Well we've gotten CN recently so that's off the list...

That would be amazing to have because it feels the same when you are in a blizard compared to a clear day.

I would love to see the Amtrak Auto Train out of Sanford, Florida. And perhaps an Amtrak passenger train with sleeper/dining/lounge/coach class cars with their iconic Genesis Locomotives. Living in the tri-state area, and having lived in Florida, taking the mentioned trains, I appreciate the realism of the NE corridor line and NY Penn. Would be great to see the Genesis locomotive in the game.

I am a 13 year old don’t have anything to do or have much money and I love trains so much but the DLCs are so expansive. For the amount of content for example the Amtrak switcher or the Caltrain switcher they cost too much instead of being $20 + tax I wish they more like $12.50 + tax!

Just wait for a sale. Even if you can afford to pay full price, waiting for a sale usually allows time for them to fix all the glaring bugs in every release! ;)

*I'm assuming you meant expensive. The new DLCs are a lot of things, but expansive they most certainly are not. :)

I agree with lower pricing for some things. And I agree with more North American diesel and freight content, particularly Canadian prairies and west. Not much of a fan of high speed passenger or commuter services, electric or otherwise. And yes - animated grade crossings for sure. I have also mentioned in other threads about a DLC CN GMD-1, one of the most unique North American diesels built. More MP15 DLC options would be nice too, and bring the Genset GS21B to xBox1!

I would love a description for each of the controls in the settings describing what each control is used for would help the setup of the controls.
    Making it easier.

One of my wishes, a german diesel shunter shunter, will become true with the soon arrival of the eastgerman V100.

I hope that it will be simular with my other wish, a heavy northamerican diesel for consoles. :)

I just saw the announcement of this, it looks like a cool loco. But I'm a North American trains guy so won't get to try it.

Hello, first I wish a complete game not a prototype.
Graphic improvements, distant view, real sky, real weather effect, real water engine, realistic detailed mountains, not unicolored and nude ones we do have which are not immersive at all; elevation view is missing. The simulator is nice but seams so limited graphically, it should at least render a realistic world with 3D grass, , waterfalls, streams, rivers, seas, high bridges, realistic terrain textures, fully texturized mountains, rocks, sky, countries, immersive distant views. There is a big graphic pronblem with details fading away with distant display in one color like an 80's game?. Look what GTA engine can do. More realistic cities, buldings and real streets with traffic, not playmobile streets you provide. I think you can do it! :)

Would love improvements of trains movements, with more realistic effects. Bring back zoom capabilities with the joypad so we do not have to switch on mouse each time.
Please have at least all the features of the old Train simulator, all camera views and new traveling cameras, forcefeedback or joystick vibrations with rails crossing. Game editor, trains repaints, realistic rail sound effects, Quick Drive, pick a train and choose any compatible route, collection UI.

Roadmap of your devloppement? More often bug fixes and updates please.
    It looks like abandoned software

    So and so...

    My whishes:

Railway stations with announcements, train arrivals, departure, stations names.
    Multiplayer
    World and engine Editor
Real cities, countries with better building textures quality. (Maybe an Ai system from sattelite can help)
    New water and sky engine
New moutain an terrain rendering with several types of world textures.
Fix the display problem of the catenary cables (TXAA)
Train complete animation, fix the wheels blurry bug
    Joypad vibrations
    Sound improvements
More accruate train traffic, lines animation
    Distant view, elevation view
    Cross countries, cities connections
    More realistic World
The possibility of saving each progress of scenarios separetely
    DirectX 12 !

Hope you will progress before another company overtakes you
    Thanks
(GTA V game engine) example for what I mean:

:D:D You're maybe right. This is just whishes so why not. Just whish a nowaday game and step by step
Don't you think we've been waiting a long time without real progress since the start of the game?

