I mean, a lot of people use twitter, I certainly do, just not for train sim-related reasons. The point here isn't that they use twitter, it's that they're not using their own platform which they're supposed to have for this sort of thing?

Nice, I was starting to think it wasn't gonna be until next week.

At least the rolling stock numbers are correct the first release pic the m3 had the rolling stock number 7673 the numbers switched to 9836 so numbers aren't in the 7000s like the m7 hopefully people see that they fixed that problem

Flashbacks to the SW100R where the ENTIRE CAB ROOF was the complete wrong color until basically release day. Not the first last-minute fix we've known about, doubt it will be the last at the rate they rush these out.

Speaking about numbers, I'm surprised there hasn't an improvement for the M7s and the married pair numbers. They seem to be randomly generated rather than one digit up or down from it's married pair car. Hopefully that won't be the case with the M3s

It's now official people. The LIRR M3 will be released on May 14th 2020 at 11AM EST here in NYC GMT-4.
I told many that this week would be the release and I was right how lucky am I. I just guessed, In many of my previous post on this thread explains me talking about possible release this week. If you would like more info about the LIRR M3 refer to some of my informative post's above (On pages 4-8). Overwise have a great evening/night people.

Yes I also found that really unusual. Take the legendary R32 for example: I worked on R32 car 3828 and it's pair 3829, This is how it should be. So an example for the M7 would be 7336 & 7337. An M3 would be 9872 & 9871. It is very strange to see the M7 be randomly generated numbers unless these cars are in totally different pairs but are under the same fleet numbers.

May 14th, 2020, Release of the LIRR M3, meaning disappointments as ever. No service to hunterspoint ave, no bugs fixes, no m3 and M7 action at the same time, no additional routes, just think it’s going to be a huge disappointment towards DTG again.

Unless they send a patch update for the bugs (very unlikely)

I'm pretty sure we'll experience the M3 and M7 services at the same time, as the M3 would replace a few services rather than add on. We'll have to wait and see what the M3 has in store for scenarios.

Yes. Usually a day before the release TSW 2020 always updates. That signifies a bug fix or a patch to add on the new DLC content. So tomorrow TSW 2020 both on consoles/PC will be updated.

Nope. The M7 is easy, however the M3 is going to be more complicated because the throttle may have the ablilty to go up and down when in max brake. Ive already look forward to the cab

Yes it will hopefully be true to life. The master controller or throttle lever is very complex for such an old type. There is power delay and you have to keep the controller in the down position when driving otherwise that will trigger the dead man's switch before bringing the train to a halt. If the controls are made accurate this will be one of the most complex and interesting trains to operate in TSW 2020.

I'm truly looking forward to this DLC and I know it is not going to be a disappointment (at least to me). It's been almost 3 weeks since the official confirmation and it was announced even earlier. I would expect top tier performance with this train and *True to Life performance as stated in the DTG article*.

The dead man’s switch will be permanently engaged, like with the class 101.

I’ve just checked (on PS4) and you are correct.

It’s got to be a mistake, surely? There are now only Hicksville to New York Penn services for the M7. Are they trying to force us to buy the M3 to get the other services back? Surely not. That would be a major smack in the face.

Exactly what I said. With today’s update, most of the services for the M7 on LIRR have disappeared. This is either a mistake or those services will now only be playable if you purchase the M3, so players who don’t buy the M3 will have lost most of the services on LIRR.

Well, it's been said that the M3 is supposed to only swap in wirh M7 services, so I REALLY think it's jumping to conclusions to assume that DTG is intentionally holding LIRR services hostage for DLC money. I know DTG can be pretty bad, but that's generally out of laziness, I don't think they'd go THAT low. Come on. It's clearly just a mistake.

I think i know what is going on. DTG is probably modifying the Hempstead services and a few of the Port Washington Services to be compatible with both with the M7 and/or the M3..... I understand that nowadays the M3 doesnt run on the Mainline much. When i spawned at Hempstead it loaded in normally luckly. So im kinda assuming that they are modifying several bugs on the Hempstead branches or the Belmont Park Branches......i cant be for sure tho

It's supposed to spawn at random and be selectable for any service from what I understand , so I suspect something may have gone horribly wrong. I'd suggest firing something at DTG Support.

Hopefully a mistake. What's it done for your completed services count? I'm still trying to get the King of Queens trophy (even though I've completed 73 of the required 70 services) so if that number drops because the ones I've completed no longer exist in the game, then I'll be deeply unimpressed. :|

Haha you’re all wrong they didn’t remove services you just have to change the livery you have now 10 cars with 28 services, 6 cars with 88 services and 8 cars with 65 services. You change by pressing square on PS4 I don’t know for Xbox or PC

Yes I can appreciate it's confusing because it's an unannounced difference - it's because we're now using formation substitution to allow us to sub in hte M3 sets, and this is how formation substitution represents itself currently on the UI.

But - no, nothing has been removed, it's just been shuffled around a bit!

On the up side, now if you actually want an 8 car unit, you can specifically select it and only see 8 car services! :)

    Hope that helps

Honestly thank goodness this was incorperated........i was tired of choosing services on the Main Line only to see a 8 car set and a lot of other trains a 10 car set....now hope fully this is incoperated on other routes especially Rapid Transit....i wanted to do the services with a double Talent 2 sets operating.

I used the angry face. I should have used the confused face. Now I’ll just use the “ah, the length of the train is now selectable under what was formerly a fairly well hidden option to change the paintwork of certain trains and the shape of the nose of the class 40 amongst other things” face, or the “ooh Matt, you little tinker” face :D.

Yes realistically LIRR does use 12 car trains for the really long services. I have seen 4 times a 14 car special that ran as a staff service. I have also seen a 4 car shuttle run as well. I would assume the M3 would follow the same way the M7 was customized into train lengths. I love this new feature it is very helpful however I almost missed it as I barely ever use the livery option.

I think the operation of the M3 is just like the M2/M4 operation in TS2020. I may be wrong on this. The only thing I think that is different is the M3 can't alternate between AC and DC, as the M3 only uses DC over running 3rd rails. With the dead man's switch in the down position, I believe you can acknowledge the alerter while the train is in operation.

I'm sure it will get revived every couple of months as mrchuck digs up all the old LIRR-related threads to ask for the DE/DM30AC or Port Jefferson branch again
