Hi I’m here to ask if there’s anyway to get the Virgin 390 as I’m looking to get the Major Wales Avanti reskin for a scenario.
You can get this standalone from Steam https://store.steampowered.com/app/208343/Train_Simulator_Class_390_EMU_AddOn/ I think that's the only Pendolino you can get now.
Yes, you can still get the TSx 2018 bundle license key from certain retailers. This bundle included the North Wales Route and the 390 which came with it, so if you don't have that DLC or any of the others which came with the 2018 bundle, that's one route
The North Wales route is worth having but it doesn't include the Pendolino (which is electric- the route isn't electrified). I believe you're mistaking the similar looking Voyager for it.
You cannot buy it directly. There are no keys available (TS2018). You will probably be able to acquire a Black and Red reskin after purchasing the base 390. Search around in ATS for options.it is also possible for you to add the labels yourself once you have the Black and Red.
I think the closest you'll get is the Avanti one with a reskin? Sadly the "Virgin" version has been discontinued Train Simulator: WCML South: London Euston - Birmingham Route Add-On on Steam Reskin - BH Class 390 Reskin Pack (WCML-South Version) – Alan Thomson Simulation (just the first version that came up - i'm sure there are others)
Horgys Virgin repaint for the S9BL Class 390 is still available at DPSimulations under 3rd party reskins.
Yeah, the best option as already discussed is getting WCML South and a reskin for that 390. There are also reskins of the other 390 that used to be available on UKTS, but the original train is old enough now and the game updated so much that I would suggest the WCML South one is more likely to work better today - particularly if swapping into scenarios with the standalone Virgin from Steam. As for Horgy's, it's also based on the older 390. I would acquire it for scenarios using that model specifically. I would probably not swap it for the Virgin given the other options available and the fact it's older than the Virgin.
There is no Pendolino in the TS2018 bundle, it included the Voyager, which is a completely different train. Don't tell people to throw their money away.
Just pairing these together as a quote was not provided. I forgot to note this, myself, when I posted. USRailFan is correct. The route comes with a 221, 175, and 158. No 390. The 2018 bundle did not feature a 390, either. The Virgin Pendolino was a standalone, and the current version comes with WCML South. The existing standalone is a very old one from the early days, and that is the one that Horgy's skin is based on. ATS has reskins for the WCML South one.