I think TSW is badly missing following things to become a good simulator game:-
(1)The environment. The game doesn't look realistic when viewing in front of the sun .But when we look in opposite of the sun the scenery looks very good.I think this is happening because of the sky in the game is not properly designed. The clouds look extremely cobbled in all weather conditions . TSW should bring up a photogenic and realistic sky and the game's environment should look as photogenic as its locos and objects in the game in all weather conditions, day or night, whether a bright sunshine or a thunderstorm the game should look as real as it looks physically.

Here are my wishes for TSW 2021:
Updated 2D Map (Showing more information)
UE4 Engine Update (So that various features such as distant shadows; less cooking time for the devs etc can be implemented and taken advantage of)
Bloom-Setting (a slider or a switch where you can turn it on or off)
(Variable Adhesion) (Considering the features above take quite long to implement; I wouldnt expect them to add it in TSW 2021)

Would like them to stop releasing routes so regularly and make routes higher quality.
    - 4k 60fps support for next gen consoles
    - Mastery system to function . Could include liveries.
    - More traction operating during play (next gen consoles)
-Train announcements at stations including dot matrix displays to function with time tables.
Future years of trian sim not all at once
    -Modern UK routes
    ECML with extensions
    WCML with Extensions
    Great Western main line continuation

East coast way was a great start since Great Western express.

    Locos
158 With Bristol temple meads to port'smouth harbour route
    159 London Waterloo DLC
    Class 221 cross country DLC
Class 222 East Midlands trains DLC
    Class 225 ECML
    Pendilino WCML

AI at stations to act more human.
A restart checkpoint system would be better if going Through a red light didn't end the session.

Multiplayer in place not a shared online world. Multiplayer should feel more arcade so you can bypass red lights by mistake and Keep all the game play in place
    Ray tracing low priority

The line map (forget what it's called) that scrolls at the bottom of the screen on the PC Version.

    Extension of LIRR beyond Hicksville.
Extension of NEC to Boston (Maybe not all at once)
    Acela(sp?) Service on NEC
NYC Subway (particularly the parts that are elevated)
More detailed information with regard to services, such as stations serviced.
A way to turn off the Signal Passed at Danger failure, perhaps add a penalty. It stinks to spend an hour or more running a route only to get distracted pulling into the destination a bit too fast and losing ALL the progress.

I watched a cab view of a trip from Ronkonkoma on youtube and it presents what could be a nice ride visually. Also, I think it's kind of cool to have those Stop Placards located BEYOND the platform for the longer trains.

The routes I would like to see in, preferably, TSW is any Sydney City rail route plus in the UK, The Severn Valley Route and in Europe, the Swiss Glacier Express. If not produced for TSW, I would welcome them in TS2021.

Whatever routes are provided in the future, I will still buy them whenever. They all have various interests.

It would be nice but unlikely for a LIRR extension.
A NEC extension would just fill the route with more bugs.

An updated NEC + an extension to D.C with the Acela Express is something I'm strongly looking forward to. Also a CSX freight mainline or add on for NEC would be nice as well.

First of all, please bring back the old system where you created custom trains in custom scenarios. For example:

I was using the DB218 as a lead loco with 20 freights + another DB218 in the back. Those kinds of custom scenarios we dont have in the game. We have "pre-selected" ones and that is a tad annoying.

*Fix some little annoying bugs here and there (Hud Speed Limit showing 130, Track speed limit showing 120)
*Longer routes + more things happening on it when in Timetable mode (feeling alive)
*More Locations (Three Country Corner Route was very good in TS)
*More DB diesel Locos (218,232 etc)
*More DB electric Locos (103,101,E18,E251,CSD ES 499 etc)
*Italian Locos + Routes (E.424,E.646,E464 etc)
*More BR diesel-electric Locos (BR Class 70, Class 58,59,60 etc)
*More BR electric Locos (BR Class 90,91,92 etc)

    EDIT:
Bring back Austrian maps and trains? (OBB 1044 fan)

It will be nice to have a custom scenarios and editor. This will add a much more life to the game compared to the pre-selected scenarios. Also in the base game scenarios nothing happens at all. We just need more life - workers and other personal, realistic weather change and unpredicted game situations(red lights, crossings and etc). I know that is hard to create new routes but i missed my old favourite Cologne to Koblenz route. It will be nice to see something from Eastern Europe.

