Sharing a boss hot spot on St. Johns. It is the last peg on the bottom left corner of the map. Bosses I have caught since latest patch: The Hulk, Silvertail (2X), Felix, Pale Tail, Big Plated (2X), Baby Plated (2X), The Italian, and a couple of lost bosses according to my log. Position 1 and 2 are weed beds and all of the bosses have been caught there with pop up Tiger nuts on #4 Chod. I was pleased that Big Plated is the Euro Fishing Cover Girl!
I meant to include that pretty much all of my sessions have been 2:00 am until 8:00 am and if there is pretty good activity I will keep going until it plays out.
You're fishing from peg 29, the peg to the right being 28. Both great spots, known as the Henman Hill Swims, exactly where I've caught majority of BF on St John's too. If you like to fish clean, theres a patch of gravel on both pegs between 30-40 yards out, tricked a few from there too. Congrats on Big Plated, stunning fish.
Thank you for the info and congrats, Hendore! It's good fun. I think I have a blow back rig in the tackle box for that gravel bar.
If you follow the bank around to where your No1 rod indicator is there's an outlet pipe where you can free fish from, caught plenty of bosses stalking from there
Ah, I know that pipe from stalking with a float. I wonder if Pink Belly is hiding in there. That fish STILL eludes me! Thanks, tracko644.
Thanks for recommending this swim, just caught hulk on my first cast with tigers, first thing you saw was his massive tale 70 yards away!!! Will keep fishing this spot, the big fish seem to like the weedy areas
If anyone can give me a pointer as to where I might find Tyrion Tench it would be much appreciated. I think I've tried nearly every swim to no avail. Only bf I need on St Johns
Having given up on pink belly i thought I'd give this peg a shot... Caught him twice in one session as well as small plated. Pink belly came at 6pm and 9pm on 20mm floating tiger size 4 chod rig
The best bit is when you can see you bait markers out about 60 yards and then you suddenly see a massive catfish tail in the distance, and then you know it's just a matter of seconds before it hits ya!
I never fish in weed. Always on silt. Maybe it's time I give weed a try. ( Now that last bit sounded a bit weird hahahaha )
