use the Pause/Break key to freeze the game and then use the world camera to move around until I get exactly the composition I want.

An Acela glides over the Raritan River Bridge on it's first test run. Yes, this is inaccurate (Acelas on the NJCL)... But I'm writing a little document on a fictional future for the Acela as the Avelia Liberty takeover date gets closer.

There are scenarios where you race against an AI train that is set to max speed.

I'm currently revamping the old Northeast Corridor, so this is my version of the Portal Bridge in Kearny, NJ, just after Secaucus Junction on the NEC.

A C&O Allegheny thunders through the New River Gorge (it's really just a part of the B&LE route) with a heavy coal train in the summer of 1947. On the rear end, a Kanawha acts as a helper engine.

This is from a scenario I'm working on, set on the Bath - Templecombe line in 1995 (if it was still open obviously). This image shows Class 31 No. 31106 moving from the TMD to the adjacent siding to collect some scrap coaches, whilst an unidentified Class 33 ticks over nearby.

For what it is its a very good route, though there are still alot of places that are missing their scenery or bridges, hopefully one day the route will see its full completion.