I am gonna keep it simples. I want a snow plough. No.... scratch that.... I want two snow ploughs.

Give me some snow ploughs and let me plough some snow. On the Peninsular Corridor. With Class 37s.

TS Snowploughs in TSW Peninsular Corridor Please.jpg

I am not asking for much. ;-)

Oooh - and by the way.... Merry Christmas one and all.....!

Haha, the only way you’ll be able to achieve that is with a fully functional scenario editor, as well as cross-compatible loco substitution across all routes! Sure that seems very unrealistic, but hey, it’s nice to switch things up a bit every once in a while.;)

Yeah we reeeally need a mainline service freight for NA. Feels wrong to just drive around in switcher locos all the time.

We got the german diesel shunter already, though. Only for MSB atm but there is one.

I would like to be able to use any train on any route and not just be confined to one route. It would be nice to take the 52 out on a faster route to really open the throttle

Announcements, Dynamic platform timetables display ALL working.
Longer routes. Depot starts as cold and dark. Much more traffic. More busy lines and depending on traffic with yellows.
Real passenger system as per 7y old WoS3 Circle Line, 200 passengers really boarding / deboarding.
Real Passengers boarding related to how busy a station is not arcade stuff for kids as it is.
Actually the real timetable with KM points and speeds (shown on HUD) or on panel like on real trains in Germany.

I’d like to see some Scandinavian routes, I would like station and train announcements, I would like to see route extensions, I would like to see more high speed routes, I would like to see some German Freight dominant routes like Maschen Yard to Moorsburg Harbour via Hamburg-Harburf station (has a freight train roughly every 2-5 mins).
I would like to see VR Support. It may be not possible, but would be cool to see it, if it is.
I would like to be able to have a higher range of locomotives for German routes to allow the freight services to be more ranged in terms of what is hauling them.
I would like to be able to create scenarios like in Train Simulator 20xx, just to allow some more interesting play to happen.
I would like to be able to have a support for extra controls, like Raildriver, for console.
I would like to be able to be a Guard/OBS on a train.
Maybe a Dutch route? Betuweroute would be a nice route; has the DB Class 189 which I believe (please correct me if I am wrong) was created for this line.
A railway that crosses a boarder would be cool, maybe Fredericia to Flensburg; it would mean that the Overhead Voltage would change at Padborg station which means that there is an extra task to do along the line.

I know I have a long list, but even some of those would be nice to see.

Old thread, but still nice one, so let me chime in anyway! :D

I mostly play timetables and relatively little scenarios so most of my suggestions will be playing towards timetables mostly.

    Features:

-More roles to fulfill on or off the train. (guard, conductor, etc.)

-More in depth features on the trains themselves, such as my suggestion to separate coupling mechanics.

-Freeplay mode. Basically just being able to put down a train and do whatever you like in every direction you like without being limited by red signs or by unswitchable switches.

    -Consist editor.

-Accessible areas in the train, like toilets, train conductor's room, on-board cafeteria.

    Routes:

-As has often been said already, more routes from around the world.
UK/US/GE are great, but there's really more to the world than that.
Cathcart Circle and Oakville Subdivision may be in different countries technically and they're great routes on their own merit, but they feel very much like UK/US but merely in slightly different colors. (Schotland is even part of the UK, so it's not even actually another region to begin with other than it not being England). So in that sense, there's really only 2 routes, Arosa and Méditerranée, that are actually different.

My own hopes go out mostly to the Netherlands and Japan, but really, just more regions in general would be great already.
I'll put in a shameless plug though for the route I suggested a while ago I personally like to see most in Randstad area Netherlands :D

    Scenery/world building:

-Make the world feel more alive with more maintenance activity represented in both timetable schedules as scenery.
For example, if there's a switch leading to a branch that's not represented in-game and does not actually have any traffic coming through it, make it look like there's maintenance going on there, like putting some truck on there, with some static NPC models looking like they're working on the tracks or something. This would both explain the lack of AI traffic from that spot as well as making the world feel like stuff is actually happening.

