ITS FINALLY HERE, im sorry if this post doesnt contain any real info i just cant believe they've finally announced it after such a long time. I havent fully read the article yet as it was published 2 mins ago but will edit this post later on to make this post more informative DTG's post https://bit.ly/33ZsYqp
lol knew it was an April fools joke but clicked anyway.. the only fools here are those who buy the shorter routes DTG are pumping out.
Here's the real link: https://bit.ly/2QLXaQl I can't believe it's finally coming after all these years!
"No, it's definitely not an April Fool's joke! And our are involvement in this is that will be our first product on our own for TSW" - at least, that's what Google and a bit of reworking to make more sense says. This will be the first product independently developed by a third party, not a contracted second party, for TSW, and it was confirmed as such: No word on what the locomotive is, although I would expect an announcement by next Monday at the latest. I would imagine that this is probably one of the results of DTG sending out the closed editor beta to a select few third parties, now to see if the full release will follow I guess.
I mean, that's kind of how all the teasers have been so far. The best guess at the moment is probably something like a BR 294, because that was seen in the editor stream from over a year ago, although it could be something completely different. The only given is that it's German, and it's a diesel.
I'm sure they are, although the next route that comes out will probably be British. They almost certainly aren't working on any LIRR extensions or locos because the MTA has not been terribly helpful in allowing research trips or sound recordings.
Whatever this new addon is, it's for TSW, not TS1, and will therefore be available cross-platform. The only time DTG have content-locked an addon to a specific platform was with Heavy Haul, which doesn't run well on most computers, let alone consoles, because of the large number of 3D trees and various other performance hogs and effectively functions as a tech demo.
I'm waiting until at least tomorrow to fully believe if this is true or not. Still sitting on the fence about it.
You could, yes, although I'm sure DTG have tried contacting them many times. The problem with a loco addon is the dual-modes' limited use, so any DLC would probably be in the form of an M3 that could be used on a hypothetical Hudson/Harlem line route or converted to an M2/4/6 for a New Haven line route, although any of these are highly unlikely. I personally don't think Rivet Games and DTG would collaborate to this extent on a prank, especially because DTG knows what the community's reaction to disappointment looks like - remember the "big announcement"? Assuming we get an announcement this week and a release 2 weeks from now, then a 3-week gap between addon releases is about what we've come to expect. It's at the very least going to be something new.
okay I’ll email the Mta wait you mentioned the Harlem line for metro north is Dtg working on the Harlem line?
Not to my knowledge, no. I do not have any affiliation with DTG, and they are very tight-lipped about their plans. I meant that as just an example of how content could be recycled, not a confirmation that it is. TSW will likely not make a return to the New York area for quite a while, though, if the latest content is anything to go by.
The only US trips they've officially confirmed were the Caltrain one and before that one to DC, where they recorded the ACS-64 and a few other things as well.
And to be realistic here. do you really think the MTA are going to take note of your email? They currently have other more important things to worry about. Hentis
