Dovetail really likes the Ruhr area huh?
It looks ok I guess but similar to what we already have for German routes.
We still need a shunter but that's a different story. A German diesel loco would also be nice and something different

Which one is the inside of the cab from? Is that the 425? It looks to have analogue gauges, nice :)

In the email there is a pre-order option but it leads no where and when I check TSW2020 on steam there is nothing there as well.

Just kidding. I also like the look of the 425, and I think this will be a great route! Question though, apart from the 422 and 425 which are included in the DLC, and the 146 + Doppelstockwagens and 185 + freight cars from MSB, are there also other loco's and freight cars available on this route? Like the 155 and 182. On Rhein-Ruhr Osten, all locomotives work on it so will it be the same on this route?

Looks interesting. Nice too see all that traffic if you own MSB, which I do.

I guess this looks... fine? It doesn't look like anything particularly interesting but I don't really care since I never buy the German routes anyway.

Liking the schedule that dtg now has for dlc, seems like they're really trying to build up a big selection of route and locos

This is almost identical with RRO. S-bahn, short as hell and no relevant new locomotives. DB BR 425 it's a new EMU, however it's a similar driving experience to DB BR 422.

I do agree with you. I'm staying positive simply because of my low standards. Oakville Sub really lowered them so now anything that doesn't appear to be a broken, short mess looks good to me.

I don't know about this one.

+ It looks good and in an interesting urban area
    + German
+ Timetable mode looks varied with MSB
+ Diverging routes, even though for only a few km

    - only S-Bahn services in the default package, guess that means 5 scenarios with 422s and 425s as well
    - short route AGAIN
    - no IC or ICE services
    - VERY similar setting as the last route (Rhein-Ruhr Osten)
    - Oakville route left a sour taste

I will wait for the stream with this one, even though I love German routes. The route should lead all the way to Dortmund and include an Intercity train in my opinion.

I hope the next German route will be a rural one instead of an S-Bahn.

Imagine if DTG made a new German route that was unique and not just another S-Bahn

Good and bad on this, if the routes are similar then they can reuse the existing traction and provide a lot more services on the route (350 in this case). Disparate route often means disparate traction, means less services (or all services on the route being the same traction)

Great news. I was hoping for European route and waiting for it. I really like NRW area in Germany and to have another route in there is nice. The best thing is that it really brings the area alive.
I wish that MSB could be brought to life like that as well thou.

What is wrong with RRO? It is absolutely brilliant, short route.

Thou, while all is good, something longer would be nice or extension of a current route in game would be nice and welcomed too ;)

What is the mileage of this one? Similar to RRO?

I have to say that this is indeed a strange followup to the RRO DLC seeing as how similar the driving experience and landscape seem to be. I don't mind that in and of itself, but it would go a long way to add a diesel shunter to this and the existing German routes. I just don't quite understand what is holding them back from what is obviously a lucrative selling point.

Great I love the 425 with that traction sound from Adtranz, btw sadly we won’t be able to use the 182 with the DoppelStockwagen. How long is it supposed to be ? 12,6 kilometers ?

Basically a RRO v.2. Average of 25min for a single run. This is a skip for me if something special is not revealed in the pre-release stream.

Well the quantity is decreasing as we’re now getting more shorter routes yet paying the same price for every piece of DLC.

I second this. I don't think anyone asked for another slow paced commuter route. I'm pretty sure if DTG has DB's licensing then they can just make an ICE route, it's not like it's a separate entity. They seem to think we love S-Bahns and commuter routes even though nobody has said so. From what I've read most people agree that the best German Routes are Ruhr-Sieg Nord and Main-Spessart Bahn, while nobody really loves Rhine-Ruhr Osten and Rapid Transit. Unless this brings something new to the table I can't see it being too unique or interesting, especially when ICE lines exist.

I'm not a betting man but if I was i'd say an ICE route will come out with TSW 2021. Which is also when the last long route came out.

Developing an ICE route would force DTG to develop a route longer than pretty much any route that we've received thus far. Fast trains require long routes, and DTG does not seem to be prioritising length.

Well don't you think they should make longer routes? I think a lot of people (including me) are willing to wait if the final product has more mileage and less glitches.

UK - 1x 20 year old electric train.

Nice to see DTG stepping on the gas and pumping out lots of DLC in 2020.....but it seems to be at the expense of longer routes, this is the 4th route since Pen Corridor under 30miles. I really hope this isn't their MO now

The S-Bahn Trains are very nice. You need to stop every two min. and have a lot to do, but why DTG can't add the line from Dortmund to Düsseldorf with ICE 3 and 2? Why DTG only build the 35 Km long version, whitout ICEs and Thalys????

I think this is a very good question. I am very glad you asked....!

Does the 155 work on this route, and......... has anyone got a PS4 out of the cupboard (or fetched one from the local shopping centre), and tested the 155 on this route...? We don't want another disaster like the one that happened with the DB BR 155 on RSN, where the 155 is still broken on PS4..... in all of the tunnels.....!!!?

While we're here, there's a couple more questions:

    - Have the 425 and 422 been tested on this route...... on the PS4...?
    - The route is described as being from "Duisburg to Bochum", so does that actually mean Duisburg to Bochum, or does it mean half-way from Duisburg to Bochum? Is the Oakville-style "Let's pretend the content is double the size it really is" thing being applied here....?

I think - to know for sure - we'll have to see the release of the production version of the DLC...., but there's no harm in asking now.... ;-O

Hopefully we'll get confirmation that the 155, 182, 143 and maybe even the 185.5 can be used on HRR as well.....technically I see no reason why they couldn't be as they were for RRO

Probably would have preordered by now. Looks nice and a new german route is always welcome. Should be a no-brainer right?. Well, after OSD, sadly no more. Cheers

This route is ideal for an ICE or IC service due to it beeing used by a lot of them in reality...I hope, that at least one of these will be released for this route shortly.

I believe it was stated on the Discord server that the layers that are added by owning MSB include everything that can spawn on MSB, so that's every German loco except the 185.5 and Talent 2. Presumably, if the 185.5 gets added to MSB in the future, then it too will appear on HRR or whatever the short form of this new route is.

This looks nice. I don't usually complain about short routes because I know there is more to a route than it's length. I have driven some long routes in Train Simulator which were simply boring... empty scenery but long distance. This route takes only 23 minutes via ICE 845. I reckon it takes much longer on the all-stop services.

A short route is not bad if it has great scenery, high detail, and variety like freight. I was not a big fan of freight services when I started playing last year, but the experience of switching and all the other tasks made me love it. It is so engaging. These days I love both freight and passenger services.

I usually rush out to pre-order as I have the entire collection for Train Sim World, but not this time. The whole fiasco regarding Oakville has taught me to exercise caution. I would like to hear from reviewers before I purchase. To be honest, I have enjoyed the German routes to date. They look great visually and the locos are fun to drive.