-Take into account more areas around a station. Example, as little as it may be, it was in my personal opinion quite disappointing for Hamburg-Lübeck not to have the Lübeck docks represented in-game, even if for now, for the time being, there was no actual use for it yet given the base rolling stock available on the route.

-Model more around the station itself to walk through.
I know this is quite a large task as simple as it sounds, but I feel like some stations are quite lacking. Of course a limit has to be drawn somewhere, but in my personal opinion it should be at least so that you can actually stand in front of the station and enter like you would as a real life passenger. This would also greatly enhance the immersion of some of the larger and more popular stations around the world.
Just imagine if Amsterdam Centraal was ever represented in-game and you could actually stand there like this![IMG]
You don't have to model every room, I don't mind you being funneled straight to the tracks with little detours, but still, this would add a lot as it's such an iconic sight that should not be relegated to a mere backdrop you can't even view from the front.

    Timetables:

-More AI traffic going around principle stations even if they're only popping in and out of the world to appear there. It feels very unrealistic to see a major station that's almost empty. (Brighton station on ECW does this very well I feel like)

-More empty stock and maintenance moves at night and during the day. At least where I'm from there's always movements happening at night, not just for depot, but also just to prepare for the next day, get trains into place, or one that needs to go to a larger maintenance facility.
Like the railtour services present on some British routes, they're greatly appreciated. Assembling services and preparation services help greatly in making the world feel more like an actual network which you're part of, making the world alive.

-More empty stock just standing around gathering dust in sidings and maintenance facilities.
I know the arguments why this is difficult. It puts a strain on weaker computers to simulate more rolling stock, it blocks off access to a siding in case of future use. Still though I feel like something should be done to make the world feel more alive.

For now this is most of what I can think of though I might add more when I can think of it!
I hope people will agree with most of my points including DTG, but we shall see :)

You do know that Scenario Planner exists, right?

Also this thread had been dead for almost a year. Nice job.

And now it is no longer :D
Maybe OP should change the thread name to 2022 and we'll just continue like this

How about international routes to introduce a new country for example Perpignan Girona Railway introduces Spain to the game. Same thing applies to Duisburg Oberhausen-Arnhem Railway to which DTG can combine that with Haputstrecke Rhein-Ruhr S3 line by joining at Oberhausen Hbf and the Duisburg junction. Since everyone has Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen your DB BR406 can be used there.

Although it sounds nice, I'm seeing a few little problems with that idea.
First of all, when it comes to introducing new countries that way, I feel like that may be slightly upsetting cause when a new country gets introduced, ideally you would want all the focus to be on that new country.
Taking your example for adding the Netherlands through the introduction of Duisburg - Arnhem, that would add only for about 1/4 of the route to be actually in the Netherlands, which is way too little for an introduction.

Additionally, this creates for the only really viable rolling stock on that route to be the dedicated international train leading to a similar problem LGV Mediterranee has of only having 1 kind of train with 1 kind of service which only goes from A to B, leaving a pretty empty feeling route.
Keeping to your example, most Dutch railways fans want to see local trains, mostly stock like ICM which a route like that doesn't incentivize to make. So fans of most local trains would feel pretty left out. And even if they DID make it, it would only drive less than half of the actual route, and so would the rolling stock on the German side.

Now, if we don't introduce new countries this way and we keep these kinds of routes to connect existing stations, it would be a much better idea.
If for example the TS20xx community mod Hart van Nederland were to be made we'd already have Arnhem, and your route would be the linking route between HRR and 'tHvN.
Why this is better is because this also ensures there's actual local train traffic on both sides of the border of such an international line as well as those local trains being available on routes that would make them shine best.

I do like the idea of international border crossing routes, but for those routes it is essential both countries already have a strong infrastructure present in-game to rely on as to not only rely on switchover on the border, which is a fun element, but only for so long if there's nothing else to do really.
