    Hi,

I activate the AWS (or whatever the US equivalent is called), and every time it beeps, I press the Q key but it doesn’t silence the alert and then the emergency brakes activate.

Any ideas how to acknowledge and silence the warning?

    Thanks,

    James

You have to fast slow down to the indicated speed after acknowledging.

Are you using the Alerter or ATC?

You must acknowledge the alert first then briefly activate the brakes to slow down within the given amount of seconds otherwise the train will go into emergency brake. If you still here the alarm or sound, Then acknowledge twice and try to slow down. Many other people have had issues with the Alerter & ATC on LIRR because it does not work fully and it is buggy. It also could be you are using the wrong button. Otherwise if it is a persisting issue, I would either Not use the Alerter/ATC at all or submit a support ticket But only submit a ticket once you know you have tried all other options at trying to fix the ATC.
